So I'm from the Triassic? Didn't realise I was that old, but then again, you tend to forget after a while. And hello by the way, I'm still here.Relax and Play wrote:Ok Guy No. 2 has me corrected, UESP is actually in its Early Cretacious Period.
(Triassic = 2006, when Jeff and Weka and so on were around and active.
Jurassic = 2007, after the arrival of folks like Cactus.
Cretaceous = 2008, started upon the arrival of me, Raven, and a few others.)

And I could have sworn I saw something that said TES V was confirmed for 2010. Might have been in either GameInformer or Xbox Magazine...

I'm pretty much like the Goths who sacked Rome: I was actually just trying to join in on the fun of the Golden Age but, as I was kicking the walls for hollow spots, everything started falling down instead.

Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

The Dark Ages began on 12 May 2007: When MHL joined, became a mod, and talked Daveh into the General Forums.

Bear has been ready to leave, even back when I took off at the beginning of the year.
Codex had planned to leave on his 2nd Aniversary, it was when King and a few others back then said they were leaving that he changed his mind.
Seriously... how many times do you think it takes for them to get tired of reprimanding the same people, about the same thing...???
Just look at how many times you all have to get told to get on topic in the "Welcome/goodbye" topic... every couple of pages...

That is exactly what happened... but it wasn't just Weka & I who left, it was most of the Adults.... the few left are the moderators, and you don't see them that much (and that's only to tell the kiddies to get back on topic). Continue the way you are, and you might see them leave too...Jeff wrote:...the alternative could also be that people leave in disgust bacause the Forum has turned into nothing but uselesspostfloodingspamage...???

you know having the adults leave only makes the problem worse.
leaving us kids by ourselves isnt always a good idea
some of us are more mature than others
but there have always been a few clowns
you cant deny that
like i said
if the mods leave that only makes the problem worse.
not better
anyway before i anger someone i am off as this thread is not exactly for me.................

Jeff........ is back!!!! Yay!!!! Oblivion forums aren't the same without you.
On topic: The forums have a certain learning curve, it takes people a while to get used to it, given, it seems it takes/took some longer to understand(including myself) yet most come around.

Wow I didn't know the dark ages started that long ago... I'm pretty sure the forums started the dark ages when Jeff and Weka left. (Good to see you around by the way Jeff) Things have just gone downhill since then. We can't just kick the immature kiddies our of the forum (not mentioning any names) but I think we need someone like you Jeff to really put them in their place. I would of left a long time ago, but then my Battleground thread got going so I have stayed behind to... moderate it.
I have 2 words to say to you! I can't count!!!
I am not sure what to say here! I have so much going through my head at the moment.
How about this!
Length of time here and post count don't really hold all that much weight around here as to the quality of the poster in itself. I have been around since just after Weka, Jeff, Codex, and many more; but one of the people I looked up to the most when I read through the archives(and before I joined) was Vook. He had left just before I joined!
I've seen people come and go, but mostly I think of the ones that have helped others with there ES problems the most. This is not a point of naming specifically whom has done this or that, but the manner in which they represented themselves in doing so.
I have come to understand that I myself am even disliked in a good and a bad sense! I do believe that everything I have done here has been for the betterment of the game in which I've discussed, and the better for the forums as a whole. Some will disagree with that point of view, and I'm ok with that. I am still here for the moment and I would like to think that the weight of what I say is still respected. I didn't volunteer to be a moderator because I thought it would be a popularity contest, I did so because I thought I could help! And I believe is the same with the other moderators.

( Vook is awesome. 900 posts in a time where the number 2 had like 200, and all of them good helpful posts, no spam. )
EDIT: You're awesome too, you saved the forum two years ago.
( At least I think so. )

We were both active, barrin a few short interludes, right through to Aug2008, so don't write us off that easily!!Relax and Play wrote:(Triassic = 2006, when Jeff and Weka and so on were around and active.
Like Bear, Vook I have always missed, he was a brilliant asset to UESP. But I hadn't realised Bear, that you weren't here during Vook's time.

I think king was right a few pages back that the reason the forums were so great before was because so many people were playing oblivion. It's been quite a while since it came out so people stopped going on. I'm pretty guilty. I can't remember the last time I went to the Oblivion or Morrowind section.
