I'm surprised that this hasn't attracted more attention on the forums. I assume everyone is busy playing. Has anyone started cataloging the changes?

haha once I saw the release I had to rush on over to the forums - I'm a bit surprised too, but since it was a somewhat sudden drop perhaps others will trickle in in time?
I haven't played yet but was curious to what the forum's real Oblivion heads thought of the remaster so far

After I saw the presentation and a few reactions online I immediately thought of the forums
I'm curious if they added some new content of their own (besides the new dlc weapon/armor quests).
Honestly if I didn't have other things planned this week I would crawl in a dark hole and just no-life the game.I'm really impressed so far by what Virtuos has done and I hope other Bethesda games get the same treatment!OblivionDuruza wrote:I'm surprised that this hasn't attracted more attention on the forums. More will come out over time, particularly among the editors for the Wiki I imagine.OblivionDuruza wrote:I'm surprised that this hasn't attracted more attention on the forums. I assume everyone is busy playing. Has anyone started cataloging the changes?
So far, only certain game mechanics have changed, apart from the expected graphics. Many changes are cataloged in the in-game Help menu of the Remaster.
The big change is levelling. All skills contribute to level ups, and you can level up -any- attribute no matter what skill you leveled. There is also one, distinct voice actor for reach race and gender. Dunmer do not share a VA with Bosmer or Altmer, for example.

I'm here because I'm pretty sure it's the only place to ask a question that anybody will understand and also possibly receive an answer:
Did they fix the a-bomb glitch?

I'm a little surprised too. I looked around for an "official" forum for the game, but to be honest, UESP didn't occur to me right away. For quite a while now, I've thought of UESP as the ESO go-to rather than the go-to for all things Elder Scrolls. There's the ESO official forum, but I don't know of one for the stand-alone games. There's also a large presence on the TES page on Facebook, but you can't really join it, just follow it, although you can reply to the page's posts.OblivionDuruza wrote:I'm surprised that this hasn't attracted more attention on the forums. There's also the Steam Community, which seems foreign to me for Oblivion. Skyrim, yeah, but not Oblivion. LOLOblivionDuruza wrote:I'm surprised that this hasn't attracted more attention on the forums. I assume everyone is busy playing. Has anyone started cataloging the changes?

I'm really enjoying it so far. Played the original to death so the changes are quite refreshing. Hopefully they patch some of the new bugs.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remaster is released
I remember I struggled with the original on 360. At the time I didn't play many games, and got Oblivion on the recommendation of some mates. Sadly without the internet to guide me I seriously had a bad time and gave up after 15-20 hours.
Now however, playing the remaster on PS5 with UESP open beside me should I need it... I'm having a blast! I had not idea the quests had such great storylines.

Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remaster is released
Heck, I finally get to play Oblivion with the background music turned on.
When I first got the Collector's Edition for the 360 back in 2006, the game would freeze within minutes of play if I had the music turned on. When that XBox 360 red-ringed and got replaced, I figured that would fix the problem. It didn't.
So maybe it was my copy of the game. No problem: I have the Game of the Year Edition with all the DLC now, so maybe I could turn on the music. Nope-- still locks up. Bought a brand-new 360 years after release: Maybe that will solve the problem when I install the GotY Edition-- nope.
It took 19 years and two console generations for me to finally have a copy of Oblivion that I could play with the score playing in the background. Hey-- did you know the music changes whenever danger is near by? How convenient...

Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.
