Items Disappear When I Transfer Them Into Chest

At my house in Bravil, sometimes when I transfer items from my inventory into my chest, they will disappear when I look to see if they are in my chest. It's the weirdest thing. Does anyone know why this happens, or how I can fix it?

Is the chest already full? It will only display so many items; the other items that are missing are still there but can only be found by emptying the chest.

The best way to fix it is use two containers.
