Unzipping the demo

Post by Dragour »

While the demo is downloading I just noticed it is in Zip format, this is a blonde question I'm sure, but how do you unzip them?
(sorry I tried to post this in my last thread but it was locked before I could)

Well it downloaded in less than five minutes (thank god) but daggerfall is at 38% with an hour left XD but since this winrar costs after the free trial, I have to install Daggerfall now!

I'm pretty sure most computers will unzip by default. You just right click and choose "Unzip." Also, I suggest a program called 7-Zip. It can open .zip, .rar, and the rare .7z files with ease as well as several others. It's free, not a trial. As an added bonus, you can zip things with it (.7z is smaller than other formats).

WinRAR or WinZIP is the way to go, these days there are a lot of zipped files on the net.

I downloaded the demo and it seemed to be in an auto-zip format!

Which demo did you download btw? There should be two if I'm not mistaken.

You can play it on vista but is horribly buggy, your best bet would be to play it via DosBox. All of this is according to the wiki i have never played it myself.

Ok so I have never heard of this DosBox but it seems as I may need it, but when I go to use 'setup' it mentions it cannot run on my computer for the system isn't the right one or something
