and there would be no conflict in the timetable between your current subjects and the ones you want? and are you part of a group that isn't allowed to also be in another group? e.g. when i went to college we had groups A,B,C & D. we did the same classes but had slightly different timetables. you could switch from group to another but not be in more than one at once

There would be no conflict in my timetable as my courses would not change at all. I make my timetable myself anyway, they tell me how many courses I need to do, and I choose. Now, it's just a matter of the exams I have to do. Which isn't that big a difference, only in length, and only slightly.
We have no such thing as groups either. We're archaeologists, we're only around 60-80 students altogether, from 1st to 12th semester. We all sit in the same courses.

Well, for my world history class we had to give reports over various countries . We were given the option to bring in food for extra credit, and I brought Onigiri filled with Umeboshi. I thought they were pretty good, but sadly only four people in my class [33 kids] were able to eat the whole thing.

Well, my day started at 4:49! I woke up of some reason, and couldn't fall
back into sleep until 5:30.
Later I went to school, one lesson. On the way home I was questioned by
the bus driver whether I lived here permanentely?! Just because you
don't have the same dialect(moved here from the Stockholm area when I
was 5) as everyone else doesn't mean you don't belong there.
Then I did some math, I have a test tomorrow. And now...eating

Well, the recording got done to a good standard in the end.
After spending yesterday evening and this morning making several fruitless phone calls and e-mails trying to get all my gear sorted, I hassled the switchboard for a direct number to the studio manager's office and managed to get hold of some top-end mics and an audio interface but no laptop. No problem, I just took my laptop in.
Further luck came when the singer told me she had the hall booked from 5 but didn't want to get started until about 5:15 so I'd have more than 4 seconds to set up. I also used my grasp on speechcraft to get the moron from 2 posts ago to surrender some of the mics he had booked because he wasn't using most of them.
This new setup time, evidently, wasn't enough. Come 5:20 it simply wasn't working. Amazingly, turning everything off and on again hadn't worked. Since this was a final rehearsal for someone's recital I just told them to get on with it and I'd record as much of it as I could. You know when you're trying to make something work and pressing one button makes everything slot into place? That happened. If you care, the output for the pre-amps was set to line rather than optical so there was no physical connection to the interface. Oh yes.
In the end I got all bar the first 2 minutes committed to tape which is far more than I needed, I've bought some lovely new speakers off a friend and pizza for dinner, wahey!
In other news, I feel empty because the current series of Lost has now finished.

I was going to batter some chap in school because he thought he was tough and I was "weaker" than him. I swear I'll kill him.
Everyone in my class is scared and "licks arse" to him exept for me, that makes him think he's powerful, well I've been told by my coaches that my punches could knock out a horse, so this retard will need to be a skilled jockey to survive this dig I have waiting for him, I'll have to go outside school or I'll get suspended..again.

Does the kid beat other people up? If he does, batter the crap out of him. If he doesn't, maybe you just confront him and tell him to cease his madness or a train o' pain is comin'.Dark Lord wrote:kjdanext wrote:I was going to batter some chap in school because he thought he was tough and I was "weaker" than him. After finding out that two friends of mine have the EXACT same combination of subjects that I wanted to switch to, I went back down to the office this morning and after a long discussion and some telephone calls they finally gave me what I wanted! YAY!
It's just another of those times where you realise the administration doesn't know anything and are just as clueless as everyone else. Good times.
@Dark Lord: Not the subject itself sucks, it's the system behind it and what they ask of us. Plus the most people studying it, they're only studying to become teachers and not proper historians. You soon notice the difference.

Good for you Caz! Administrations are often unaware of such matters.
I woke up early today too, 4:00 or something like that. Not nice, but I
realised that it was the birds' singing that awoke me. I will not have the
window open tonight.
Then I spent 4 hours (FOUR HOURS!!!) doing a math test. After that my
brain was exhausted, and it's still not fully recovered.

My exam is in 9 hours.
Crap.
I'm supposed to be doing 'serious' study for my Leaving Cert at the start of June, and I've been saying that same thing for about a month and a half now.
But I don't think I'll be getting anything done today because now I've just ordered a pizza .. >.>"
I did my exam.
I was NOT impressed.
We've been studying the Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini. Our teacher has been telling us all year that the exam question would be "Discuss how the character of ____ is portrayed throughout the book." etc. She said she'd been to meetings, and spoken to the examiners who write the paper. They all said it'd be on a character.
So we spend weeks and weeks preparing character profile sheets, trawling through the book for any quote, any linguistic, that could be used to show something about the character, for every single character. And there are a lot.
So, this morning, I open my exam paper, and what is the question?
"Discuss how the theme of cruelty is presented in The Kite Runner."

I know. -_-;;
I still think I did okay. I still managed to write four pages on that question. Not sure if it's any good or not. But the main thing that's bugging me is all that bloody work, the hours spent thumbing through that stupid book.
Well, it's not a stupid book. It's a very good book.
But... GRAGGGH.

I just found out that I don't have to go to work tomorrow or next week.
SCORE. ^^
Most annoying thing, tho? I told my friend Aidan I couldn't go to his Eurovision party because I had work the next day. Now it turns I don't, I still can't go because it's kinda short notice (Eurovision starts in 2 hours xD) and I instead made plans with my dad to have pizza, wine, and vodka. xD
EDIT: watched eurovision.
Drunk a bottle and a half of wine. lol.
I mean, not lol. it's not good. Very bad. yes. That's right.
Still nothing as epic this year as verka seduchka. xD Norway's winning song is growing on me, tho.
Oslo next year, then.
... Oslo IS Norway's capital city, right? *brain has melted*
