Pimp my Horse!
Question is, what would you change to the horses? perhaps the colour, or where they appear, how much they cost, maybe u think you should be able to store items in them (and i dont mean like shadowmere, kill him, store item, wait till she comes back).
i would change the handling, it takes too long to turn around, and of course, horseback fighting.

Saddle bags would be a nice addition. It's kind of cheesy to me that the only way to store items on a horse is to exploit Shadowmere's immortality.

Saddlebags would be a great addition, as would naming horses. I find it strange that in a world where horses are the fastest form of transport that Shadowmere is the only (I think) named horse in the game...
Might sound strange, but I'd like to see people trying to steal your horse. I'm not sure whether this happens in-game already, but it's never happened to me. It would be hilarious to see a sneaky Khajiit climb on board your horse, start riding away, and just as he thinks he's gotten away, an imperial guard shoots him off with an arrow!!
Just thought of something else... I'd actually like horses to have a whole levelling system of their own, and maybe the possibility to buy a stable where you could keep multiple horses, raise their level and stats (I haven't thought how this would work, but they would have at least strength, speed, endurance and Health which could be increased by feeding them or riding them into battle, riding them long distances increases their friendliness towards you and their overall happiness). When you have 2 horses you're happy with, you get to keep them as "parents" that can be used to produce more horses (I was thinking of a pregnancy cycle of a couple of in-game months so as not to take the element of enjoyment out of the whole horse subculture), then when you have enough to get you by, visit the imperial city and put an ad in the Black Horse Courier offering up horses for sale, effectively setting up your own business. Word of mouth gets around, and you become a conversation topic after so many people buy your horses, they start to comment on the quality of the new breeds, and recommend you to other people.
I may have thought about this too much...

I use mods to add usable saddlebags, armor the Imp. Legion's horses, and give more colors, as well as more realistic colors. I don't remember any of the names except that AlienSlof does the horse retextures, and they're really nice. For example, Prior Maborel's horse has a couple of small, visible saddlebags, as well as a book hanging from the saddle(they're not interactive, but it's a nice touch).
I would DEFINITELY add horse combat, though, if only to keep me from having to leap off my horse every single time some creature comes out of the woods.
