Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
Jyggalag ,as we all know, is known to have had the ability to deduce all possibilities through perfect logical deduction. So it had me thinking, Is it plausible to assume he knew he`d be cursed to exist as Sheogorath by his peers and if so to what ends would this benefit The Prince Of Order? Would it have deleted his previous nimic name and replaced it with a new one after COC mantled Sheogorath? Quite interested for any thoughts on this.

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
He obviously cannot predict everything. That claim fell apart the minute you defied logical prediction during the Symbols of Office quest and mantled Sheogorath.
Jyggalag's sphere of logical deduction is also at odds with Hermaeus Mora's status as Prince of Fate and the keeper of all knowledge. This, in turn, is in conflict with the forgotten Prince Ithelia's sphere, that being the road untravelled. I think there's a reason two of the three were locked away by their fellow Princes: the lore conflicts would destroy the setting, literally.

Destroy because Overlap or? Also did OG Jyg and Sheo share a nimic as one entity?

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
Well, Hermaeus Mora believes that Ithelia's existence threatens all of reality. We'll learn more in ESO's Gold Road Chapter. As for Jyggalag, the other Princes believed Order would spread and conquer all of Oblivion—not so much "destruction" as antithesis.
We don't know anything about Sheogorath's nymic unfortunately. If Haskill's Q&A is to believed, it seems like the Greymarch mantling cycle has happened before. Did Arden-Sul or the Hero of Kvatch assume an existing nymic when they became the Prince of Madness? It's unclear.

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
Well I`d of thought that COC woud`ve just had their nimic extended or altered? Like a Metaphysical C.V. almost or something? So I guess by that Logic the same would occur for OG Jyg unless the two were literally different entities? Though in legends I`m sure Sheo has Jyg`s memories so that would suggest to me they`re the same being so would that mean Jyg had the Sheo portions removed after the mantling?

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
In hindsight Legends is set after TESIV is it not? So that just raises more questions

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
It is. It implies the Hero, as Sheo, remembers being Jyggalag.

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
So in a way is the Sheogorath portion of Jyggalag sort of like a virus? In that its gone from consuming Jyg to COC instead? Is that like backwards mantling or does the individual become the niche that's filled type thing?

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
I think it's just regular old mantling. The wiki added an article very recently covering the subject: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Mantling

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
Is there a consistency issue there then? What I mean is, does the "mantler" assume Sheogorath AND Jyggalag? Or is there another reason as for why coc mantling Sheo divided the two where previous times it hadn't? I`d of thought the sheo portion (given its a curse) depended on a host of sorts to exist?

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
Apologies, it says in the article that defeating Jyg and halting the Greymarch was the difference. Why is that though?

Re: Jyggalag and the question of Prediction
Is it because Jyggalag is returned to "The Seas of Oblivion" to reform essentially while the Sheogorath portion remains attached to the mantled COC?
