Ressoar
"Time to work I guess." He says whislts attempting to put on a serious demeanor. Should we have some guys in position during negotiations incase things go south."
He looks over his equipment one last time before pulling out one directional charge along with a blast cap and primer.
Handing it over to Oni. He says " Ideally you won't need this but it'll give you a door fast. All set up just activate the primer and give it a click. " he says calmly. "Ideally you won't have to use it."
He then mumbles to himself " cause I want to."

Re: Searching For Utopia
The Negotiation Team: Zen
Zen smiled as Tejon took charge of the situation and created the teams. "Sounds good to me." She supressed a sigh of irration as Ressoar took out a charge and handed it to Oni. "No. It's far more efficent to have the other team focus on infiltration whilst we try to play nice with them." She hoped that he wasn't gonna to be a liability to the team. She hated working with people who preferred to go in loud and dumb. It even cost her a VIP on few occassions because someone opened fire and blew the plan up. "Trust is one of our weapons." She looked at Ressoar. "We may discover a use for them or a perfect scapegoat for the authorities and by getting them to rent him to us, we can use the implied fate of a very nasty death to get him to co-operate if he decides to be a pain in the backside." She stretched her neck from side to side. "But as for the mission itself, who's willing to talk?" Her tone went causal as she stretched her back via moving her shoulders backwards and forwards.

Ressoar
Ressoar looked at his teammate with frustration. Thinking to himself that Zen isn't as friendly as he thought, atleast compared to everyone else."This isn't some random thing. It's a useful tool to help them out if they need a way out fast. Also an explosion. If they wish I can cut up some c4 or pull out a few shells to make a hinge-breaker." He pulls out a shotgun shell and his knife. " I know it seems crazy but I can actually go a full five minutes without mythbusting or breaking bad." He says as he tries to pry the gun powder out of the casing

Re: Searching For Utopia
Oni nodded in affirmation to Tejon, as if to her, he was always team leader. But following that, as the demo tried handing her the explosive, she made no move to accept it at first "No" before pressing it back to the man. In a short glimpse, instead of metallic prosthetics or the van, she saw to mangled stumps in a wartorn shelter "Your job. Not mine" Her stare had a certain bite to it, as if negotiating was never an option between the two
She pushed back and sat beside Tejon, like she was just another one of his dolls to bid "Team leader talks. You. Backup" as if clarifying his earlier statement

Re: Searching For Utopia
Ria
Ria was, similarly to Rose, horrified by the conversation that had started around her. It was extremely unsettling to hear the others talk so casually - even eagerly - of torture and murder. She tried to shut out the conversation and her reaction to it: no matter who they were or what they'd done, they were her future patients.
Once Rose had steered the conversation away from such things, Ria paid more attention. She assumed, since Tejon hadn't named her, that she was with the infiltration group. That made sense; she might be needed to treat Sergei immediately upon finding him. She just hoped that she wouldn't get mixed up in any fights.
She reached into her bag, pulled out an armband (white with a red cross on it), and tied it high on her arm. She didn't know if any of their enemies would have the sort of morals that would motivate them to spare a medic, but she hoped there was at least a slight chance it'd give her some protection.

Re: Searching For Utopia
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 02/08/2042::6:23pm
The traffic grew denser and denser as the group drew on Rio, vehicles of all stripes merging into the busy five lane network. Drawing near, Rio seemed a majestic sight. It gleamed with success and opportunity: in South America, if you were looking to make it big, you came to Rio. In the last decade, it had been the landing site of trillions in foreign direct investment. The buildings were new, sleek, incorporating the latest in architectural design, and being owned by the biggest companies in the country, not as densely plastered with advertisements. Sliding off onto one of the radial routes which would bring them round the city, they passed rows of modern apartments. Located in the affluent neighbourhoods dotted across the south-central, each complex patrolled the branch of some major private security firm--though, dominantly, the Southern Corps, the Potanin Group, or KrakenIO. They passed through in time for work day's close, folk in business suits climbing up from the metro station which underpinned the city, or moved briskly along in their own self-driving cars; the prosperity they'd been handed had given way to a surging consumer economy and community bars and restaurants had already begun to echo with raucous laughter of patrons.
The separation between this affluence and the slum villages on the northern outskirts was so sudden as to feel austere. It started with a bump in the road, and then, suddenly, there was none. Dwellings sprung from every corner: sheet metal and plaster, and rancid enough in disposition to have one question their habitability. But they were certainly habitable. They rose high into the sky, bound ceiling to floor, in precarious structures, and they housed millions of people. While the government moved to clear them from time to time--extending incentives to go and live out by the country or simply moving in with bulldozers when middle class petitioning became too loud, without clearing the underlying poverty one found they simply sprung back up again.
The van was required to slow as road gave way to a common space. They navigated by women who washed clothes in handbasins, as if the washing machine hadn't been invented almost a century ago. Their sons played football on a makeshift playing field, no real direction to the actions they marched barefoot from point to point, crossing streams slick with washwater and defection. The children cleared way slowly for the van, one shouted something in a dialect none of them really understood. They didn't see many other vehicles on their ride: a few taxis owned by residents, and a tour bus advertising 'The Favela Experience' packed out with young, white twenty-somethings absorbing the macabre theatre; there was at least one armed guard on it.
Then they came to a halt. The door swung open. The stench which hit them was almost unbearably strong, enough to send a shot of nausea up in even the strongest of them. Rose seemed the first to recover and she was all business. "Infilitration can get out here. We're a mile from the place, best you not get seen with us." She paused to give them time to get out. "The rest of us, we can drive right up the the entrance and go ask for our guy."
A pause sounded, before: "Sound good?"

Donald
The assassin's nose wrinkled at the foul stench that entered the van. Still repulsed, he removed a royal blue handkerchief from his jacket pocket and wiped over the biometric scanner of his briefcase. It was never good to leave any residual thumbprint behind.
He then put away his handkerchief and stood up, clutching the handle of the hard case in his right hand.
"Is their a discrete compartment where I can store my belongings?"
Donald asked Rose.

Oni - Rio Slums
She didn't take a half minute, standing up and walking out to the very edge of the van. Holding a hand upon the top, she looked back, and with her free hand, pointed at Donald, Ren, and Ria "On me" being quick and to the point. Hopping off the van, she already began to scout out their immediate surroundings

Ria - Favelas
Ria gagged at the stench, pulling her collar up her nose over a few moments to try to filter it out as she got used to it. She gave a nod when Oni pointed at her, put her pack on her back, and followed the assassin.

Zen
She is asking to be shot and quite naive if she believes that the armband will stop them from, how do the yanks put it? Busting a cap in yo ass? They won't care for the geneva convention. If I were them and I spotted the medic, I would take her out first. Take out the medic and can damage morale. Still, if they don't suspect we are sending in another team, they may not have time to even line up a single shot. As the van stopped and the doors opened, a foul stench invaded her nostrils but her prior experiences in dealing with stenches such as these gave her a tolerance of it. "Jeez, I thought I would never smell this again." She remarked without bothering to take measures as a result of her training and past experiences.

Re: Searching For Utopia
Rose nodded to Donald's inquiry: "I'll take care of storing them."
Their immediate surroundings were of limited interest. The van was stopped in a more open space: the ground tough and unpaved. To their sides the Favelas rose, some of them six or seven stories tell. Their proximity to each other suggested that someone adept at acrobatics would have no issue going over the tops of them and covering miles at the height. Otherwise some peered out of their cramped homes but most knew not to bother the armed strangers stepping out into their community.

Re: Searching For Utopia
Oni kept looking around, waiting for Donald and Ren, before adding "Tucan." Addressing straight at Tejon while pointing straight up into the sky. She had seemed to be suggesting he scout from the aerial view, or follow their path

Donald
Donald eyed Rose, almost suspiciously.
"Very well."
He placed his briefcase down beside her.
"But take care of it. Do not tamper with it. Do not try to open it. Make sure it isn't on show and don't treat it roughly." The well dressed man instructed.
He stepped off the van and looked at his surroundings. He screwed up his nose again, this time from the unpleasant sights, as well as the smell.
How disgusting.
Donald looked down at his shoes to check he wasn't standing near, or in, any of the muck that littered the streets.

Ressoar, negotiations
After seeing how the charge wouldn't be accepted Ressoar returned it to his bag. He then returned to robotically pulling black powder out of the shot gun shells till he had a small bag worth, putting it away he then watched the scenery change into the favelas. He calmly watched as the infiltration team walked into the urban jungle. The scent was bad but he tried his best not to wear his reaction.
"Okay we need to come in there with a game plan. We can't just hop into in there expecting us to give up that degenerate of a hacker. We should have something to help sweeten the deal or pretend to have something atleaat." He said to the whole group

Tejon, negotiations
Tejon opened the case containing Tucan and let the drone fly up into the air, it was given instructions to maintain distance but follow Oni. "Can't give him my full attention what with the negotiations, so let me know if you really need me. Otherwise he'll just hang out. So stay safe, try not to get into too much trouble." said Tejon giving them a friendly wave as the group departed.
The drone specialist then turned to address Ressoar. "Well, a good first step would be not calling people degenerates. It tends to hurt feelings. In fact, let's just try not to hurt their feeling in general, yes?" He nodded at Rose. "Rose, your bosses are the money behind all this. How much can we play with for the buy? Or can this only be a distraction?"

Re: Searching For Utopia
Rosa gave a look to Donald which suggested appreciate being instructed, before slamming the door shut.
Otherwise, Donald found that it was impossible to step anywhere without stepping into something which dirtied his shoe. He was lucky if it wasn't human excrement.
The Negotiations Group
The van headed off after that, covering about a mile before the building came into sight. It seemed of a similar architectural genre to it's surroundings, that is to say a mishmosh of scavenged plasterboard and recycled tin, bound together in precarious structure. However, as they drew closer they could recognise that at least some portion of the building was an old, brick-and-motor establishment which likely pre-dated much of the shanty which surrounded it. Plastered on the exterior walls were left-wing slogans: screeches of acid directed at both bourgeoisie and imperialist masters. On all sides it was surrounded by 6, 7 foot shanties. The van automatically backed into a spot which resembled a parking space--a gap between two other vehicles. They were observed by at least three other men, out vaping, one of which was armed. The sound of light neo-electronica could be heard from the building--it was opening time, seven pm.
"Shut up, follow my lead."
That was Rosa. It was the last thing she said before swinging the door open and exiting the vehicle. She nodded to them to follow.
With a sense of purposefulness she strode up to the entrance. The man at the door, the man with a gun at his waist, gave her a look but didn't push her. Obviously he wasn't a bouncer. Stepping into the place, they could see that it did pick up a non-trivial amount of traffic. About 15 people lounged around, crowded around grubby metal desks, drinking yellow stuff from plastic glasses. The bar area itself was much smaller than the exterior gave an impression of: at most it might have fit 20, maybe 30 folk, but the building suggested space for as much as three times that. The backrooms must have been quite large.
The bar-tender looked up next, "What do yous want?"
"We'd like to speak to your boss." That was Rosa, before any of them could respond.
"I am my boss."
"Then you have something of ours."
His gaze lingered across them, spending a few seconds on each. "And who the [&@%!] are yous?"
Infiltration Group
The drone flew up high into the sky and possessed a bird's eye view of the entire situation. The favela's truly were massive, stretching far into the distance. They probably housed two, three million people. Zipping close to the bar, they could get a look at the surrounding infrastructure. The building itself was a single story, about 40 percent of it was brick and mortar, likely predating the shanties constructed around by decades. There was men out at the front entrance, but a second entrance seemed to exist at the back. However, it was fenced off. You could head around the shanties and approach the back entrance without being seen from the front.
This all appeared in Tejon's cybervision, but it would be a trivial task to stream the feed to Oni's own vision through an encrypted channel.

The Zen Negotiator: Negotiation Team
Zen followed Rosa whilst keeping her senses tuned to the sound of any trouble. She knew how easy it was for people to disappear in slums and how certain gangs hated people of a certain definition coming into their space but doubted that they would be attacked. For now. After arriving and Rosa's introduction, she looked at her nails before being asked who she was. "Someone who has a proposal for you regarding our property." She slowly ceased to look at her nails and adjusted her hat. She knew from experience that if this went south, they would be in for a bit of a tought fight due to the numbers being on the gang's side and those numbers did not lie.

Re: Searching For Utopia
Oni started to veer off a different trajectory as so to not tread upon the same path as the van. With the eye in the sky, there was no need for her to scout above the shambled roofs while the rest traversed below. Instead, she simply needed to insure they got to the destination from a new angle, meanwhile pending on Tejon to open up a feeds channel

Tejon
Tejon didn't inject, Rosa said to follow her lead and that's what he was doing for now. He did however shoot a message to Oni, sharing the video feed from Tucan with her.

Ria - Infiltration Group
Ria followed the assassin through the Favelas. Though she occasionally looked curiously at the drone overhead, she kept a watchful eye on their surroundings in case of trouble. Drawing a little closer to Oni so that she could keep her tone low, she asked, “Any plan so far?”

Donald - Infiltration Group
Despite his unsavoury surroundings, Donald kept the task in mind and scoped the visuals that he could see around him.
The darkness of night having recently set in, he activated the night vision setting of his eyes as he walked in the same direction as his colleagues.

Re: Searching For Utopia
Oni's eyes flickered in a low glow, operating at it's most minimal while the video feed filtered through.
She stalked through the slums, keeping the rest on course. After a bit, and while she kept about to make sure things were safe "Scout and access.." she said short and simply, as if fighting was far from their priorities "Then we go from there.."

Ria - Infiltration Group
Ria nodded, though the answer hadn’t told her anything she hadn’t already known. “Just let me know what to do, if you need me.” Seeing the glow of Oni’s eyes, Ria was reminded of her own cybernetics, and turned on her infrared vision.
