There's a perk (level 12 or 14 I think) that lets you find way more ammo. It's pretty useful, I have to say.

I found that planning ahead helps a lot. From the beginning decide what weapons you'll use. Keep every bit of ammo for that weapon you ever find and once you actually find it, you'll have a decent stockpile. When possible, buy out every vendor you come to for it. Carry more than one type of weapon. Don't rely on JUST a rifle. Carry a rifle, shotgun, and a pistol. If you run out of your favorite, you'll have backups. I carry around five weapons* at all times, just in case one runs out or becomes broken, and it's saved my butt several times. In addition, I'm generally carrying a small collection of various mines and grenades.

Blackhawk
Reservist's Rifle
Combat Shotgun
Silenced 10mm Pistol

Only on the killing shot and only if it's critical. Try the railroad gun (custom made). It shoots railway spikes. It not only tears limbs off, it pins them to the wall behind.
If you're going for ultimate mutilation, take a knife or something to their dead bodies. Even upon death you can remove all limbs and head, then carry around each piece and scatter it around the cell/room. :Twisted Evil:

Oh yes, I want this gun... (By the way, it's the Railway Rifle...) I've staring at awe at the even before I got this game...though, could anyone tell me a place to find the schematics somewhere near my safe zones...(Basically Wasteland, Megaton, and near GNR...please nowhere downtown...)So if that's too much to ask...

You may want to read the actual article. The weapon is slightly bugged.

I love the game, some people say that it's just Oblivion with guns. Well, I like Oblivion and I like guns so it's a win.

10/10
I've seriously been having the hardest time playing. I think Oblivion ruined RPG games for me. Oblivion is a "pick up and play" kind of game. Fallout is a lot harder at least for me. I've got to worry about finding ammo, stimpaks, guns that I can use to repair other guns. Plus worry about not skipping Quests. And I think leveling is more difficult in Fallout. I seriously need to rethink my play style.
thats why I turn the diffculty level up

Does anyone know a good way to make money? Currently, I can only keep around 70 caps on myperson after Stims, Ammo, and Repairs...I'm looking to buy a theme for my house, and even a infirmary, but alas, it costs money...any tips would be great...thanks!

Scavenge anything you can find, probably the easiest way, works best if you have a high strength. Unless you intend to get railway/dart gun the ammo for those are easy cash as they weigh nothing

raid the raider camps and sell their stuff
get the lawbringer or contract killer perk and collect on the ears and fingers

sell 5mm ammo whenever you find it
c'mon the mini gun is horribly inaccurate anyway

pick up stuff you dont need and sell it
sell all the mines you pick up unless you really need them

sell sell sell

A good tip for (relatively) early on: wear raider armour, and then you can repair it any time you kill a raider. It's great.

Focus on the value/weight ratio of the loot you take. Also, if you have some scematics, you can sell your own weapons with a nice profit.

One of the drive in cinemas (cant remember the name :? ) has alot of cars cramped together. Also a good place to "waste ammo"

And Lunar, other ways to make caps is collecting pre-war books and sell them to the brotherhood scribe at Arlington library. She will pay 100 caps for each book. You can also sell sugar bombs to a ghoul in Northwest Seneca Station for up to 30 caps each.

Yes, thats the area I was mostly thinking about. But without spoiling anything, I can't really tell whats behind it. Lets just say you need to get the code to the door somehow, and the thing you find is utterly useless, but totally awesome :D

I used that certain object three times before I figured out why I was dying. Once I did I learned to point up..
..and introduced it to a certain Behemoth in Takoma Industrial. The effect.. just.. WOW..
He didn't even die from the preliminary shot, but was killed soon after by secondary explosions.
