Remember to purchase as many sawn logs as you can get when you pass near any lumber mill, as they tend to be rather out-of-the-way.

Went over my head at first....I need to play more Elder Scrolls. I was genuinely thinking how lumber mills are out of the way and in shady neighborhoods.

I downloaded and played Hearthfire for the first time last week. Running out of lumber got real annoying real quick.

I'm off to camp tomorrow for 5 weeks, but I get days off once a week so I don't think it's really worthy of a goodbye in the W&G thread. So I am simply doing an announcement here. ^-^

I'm heading to Switzerland this Tuesday to visit my siblings, and I'll be out of touch for several days. We are planning to go to see a glacier that might disappear in several years. Then I'll head to Germany for a summer job before the next year at a university starts and I'll have to get back to Poland.

Good luck with your move, Beta! I hope it goes smoothly and you settle in nicely. :D

Oh, glaciers. What a beautiful sight. I got the opportunity to see a few in Iceland about two years ago. It was really lovely. There are so many wonderful things to see in the world.

Yes indeed! There's a lot to see, and it takes more than a lifetime to do so. I'll post some photos from my journey, as well as some photos made earlier once my account will receive the permission.

Have fun in Switzerland, Snehk! The glacier does sound good; though it's a notice in global warming that it might not be there in the future.

I added you to the confirmed users so you can post your photos. Something tells me you got some good ones!

Thanks! Already uploaded my (mostly) crude photos in the photography thread! It's estimated that this particular glacier might disappear in five years or so.

Ohh, please do. I went to Iceland in the summer months, so, while we still got to see quite a bit of glaciers, I think it was more green than one usually imagines when thinking of the country. :P Still made for a beautiful trip, and more of the roads were open so it was really nice to travel relatively unrestrained.

I did like the Eyjafjallajökull glaciers. It traps ash from the volcano's eruptions and was decidedly cool to me.

If yall like reading check out Mawson's Will. About an English (?) polar explorer and basically everything that can go wrong does. Short read but jaw dropping and makes you appreciate all the things you have in life.

I definitely would like to do more traveling. Probably my favorite thing ever would be to travel the silk road but I don't wanna get kidnapped. Trekking across the Sahara would be fun as well, but I don't wanna get kidnapped.

Yes, please don't get kidnapped. That would really put a damper on things, I imagine. :o

I guess danger is relative, but definitely something to consider. You got to really know your stuff to travel alone. I can't think of a foreign country I ever went to where I felt in danger, even when I got stuck during some interesting times (got stuck in the middle of a anti-government riot once, that was something), but then again, I've always made it a point to travel with someone I could trust. Hmmmm.

Few questions: Does this include our European allies? If not (in deemed 'safe' countries) is this a general rule of thumb? To be frank, would this apply more to women than men?

This is something I've wondered about: if I ever travel to somewhere that's rough around the edges do I take anyone with me? I would get a fixer for sure but I imagine I'd travel alone. I say alone for a couple reasons actually not because I'd want to be alone. If I did let someone come with me we'd have to be on the same page.

It'd take one unique cookie to wanna travel with me anyway. I have some weird obsession with traveling to places that are off the beaten path. Haven't done this yet but will do one day I'm sure.

EDIT: I must go to Egypt one day. I wouldn't consider it dangerous but I also want to explore pyramids/burial sites/etc which exists outside Egypt (Sudan) and those places can get sketchy.
