I'm sorry, but what? No offense, but that was a fairly lame attempt at replicating a Southern accent :P

I live in Texas, but I have practiced and stopped saying most texan words. I certainly don't type/write them.

I think that King is from Texas, but I don't know. And yes.. that was terrible. In fact, it was so terrible, that I find it offensive.

Back everyone. Yesterday was pretty fun and pretty confusing at the same time. We were supposed to go to some museum, then go to a tortilla factory, then go to a day of the dead thing, but that's not exactly what happened. Instead, we went to the "tortilla factory", which turned out to be a small, family owned restaurant with some tortilla making machinery in the back. It was right next to the Dallas Cowboy stadium, though, so that was cool. Then we drove around for a while until we found the cultural center with the art. One of the exhibits that we were supposed to go to was closed, so we just stood for about half the time. We got some great pics from there. Then we went to the day of the dead exhibit, which turned out to double as the polling place for that region. The back of the building was right next to a lake, so we stood out there and enjoyed the scenery for most of the time that we were there. Poor Mrs. Green, the sponsor, didn't know that that would take so little time, so she was trying to get us in to see the Univision Spanish station studios that are in Dallas. We couldn't, so we spent most of that 2 hours in the Plaza of the Americas. I almost came out to one of the guys there because I was really getting tired of staying in the closet, but he told me at the last minute that he couldn't keep it a secret until I said he could tell someone (which, I don't plan on officially coming out in high school [I really wish I could, this in the closet business is starting to get hard], so "when I said he could tell someone" is actually never), so I just got depressed and took a walk around the building (Where I realized that what I really need is another closetted gay friend that I could relate to, but where are you ever going to find that in the Bible Belt?). Then we spent about an hour and a half trying to get to the Brazilian restaurant that we had a reservation at, called Rafain's, and traffic and navigation in Dallas is AWFUL, hold on, let me bold, italicize, and underline that... there; we arived about an hour late for our reservation, but we made up for it by paying off someone's Maserati, (the final total was $719, and that was at a half-price discount). It was worth it, though, because of how good it was. They came around with selections of meat on skewers (I postponed being a vegetarian, for now, because it was affecting my immune system. I've had the same virus for about a month). Then we started off for home. We were in Paul's Valley when Eric, the guy I almost came out to, got a text from his parents that Obama won. I knew it was going to happen, because when we left the restaurant it was 82 to 39, Obama (the only lead McCain had that night was at the beginning with 8 to 3. [Rafain's had a T.V. in the bar]). Like I said, we all new it was going to happen, but it was still a shock. That being said, the first word out of my mouth when he told us that on the bus was "damn". When we got into OKC I saw a giant LCD billboard with the letters "OBAMA WINS" surrounded by red, white, and blue. It was then that I realized that I enjoyed being in limbo, not knowing who was going to be the next president, then actually knowing who it was. This was reflected by Jon Stewart's entire corespondent staff on "Indecision 08". We got home at 11:15, about an hour later than we were supposed to, so go figure. That was about it. Anyway, just wanted to update you guys on the life of someone that you only know in thought. (Insert Conclusion Statement Here).

Well there are some shortcuts and backroads you can take that really help, sometimes it's just rush hour though, Dallas has rush hour for about 3 hours though.

I saw in one of my old posts that many people that I have not witnessed here on the forums for a few months were confirmed as gone. I need a second opinion, so I'm using the "Goodbyes" thread to determine if those people have actually bid us a fond farewell.

Here's a list of names that I have seen:

The Tourist
DorosTheConqueror (NOOO! He can't be gone! [His las post was actually before my time but I've read most of his and I just like the guy])
IronMaiden83 (Cactus can give us the official word on this one)

In the meantime I'll be searching their posts for an official goodbye. If I find any I'll take their name off the list.

I believe Tourist and Doros both joined up in the Air Force. IronMaiden stops in time to time. I believe she posted today.

I didn't mean to be insulting.. Anyway, I lived in Texas for a number of years so it bothers me when people.... have misconceptions about it. [One girl in my speech class thought everybody in texas rides horses...]

Well met.

I'm not exactly new here - I joined a while back under the name Morwen, but I've been away for a bit due to not having net access for a while. Anyhoo, I tried to reactivate my account, tried a new password but it wasn't having it, so I've created a new account. After playing Oblivion to death I've moved on to Morrowind GOTY. It's good to be back.

Welcome back.

Did you try the "I forgot my password" button? If you did and that didn't help, you could PM one of the Moderators and they may be able to help you reactivate your old account.

Yep, tried that. The weird thing is, I still had my original welcome e-mail with all the details on. Anyway, I thought about PM-ing one of the moderators, but I was impatient to get back, so I thought 'sod it, I'll create a new account.' Even if it means starting as a layman again.

Well welcome back Morwen! We here at the forums hope you enjoy your stay!

Now for the non-scripted stuff: Hey!! Grab a beer and join the fun! Don't listen to King about Kingly issues, Cactus is the true king of kingdomliness. Dark Lord has an army of zombies (spawned from when he read his particular brand of poetry to an audience at the Orpheum and they all died of shock and boredom. He was arrested for manslaughter, but his zombies took care of that one for him...). If anyone else wants to take it from here, I've got some posting to do.

Just so you know, yes, that is a sprok in my signature...and I guess I'll tell you the story...

Well, Mrs. T(eatime) noticed my attraction to Porkchop the boar.(I refuse to call him a pig!)So, since she already had a 'Fear the Spork' avatar, she changed it to, 'Fear the Daedric Spork of Pork'. So, that, is the story of me, Lunarsweets, Holder of the Spork, Mouth of Porkchop.
...and diplomacy continues to fail. Their ears fall deaf, and their eyes fall blind, yet they are still not mute. They will not know their errors. Only what they believe themselves. But we... we shall not be silenced.

I find it hard to follow a man whose avatar happens to be a bovine with boisterous bodily excretions. Personally I think your best avatar was Vincent, but I'm not the king on that issue, which consequently happens to be the only issue here that King is king of. The rest of us have presented a little "background" to go along with our names, but King has kept silent about his private past, to the point wherein I've become pedantic about posts that potentially illuminate any piece of the puzzle. Nevertheless, I think that if he did present us with a full report of his namesake, I would still be adverse to calling him our collective King. Quiescence is a quality that I have qualms about.
