Well, if you're playing Morrowind on a PC, there is the "TCL" (toggle collision) command in the console... :Twisted Evil:

Yeah, I think I had to use that once or twice to get out of being stuck in a rock or whatever.

And then there are those collision glitches where you're going along, minding your own business, when suddenly you find yourself falling through the world. That happened to me several times, such as when I was skipping through Vivec City-- literally skipping, because I was working on maxing out Acrobatics-- and my foot intersected with a ledge or ramp or other part of a canton in just the wrong way, causing the thin bubble of material reality to burst and send me plunging through the canton into the waters below.

But those aren't quite the same thing as a legitimate spell.

What are the statistical chances that the Nerevarine is named Nerevar or at least something very similar? I ask because in Dies Irae, everyone's reincarnations who are explicitly named are named the same or almost the same as their previous selves.

Same question but about physical appearance... Do we know what Nerevar even looks like?

Yes, but far more specific than accounts of the Neravarine, on purpose. Because the reincarnation is the player's character and entirely up to the player to decide appearances, the only canonical description we have is a male pronoun in an obscure secondary dialogue string.

I seem to remember an unofficial suggestion from Kirkbride that Nerevar's likeness was depicted in the Ordinator's Indoril helmets, but I am pretty sure that is not canon. Otherwise: yeah, we do not know a great deal about Nerevar's specific appearance. Then again, it's not really needed for gameplay. Anything that would restrict the Nerevarine/player character in some way wouldn't really be a true Elder Scrolls experience! And you can tell that, whatever he looked like, you certainly don't fit the bill anyway...'cause you're just a dirty outlander. Outlander. :P

And the "Laziest Quest-Giver" Award goes to...
Spoiler:
Edwinna Elbert, of the Ald'ruhn Mages Guild, for her quest "A Potion From Skink-in-Tree's-Shade"!

Seriously, Edwinna? Is it really too much effort for you to walk upstairs to the guild guide, teleport to the Sadrith Mora Mages Guild, and get the potion from Skink yourself? It takes a minute. One. Minute!

Sheesh. No wonder the Telvanni are taking over everything.

Anyone ever use hand-to-hand? Despite almost never being used, it's basically an instant win against any single opponent at max skill level if you can get the first hit in due to the extremely high stagger chance. It's amazing for stealth killing single enemies, since you can guarantee that first strike by sneaking up on your target.

That being said, it sucks in full frontal group combat. If you try punching your way toward a huge pack of Bloodmoon enemies for instance, you're going to get shredded very quickly. The health damage is also way too low, so if you don't want to spend years punching the opponent after you knock them down, it's a better idea to switch to a weapon to actually deal the killing blow.

Also, never use it with Paralysis, because that's basically restricting hand-to-hand to their weakest use (health damage), while locking them out of their primary use (draining fatigue to 0 and knocking the enemy to the ground).

I like to use hand-to-hand when I'm starting out, because it's usually the only way I can win against the Dark Elf who killed the tax collector-- thanks to that stagger you mentioned-- and I like to do that quest early on so I can use his hut as a base of operations.

Hand-to-hand is effective against most enemies as long as you can get in quickly and attack before they start hitting you with ranged weapons. And there's something satisfying about using cliff racers as punching bags-- as long as they don't gang up on you-- although hand-to-hand is useless against ghosts and such.

Another reason I like to use hand-to-hand early on is so I don't need to carry as much gear around, which lets me carry more loot. And unarmored goes well with hand-to-hand for that same reason.

I've used h2h a few times, typically when playing a monk type character. The only problem I've ever really had with h2h, was in the Tribunal expansion. Im pretty sure this was part of the main story, but I could be wrong, as it's been a long time since I played the Tribunal expansion, but I was fighting the king's bodyguard, the redguard guy, and once I got him down to half health, his health wouldn't go any lower with me punching him. And, since I was playing an h2h character, I didn't carry any other weapons on me,so I was basically stuck. I'd thought it might have been a glitch, so I reloaded my save right before I entered the throne room, but same thing happened.

Other than that, I've really enjoyed h2h in the past. Nothing beats good ol' longswords though; especially when you grab that sword from the guardhouse in Balmora...

I note that to cure yourself of vampirism or lycanthropy, to stop being a "monster" in body, the player needs to do some pretty "monstrous" things, like killing a Nord innocent or help Molag Bal kill Daedra who apparently aren't evil enough, according to his standards.

I'm surprised that killing a sanctioned law enforcer for slander alone doesn't lead to any political screwups: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Sury ... 7_Slanders Actually, is there any real game-breaking penalty for killing every last Ordinator, should you provoke them via a non-crime, such as wearing Ordinator armor or being seen trying to escort certain suspects: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Sapr ... s_(person) to a fair trial?

Here is a nitpicket: On the rules of Morrowind, your Intelligence rules how much mana you have, and your Willpower( According to the wiki ) rules how likely the spells you cast are to succeed. Wouldnt it make more sense if it were the other way around, though? That is: Wouldnt it make more sense if your-Willpower-Determined how much mana you have, and your-Intelligence-How likely your spells are to succeed? In other words, if your Intelligence reflected your actual skill and finesse with magic and your Willpower the kind of raw magical power you can tap into?

If you want the boring, real answer, Intelligence is how it is in Morrowind because traditional rpgs at the time typically used the INT stat to determine anything magic related--either magical power, maximum mana, or both. I doubt the creators gave it much more thought than that.

As for fan-made explanations, the possibilities are limitless. What we do know is that Magicka is supposed to be spirit energy from Aetherius that flows through living things. Individual living things have their own personal magicka reserves, which is what their magic is usually cast from. External magic batteries (enchanted items) use souls as power, so presumably magicka either attaches to, is generated by, or is a part of an organism's soul. That's about all we know.

If Intelligence determines maximum mana, it may make sense to think of it perhaps as a bottleneck rather than the actual determination of a person's magical potential? As in, you have more general knowledge to draw from, but at a certain point, your intelligence theoretically wouldn't increase your magicka bar. (even though it clearly does in Morrowind's game engine) This might explain why sapient beings create the most powerful soul gems (humanoids make black souls) with the exception of godlike entities like Vivec or Almalexia. Every sapient being may very well have extremely high natural magical potential just as a result of the species and soul that they are born with, but intelligence is needed to make use of any of it.

Anyway, that's the best explanation that I can think of.

I often call Bondrewd from Made in Abyss Dagoth Ur with clothes on, as if it were a bad thing, but I note that there are more Bondrewd memes on a Google search than Dagoth Ur memes. Is this how the Sixth House is honored?

Is the reason why most NPCs refuse to talk to vampire players due to a special script or just low disposition? If the latter, then in theory, that can be "solved" by spamming charm spells, right?
