Could someone please make me an ava? *contains pic, no 56K*

Post by PaulThompson229 »

I have tried for almost an hour now but I havent been able to make an ava with a small enough file size, even if it is much less than the pixel limit it is still around 30-40kb, this is strange because this is the same pic I use in all of the other forums I frequent, I checked and they all have file limits of 50-100kb for their avas while this site is only 10kb, very tiny.

Either way, if someone would like to try to get this pic down to under 10kb for me I would appreciate it.

I used to play Oblivion, then I took an arrow in the knee.

A tip for the future: jpgs are big. If you save it as a png, the compression could make it smaller, without really affecting picture quality.

.png's are good, but saving images as .gif's isn't such a bad idea, either. If you save images a .gif's on Photoshop, they turn out barely distorted compared to what compressed .jpg images look like, and .gif's are very small in size.

Next time when you post the link to the picture, codex, you can actually get the actual link to the picture. When you upload an image onto imageshack and after you are done uploading it, there is a little thing at the bottom that says: + Show Advanced Linking. When you click that the actual link comes up for the image. They say not to use it for forums, but don't listen to that.
