I was thinking of starting a warrior monk/priest character any ideas on what race is best for this idea and is there anyway of getting robes early in the game im playing on the PS3.
Any help would be great.
Warrior Monk/Priest
You can check the wiki for specific questions; for example, I just searched for Robes and here's a listing of all of the robes in the game: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Clothing
It looks like none of them are enchanted, so if you want your robe to do anything, you should either complete the Mage Guild Recommendation Quest (which might be a good idea, anyway) or close the Kvatch Oblivion Gate and play sigil stone roulette until you end up with a Shock/Fire/Frost Shield sigil stone.

Imperials works to,but,as you said,a Breton fits betterbehnjymyn wrote:I'd recommend going with Breton. Decent enough physical stats, especially if you choose the Warrior birthsign, and a good magic pool for Restoration spells. If you're not too concerned with a little theft, you can get white monk's robes from the second floor of Weynon Priory.

My favourite robes are the tattered ones i found in Cann (i think), Shivering Isles. There are two types, beige and blue-grey and they are both unique items (ignoring the beige ones Ma'Iq wears).
Hand to hand, block, athletics, restoration, blade/blunt/marksman, acrobatics are all relevant to the character type.
My monk character carries 2 weapons and a mortar&pestle, has 2 pairs robes (travelling and exploring) and sandals. He has a couple of other useful bits and pieces, but he sells all his non-essential gear and donate the money to beggars, favourite shopkeepers, etc

the robes from Rindir's staffs in imperial city, marketplace, are very cheap, and the silk robe looks very good, when you say early, i assume u mean the second u get out of the dungeon, and if u have picked up all the gold of dead bodies etc, and sold some stuff, u should have around 100(+) septimes.
