SI Addiction Quest - Attribute above 100

Post by Voidtrekker »

So I heard about a quest called Addiction in Shivering Isles in which you get addicted to Felldew and this causes -attributes, which then allows you to level up with the debuff and then when it's cured your stats can be above 100 base. My question is does the stat have to be at 100 before you attempt this or even if it is below 100 and you level during the Felldew debuff it will raise the maximum value for that attribute? For example:

Strength: 100 (before Addiction quest)
Strength: 85 (peak felldew addiction, -15 strength)
Strength: 115 (after curing Addiction (assuming +5 on each level for strength))

second example of not being 100

Strength: 50
Strength: 35
Strength: 65
but when you get to 100 will it stop you leveling? or will it allow you to go up to 115 later like in the first example? does timing matter?

Hopefully someone out there knows, thanks

Yes. You need to use the 'boost' you get from actually curing the Addiction to get above 100.
So in your example you'd need to do this:

Strength: 50 (before Addiction quest)
Strength: 35 (peak felldew addiction, -15 strength)
Strength: 100 (after leveling up 13 (!) times (assuming +5 on each level for strength))
Strength: 115 (after curing Addiction)

The closer you are to 100 before you start doing this the less you need to mess around leveling up whilst under the effect of Felldew.

The closer you are to 100 when you cure the addiction the more benefit you get. I mostly only do 2 level-ups using Felldew so my mage's INT goes from 100 to 85 to 95 and ends up at 110.

INT: 100 (before Addiction quest)
INT: 85 (peak felldew addiction, -15 INT)
INT: 95 (after leveling up twice (assuming +5 on each level))
INT: 110 (after curing Addiction)

110 becomes the new maximum and then cannot be increased further from the Felldew effect or normal leveling.

Technically I could have gotten another 5 points by leveling up a third time before curing the addiction (for 100 to 85 to 100 and then 115) but I stick with 2 level-ups. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Awesome information. Couple follow ups if anyone knows. Can I use Mara's Blessing to have 105 Endurance then do the Felldew quest to get 115 total Endurance after everything is said and done (since Felldew only does -10 instead for Endurance)? Or do the two conflict and you lose the Mara's Blessing? Also max vampire status grants +20 stats (therefore +20 endurance). Does that bonus endurance work for permanent health increase on levels? Thanks!

I am not 100% sure about this but it seems to me that if you are not careful it will have the opposite effect:

END: 100 (before Addiction quest)
END: 105 (before Addiction quest & with Mara's Blessing)
END: 95 (peak felldew addiction, -10 END)
END: 100 (after leveling up once)
END: 110 (after curing Addiction)
END: 105 (after removing Mara's Blessing)

To get your 115 just do the Felldew stuff like normal (with no Blessings) to get Endurance 110 and then pick up Mara's Blessing. I reckon that should work okay - you'd need to keep that Blessing permanently though.

According to the wiki Vampirism only affects Strength, Willpower & Speed, not Endurance.

How does this work with other boosts, such as the ones you get from the Gray Prince? Do you need to get the felldew addiction boosts first, then get the boosts from the Gray Prince? Or can you get the boosts from the Gray Prince first, then get additional boosts from the felldew addiction?

EDIT -- Sorry, I think this was sort of answered in connection with Mara's blessing. Best to do the felldew addiction first. I'm glad I haven't gotten the boosts from the Gray Prince yet! :)

iirc the Gray Prince thing affects skills. The Felldew glitch affects attributes - so there's no conflict between the two (unless getting the skill boost messes up your leveling plans :/ ).

^ I guess so. I think carrying the Scales of Pitiless Justice and being a Vampire would also interfere.
