Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Because the Champion's Tunic (Switch exclusive) takes up 3 item slots, in terms of enchanting effects, can it be enchanted with effects using for gauntlets, boots, and armor?

It's funny how almost every single race( even the current residents of Akavir) really want to relocate or invade to Tamriel.4E 201 would be a very bad time to do so, as we all know. Many have, yes, but many still want to.

If you stab something through the rectum with a soul trap weapon, would you be emulating a kappa?

Despite siding with the Empire in all other games, I sometimes forget why I tend to lean towards the Stormcloaks in Skyrim. Then I reminded myself:
This is grammatically a mess but rings truer: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Alduin_is_Real
This may have been written by a proper scholar but oozes pompous ignorance: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Aldui ... _Dichotomy

The bug section implies that the bug in question only happens with equipping the gauntlets and boots with the corresponding armor, but does this issue happen if you equip those same gauntlets and boots with other armors, such as Savior's Hide?

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Looking at the Blades in Skyrim, it seems that the Dragonborn Emperors really knew how to keep their war beasts muzzled, and I'm not talking about the dragons. The Blades remnants really think that they can manipulate a less experienced Dragonborn into furthering their own feuds that even the Dragonborn Emperors told them to get over. Of course, the old Dragonguard were literally snake men: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Tsaesci_(race) that may or may not have looked like this: https://koei.fandom.com/wiki/Unit_Types ... rs_Orochi)

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Ya, the Blades in skyrim really forgot the more essential part of their order. As much as it is that only a dragonborn can truly slay a dragon, and also true that a fledgling dragonborn needs mentorship.. a puppet they are not n they can deem whom is prey and who is friend. The mere notion that the Blades somehow can corner the dragonborn is folly, they need him more than he needs em
Heck, Tiber kept a red dragon in his legion and I doubt that he was the only one under the banner.
Also I feel the Blades lose alot of good by feuding with my mate Parthy not only for the dragonborn's own well being(two mentors with vastly different lessons to address their problems) but also in that they can address their own problem.. the dragon scourge. I am sure they could work something out both would agree with

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Further by the fact that the original Blades AKA the Dragonguard were literal vampire snake men. I'm not sure if I want to be lectured by them about what does or does not constitute a "monster". This is basically why I also find it hypocritical that the dark elves are the most... judgmental of those who are... vitally challenged, given their own policies on the living, such as slavery and religiously encouraged backstabbing.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
In a completely unrelated topic, one of my coworkers said that I lack empathy. This is false. Rather, it's just that I tend to empathize with characters that most other people don't, even if it means that I don't empathize with characters that most other people do, as a result. For example, I totally and completely empathize with Hermaeus Mora's obsession with collecting forbidden knowledge, even if that knowledge is completely and totally useless, such as Mora brain-draining a shaman just to get the secrets of the Skaal.

Please remain moderately on topic. There exist General or Rants if necessary, but reminder that the forums are normally PG13 for a reason
Personally I've used both to vent off thoughts or steam. Sometimes a lil too much

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Fair enough, but did I already rant about the hypocrisy of dark elf society, especially before the Empire's influence (which has probably waned since the Empire pulled out)?

In Oblivion, we saw Daedric tanks. In that regard, what does Velehk Sain's ship look like? A normal ship or a Daedric ship with the color scheme of the aforementioned tank?

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
When looting "Watches-The-Roots" in Avanchnzel. Has anyone ever looted his corpse without finding a silver amethyst ring? If not, it may indicate that he was married to From-Deepest-Fathoms and not just a part of the group or sibling. As by Argonian maritial traditions they present their partner with a silver amethyst ring. (Though in that scenario a silver ring with 3 flawless amethysts but since the lack of amount of Argonians and the fact that you marry in the Temple of Mara in Skyrim, there may have not been a point to design a tri-embedded amethyst ring)

I often feel like this guy: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Legate_Fasendil And it's a good feeling. I'm ethnically Chinese, and I proudly side with the "American Empire" against the Chinese Communist Dominion. Of all the Thalmor that this Legate has killed, I wonder how many called him a "race traitor" in their dying breaths. Not sure about his, but it would certainly be music to my ears.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
There is a Chinese expression 一不做二不休 It's basically the Asian equivalent of Washington crossing the Delaware or Caesar crossing the Rubicon. In other words, finish what you started. However, the more direct translation is "don't do bad things, but if you do, don't stop". The specific scenario that the idiom was made for is "don't have second thoughts about killing the emperor after you've broken into the palace because trespassing into the palace is already a death sentence". In other words, remorse is deadly weakness. The reason that I bring this up is to call out anyone calling for Paarthurnax's death. If you think that this idiom is "evil", well, by killing Paarthurnax, you've proven this idiom 100% correct, regardless of your moral views.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
MidbossVyers, I guess you're right about it.
Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Skyrim strikes me as more of a blank canvas than a fully realised game.
It has an incredible sense of place, and the cohesion between all of the environments is the best it has ever been in TES, possibly with the exception of Morrowind. The environmental storytelling is incredible, and there's something to look at around every corner, as well as little dopamine hits no matter which path you take, whether it's a cool vista, an expected dungeon, a bit of story, or whatever. It doesn't hurt that arctic/snow fantasy settings are relatively uncommon (I have a major soft spot for them).
The plot is mediocre, but there are some good moments and setpieces, as you mentioned. The ascent to High Hrothgar is also unforgettable.

Dwemer/Ideal Masters Lore Theory
————————————————————
SPOILER ALERT!
Sorry if there was a better place to put this, or if this topic was already brought up. It’s my first time joining a forum. I really wanted to throw this out here, because it was so mind-blowing to me!
My theory is…
I have reason to believe that the Dwemer Race are the infamous Ideal Masters. There are many points leading to this conclusion, and I’ll keep them short and simple with list form.
Reasonings:
• The Dwemer Race disappeared without a trace as to where they’ve gone. This compliments lore that the Ideal Masters were once mortal beings who created, and transcended into, the Soul Cairn.
• Dwemer Ruins have torture chambers with cruel devices. This leans towards conjuration experiments; similar to Wuunferth the Unliving’s crazed rantings in his Butcher’s Journals from the quest, Blood on the Ice. This point compliments the lore in which the Ideal Masters are believed to be conjuration sorcerers.
• The Dwemer Race conned the Snow Elves into slavery after promising them sanctuary. Similarly, the Ideal Masters also con their captives with white lies.
• Dwemer Animunculi often times drop Soul Gems(empty or filled) upon death. Dwemer’s central hub, Blackreach, contains Geode Veins; which also produce plenty of Soul Gems when mining them. Since Soul Gems have strong connections to the Soul Cairn, it’s only right to reference this point to my theory.
• Within the Soul Cairn is a book called, The Book of Life and Service. In this book it reads, ”Blessed are the Masters, for they bridge the past and span the future.” Moth Priests say that no one knows who wrote the Elderscrolls. Additionally, they say Elderscroll translations vary among each reader; presenting either the past or the future. Furthermore, Septimus Signus claims that the Dwemer Race have a method to comprehend the Elderscrolls through machinery, hidden in their ruins. I find this method to be superior, because no mortal pays the toll of reading an Elderscroll. Lastly, one could conclude that scroll readers are giving up parts of their souls when reading an Elderscroll; similar to entrance within the Soul Cairn’s portal.
With that, I conclude my theoretical argument. I hope this was as much of a brain teaser for you all as it was for me! Please let me know your thoughts, and don’t hold back!

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
^Interesting idea.
-----
'Most Annoying NPC' is now Imp from the mod Carved Brink.
Imagine your dad trying to do an impression of Sheogorath and Jack Sparrow at the same time, and then imagine that the volume has been set a bit wrong so if you're wearing headphones then it's like someone SHOUTING IN YOUR EAR.
Come back Nazeem, all is forgiven.*
* Just... don't mention the Cloud District. Or your farm. Or the Jarl. Or 'Elven Spices'. And stop hitting on Ysolda and go fix your marriage instead.
Could have made your own thread. It will get lost in this one.Jorum wrote:Sorry if there was a better place to put this

How do I create my own thread? If possible, could you copy and paste this and do it for me; under your name? I don’t mind for credit, I just really want this idea out there.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
I could, if you can't get it to work - but it's pretty straightforward really.
Just nip into the Lore area:
viewforum.php?f=30
Click on the 'New Topic' button (just above or just below the list of threads) then put
Dwemer/Ideal Masters Lore Theory
or something in 'Subject' and your post in the other big textbox. Then you can click 'Preview' to see what it will look like and 'Submit' to post it. Job done.
If spam-bots can figure it out I'm sure you will be fine with it!
That being said, apparently the 'Discord' messaging thing is where all the action is these days. But hopefully people will still see it if it has a thread of its own.
-----
Something on-topic... Let's see...
So yes I have started playing mods on Skyrim. (finally
)
Clockwork is worth checking out if you haven't done so already.
There's a cool spooky bit at the start and a nice-looking Dwarven dungeon area to explore.
I strongly recommend a character with the Dwarven Smithing perk and...
if you don't plan on using the Player Home then...
