Whiterun in Skyrim has always felt like a small agrarian town to me, far from the massive trade hub it is in the lore. The city should be more densely packaged, but none of the city overhaul mods I've seen really do that. They all keep the feel of Whiterun intact, but the feel of Whiterun is its most immersion breaking aspect. I cannot take it seriously as a trade hub when it's so sparse and so rural.
Are there mods that change the feel of Whiterun to be more urban and dense?

Expanded towns and cities really helps expand whiterun. The mod doesn't actually change the interior of the city, but creates a market complex outside of the city gates and stables. It makes the city feel much more dense, expanding past its walls

There's historical precedent for that. It would take a while for travelers to be permitted entry into a walled city, so a suburb would sort of spring up around the gates to accommodate the people waiting to get in.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.
