Why am I flipping out of 1st person?
I am spontaneously flipping out of first person into third person, usually in the middle of fights, usually when I have a bow, but not always. I went through and deleted 80% of my saves in case clutter was causing it but it didn't stop. I went back and started playing an old character mage build and it still is happening, though not as frequently as with the archer.

Was it Oblivion that introduced a "killcam" for critical hits on ranged attacks? I vaguely remember having a similar issue. There may be a related visual setting in the options menu.
His name was Emer Dareloth.

It may have something to do with my mouse roller acting wonky too, even though I am flipping when nothing is being touched.

Wonky mouses can cause all sorts of problems.
I have the same problem-- switching views unexpectedly-- in all of the ES games that have the view option, and I think part of the problem is the mouse roller, but it can also happen by accidentally pressing the wrong key on the keyboard.
Now that I have a new computer with different keyboard and mouse, the problem doesn't happen as much.
But keyboards can go wonky as well, especially if you use the keyboard to play a game that involves continuously pressing certain keys, or mashing them forcefully and repeatedly during intense gameplay. I had a keyboard that would sometimes register a different key in addition to the W-- I forget which one, but it was one of the keys in the general vicinity of the W.
I also had a laptop than started to register unexpected keypresses if my hands were resting on the body of the laptop to either side of the track pad.
EDIT: I think the ES games-- or any game where you find yourself pressing forcefully and repeatedly on the mouse buttons-- can put a lot of wear and tear on a mouse, causing them to go very wonky. It might be time to try a different mouse to see if it solves the problem.

It does sound like a mouse issue.
You're thinking of Skyrim. It introduced this in a patch and the effect can cause some weird camera rolling.Imbalance wrote:Was it Oblivion that introduced a "killcam" for critical hits on ranged attacks?
