damn competition...
Fine, the cactus can have bangladesh and you can have puerto rico. You need to be confined to a small area with your whole up to no good avatar. Still, ill only give you guys these areas if you agree to honor your good king.
i am willing to split the world in half with you if we can keep cactus from getting anything.
i call dibs on the western hemisphere!
Today I found out something that made me more disgusted than I've been in a while.
I had a friend at college a few months ago who dropped out because her baby died of meningitis. We were all very sympathetic, tried to be good friends, dropped everything if she wanted someone...
Today I found out it had all been a pack of lies.
Her baby never died. All a lie. She also lied about having a miscarriage. Apparantly, she came into college a few weeks back with a baby. People were worried she'd snatched it. And then they realised... it was the same baby we had seen pictures of before. The baby that apparantly had died.
She claimed that THIS baby was the twin of the one who died. Funny - she never mentioned a twin before.
That baby then also died of meningitis, apparantly. And now she's apparantly pregnant again.
What makes it worse, was, the person she went crying to in her "grief" the most was our English teacher, Sarah. Who had ACTUALLY lost a baby. So she had told this girl about her experiences, even though it was incredibly painful for her, hoping it might help her.
And none of it was true.
And if that girl applies for college again, Sarah doesn't even have the right to say she doesn't want her in her class. Even after what she did to her.
And the amount of detail she put in. She told us this heart-wrenching story about how she'd had to turn off her baby's life support, told us how beautiful her funeral was, when in reality the baby was fine.
She also lied about other things. She was apparantly getting married. She wasn't. She lived with her fiance in her own house. She lives with her parents. She went on a wonderful holiday to Dubai. She was actually at the Lake District.
And it wasn't the first time she'd done it, either. We found out that whilst on a childcare course last year, she claimed her brother had died in a car accident.
She never even HAD a brother.
It made my skin crawl when I found out. All the times I was late for class or work because I was staying with her because she was so upset. All the texts and phone calls me and my friends sent her, checking up on her, asking if she needed anything, saying that we'ed be there if she did.
And it was all one big, disgusting, attention-seeking lie.
Sorry for the rant. But I really needed to vent.

I know, right? We're not even sure if that kid is actually hers, anyway. Could be a relative's kid. The stuff she's said, how would we know? I think it's even worse if it WAS her baby. It's sick enough to make up a story about a baby you never had, but I think it's even sicker to use your own child to gain attention like that.Sanguine wrote:Wow Rexana that person is just sick. I mean who would lie about something like that.

I know, god I hope it is a relative's or I'll have lost a great deal of respect for humanity.Rexana wrote:I know, right? We're not even sure if that kid is actually hers, anyway. But then it's also worrying if it is a relative's. Do they know they've entrusted their baby to someone who's obviously pretty disturbed? dont blame all of humanity for the sickness of one individual.Sanguine wrote:I know, god I hope it is a relative's or I'll have lost a great deal of respect for humanity.Rexana wrote:I know, right? Quite true, man this is just a horrible thing. If she is mentally ill as Dark Lord suggested she needs to spend a lot of time in a mental facility, if she isn't she need to see a shrink to work out her emotional problems.Rexana wrote:But then it's also worrying if it is a relative's. Edit: @Dark Lord: The thing is though it isn't just one individual you hear these kinds of stories all of the time. Although if she is mentally ill I can pardon it to a degree.
True.Dark Lord wrote:dont blame all of humanity for the sickness of one individual.
Yeah. I mean, I hope she gets the help she needs, obviously, but she had better not be calling me up anymore. I do not want to know.Sanguine wrote:Quite true, man this is just a horrible thing. Even I, who spews so much BS I could start my own fertilizer company, find that repulsive. [Then again, I always tell the person it's BS if I see they think I'm tellin' the truth.]
Ugh, that is... So horrible!
Sometimes you just wanna kill some people.

"In ancient days, men looked at stars and saw their heroes in the constellations. In modern times, we do much the same, but our heroes are epic men of flesh and blood." -William Safire, moon landing failure speech (undelivered)
I cannot imagine what would drive a person to lie like that. However, such a sickly need for attention and possibly comfort does not come from nothing. No one here can know why she did those things without knowing her thoughts and that is plain impossible. I understand how this story upsets and angers people, especially you Rexana who was affected directly, but don't judge without knowing. What she did, she did for a reason. I can only feel pity for this poor person for having been driven to do something so, well, false and I really hope she gets the help she needs.

Only one viable option, when she gets off, hide Oblivion.Sanguine wrote:Well coming off of the subject of Rexana's horrible acquaintance. Today I realized I never should have introduced my little sister to oblivion now she is hogging the xbox in fact it is the only reason I'm on UESP otherwise I would be playing Morrowind right now.
She'll suffer from withdrawal in about... one hour if she was hooked as I was.

She's not that hooked, after all she can't read much so she mostly just wanders around in third person, but damn does she like it.Kestral wrote:Only one viable option, when she gets off, hide Oblivion.Sanguine wrote:Well coming off of the subject of Rexana's horrible acquaintance. What happened to me yesterday was that I was at party. A friend of mine
celebrated her 18th birthday. Sadly, it wasn't that fun. I knew about four
persons. Everybody else knew eachother, and almost ignored the four os
us. Yey...not. We left after a couple of hours, walking two kilometers in
the dark on a dirt road. I had new shoes, which means that I now have
band aid on both heels.
Today I've really done nothing. Or well, I just watched 10 000 BC.
