Sages, or those with a lot of thyme on their hands.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

I'm like the worst kind of old, though. I've been here way longer than most, but plenty of people have been here way longer than me. It's like fake old.

What is happening in here? Did someone light the veteran-members beacon? Did you all see the light signal in the sky?

Why is it suspicious that all the UESPoomers decided to return all at the same time?

It's not like we're planning a takeover or anything...

Don't tell me my business devil-woman.

Back in my day, all us UESPoomers had to walk 20 miles uphill through the snow with no shoes, just to post in the Welcomes/Goodbyes thread.

I am old, UESP. I don't look it, but I am beginning to feel it in my heart of hearts. Well-preserved indeed! Why, I feel all thin, sort of stretched, if you know what I mean: like butter that has been scraped over too much bread. That can't be right. I need a change, or something.

And, I literally do remember when there wasn't a welcomes and goodbyes thread, forget the uphill both ways bit, it wasn't even here haha.

There's a strange sort of melancholy I feel looking back through these forums, looking back through user names that used to frequently pop up when the whole General Discussion section was just beginning. It's a bit like finding an old year book and seeing pictures of people you knew long ago. Or visiting an old work place or school after hours. Seeing how quiet the forums are is odd to me. It's crazy to think that more than a decade ago, I frequented these virtual halls more than I did almost anywhere else. Though I didn't join when I was as young as some members did, the UESP still feels like a very formative part of my life. Looking back through the old lists it's crazy to see that out of the members that joined before I did, truly only a handful or two are still around and active. The users that I got to know as a lurker that encouraged me through their knowledge of Morrowind, before I had Oblivion, are basically not here anymore. The UESP was my first real foray into an internet community, and essentially still remains my only real online community and its with an odd nostalgia that I look back on my time here.

Eh, don't mind me. There are a lot of things changing in my life and I couldn't help but reminisce. With the discord being the new way of forum-ing, I guess I'm a bit like the guy at the old west saloon. I'll stay seated in the corner, sipping my warm brown rot-gut, watching the new-fangled automobiles roll by out in the street. And should any of the old riding posse stumble in for a drink, there they'll find me still, with an open seat and a glass for them.

If you could "thumbs up" posts on this forum, that right there would have the Believe Thumb of Approval (TM).

I feel ya bro. (And I'm even forum-younger than you)...

[&@%!] it, I've had a couple beers. Scrib gets TWO thumbs.

If you wanna get sappy about it; when I was a kid I used to excitedly log onto here just to see what people like Goldbrand, Hat, or Argo had posted so I could interact with people I recognised. I had zero online presence when I joined here, so really there wasn't much else I could do but check the forums on my horribly-slow, dated internet, and play Hexen.

I'm v new compared to y'all but still the forums were my first online community and I have v good memories from back when I was first on and they were more active. It wasn't the forums at their peak, but it was lovely enough.

Lately I've been playing League of Legend's Teamfight Tactics! I know that League can have a bit of a rep but I genuinely enjoy TFT (even if I suck at it, bhhh). And it's freeeee

It really hasn't.

Sure there are a few more sub-forums these days, and a while back we updated them to show more posts per page, but they look identical to the day I joined. I think it almost makes the nostalgia hurt even more
