The general tension was horrible. To a season of political and social upheaval was added a strange and brooding apprehension of hideous physical danger; a danger widespread and all-embracing, such a danger as may be imagined only in the most terrible phantasms of the night. I recall that the people went about with pale and worried faces, and whispered warnings and prophecies which no one dared consciously repeat or acknowledge to himself that he had heard. A sense of monstrous guilt was upon the land, and out of the abysses between the stars swept chill currents that made men shiver in dark and lonely places. There was a daemoniac alteration in the sequence of the seasons—the autumn heat lingered fearsomely, and everyone felt that the world and perhaps the universe had passed from the control of known gods or forces to that of gods or forces which were unknown.
Dr. Travis Walker worked as an FBI forensic pathologist for a long time. He'd been a Delta Green agent for over a decade, currently under the Alias Agent Rory. He'd seen more than most people know exist. But it was safe to say this was the most disturbing thing he'd ever encountered in his life. At the moment the painkillers were the only thing keeping him up. The night of the 4th of July he took part in an operation with two of his fellow Delta Green agents, Agents Riley and Ryan. It was a raid on a Karotechia facility, remnants of the SS and Thule Society, hardly a notable force in the modern world. They were one of Delta Green's oldest enemies and it was a war Delta Green had long since won. But they were still a threat. Agents Ryan and Riley both lost their lives but a warehouse the occultists had been using was currently ablaze, and Rory had made off with a van containing likely millions of dollars worth of gold ingots. Unfortunately his right leg had been badly injured, Rory managed to stop the bleeding but it didn't look well. He wasn't certain of it yet, but he was going to be walking with a limp for the rest of his life, using a cane to support him. But no, none of that was the disturbing part. The true horror was when he arrived at the Delta Green safe house and found a dead body. The body belonged to a man who was 18 years old than him yet it was also his own.
Fireworks were still going off even at this hour as people were celebrating the holiday. Rory did a quick examination of the 61 year old man's body. He'd do a more detailed examination later, one that determined light traces of radiation and a liver damaged from heavy drinking. But the cause of death remained obvious, he'd be stabbed through the lower back twice with some kind of long sharp object, although he was unable to determine exactly what had caused the wound. The elder Rory still kept his head shaven but had grown more of a beard, the white hairs contrasting with his dark skin. He was wearing black combat boots, brown fatigue trousers, a black t-shirt and green canvas jacket, his clothes now coated in blood. Not all of it his own. Searching his possessions Rory found a pocket knife, a notepad containing various writings, a Polaroid photograph and a wallet containing $26. Notably the $20 bill in the wallet depicted the Abolitionist Frederick Douglass. The photograph was of a group of six people, including Rory, with "Renaissance. 10/10/36" written on the back. Only one person was in the photograph, a black girl who appeared to be about 15, was younger 35. The notepad was brief and written in various hands, each a member of a group called "Renaissance" outlining in their own writing where they could be found in 2018 and information to gain their trust.
The final object the man had was a cassette tape recorder. Agent Rory played the tape he'd found with him one more time:
"This... this isn't how it was meant to go. Jasmine, daughter, she was meant to be the one here. Would have explained it in person but *gah* I don't think I'm going to last much longer. But I think you can figure it out.
I came from 5th of December 2036. After that injury you just got, with the gold, you retired. Settled down. Had a kid. All the stuff we never thought we'd do. But it didn't last. Delta Green, it'd, it'd been infiltrated, at the top. Agents were betrayed, it wasn't MJ12, something else, something not human. It all goes to hell, spend your life stopping the end of the world, you're not ready for when it comes. The group I was with, Renaissance, trying to fight it. Got our hands on the technology to send us back, but don't know who we can trust. So came to right now, Riley, Ryan, they're both gone. And with that [&@%!] nazi gold, we have the money we need."
Rory coughed violently.
"Not sure which of A-Cell went bad. Could be [&@%!] all of them. Working for something that ain't human. But whoever it is, you need to take them out. Find Renaissance, today, journal got notes on where they all are. Every one of them died for you, died so I could be here, so we could stop this, there's nobody in the world you can trust more."
There was a pause for more seconds.
"Not sure if you can stop this. But I'll tell you this much, I sure as hell don't remember finding my own dead body. So I know we can change it. You have to."
After that the tape was nothing but silence.
After receiving a message from his future self, Dr. Travis Walker Alias: Agent Rory set about reorganizing R-Cell, a branch of the secret organisation known as Delta Green. While it may look like they were still loyal in truth, R-Cell was going rogue. Their goal, cleanse A-Cell, the leadership of Delta Green, of whatever corruption would one day lead to the downfall not only of Delta Green but of the entire human race. Due to injury, Rory was no longer fit for field assignment but set out to recruit the people who would one day make up "Renaissance" to assist him in his task. The recruitment occurred over the basis of several weeks. But at last they're all together and ready. Prepared to risk their lives to protect humanity from preternatural threats.
The first case of the new R-Cell begins Monday 13th August, 2018.
What is Delta Green?:
Hidden:
Do you mean the game or the organisation? Never mind, I'll answer both.
Delta Green is an RPG set in the Cthulhu Mythos, based on the work of H.P Lovecraft and some other authors. It could be best described as a cross between Lovecraft and The X-Files. Using a conspiratorial setting to carry Lovecraft's universe forward to the modern day. You don't need to be familiar with Lovecraft or Delta Green to play, but do expect spookiness, conspiracies and weird alien things. (Just a note: If you are familiar with Delta Green, I'm basing this off the old 1990s sourcebooks. Not the 2010s updates, despite setting it in 2018. I'm not expecting this to ever come up, but wanted to make note just in case.)
Delta Green the organisation has its roots all the way back in 1928 following a raid by the US Government on the small fishing town of Innsmouth, Massachusetts. Agents who took part in the raid would later serve in the OSS during World War 2 where a special branch was established tasked with investigating and neutralizing preternatural threats to the United States. Files from this division were given a new clearance, "Delta Green." Following the war the Delta Green division became an independent, albeit, secret branch of the United States government. The organisation was officially disbanded in 1969, personal were to be reassigned, many of which joining Majestic-12. However some personal, believing that Majestic-12 weren't fit to face the threats Delta Green face or distrustful of their motivations, chose to continue the work of Delta Green in secret outside official US Government command structure. As it is today, most Delta Green agents lead double lives, continuing working with Delta Green alongside their service to a branch of government (military, federal law enforcement, intelligence community, etc.) In 1994 following hostilities from Majestic-12, Delta Green reorganized into a clandestine cell structure for security purposes (more about that below.) A structure it has continued to use to this day. It should be noted, once you join Delta Green, it's generally understood that you're in for life. They don't do gold watches, they have 9 millimeter retirement plan.
Delta Green has faced a lot of difficulties since the dawn of the new millennium. The terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001 irrecoverably changed how the international intelligence community operates. But agents remain steadfast to the same goals those agents in Innsmouth had 90 years ago. To investigate paranormal phenomena, to protect the United States and her citizens from paranormal threats and to keep secret the things people are better off not knowing.
What are Delta Green cells, who are A-Cell and what does it mean to be a Rogue Cell?:
Hidden:
Agent Rory has given you a summary of who this "A-Cell" he's so worried about are.
A-Cell is the Administrative Cell of Delta Green. In 1994 under the directorship of Agent Alphonse Delta Green adopted a clandestine cell structure common in terrorist organisations, with A-Cell at the top and only the leaders of each cell able to contact A-Cell. The other 25 Cells operate independently of one another and send information up to A-Cell who then issue orders to the 25 Cells who are also capable of operating one their own initiative. Following Agent Alphonse's death in 2008 the cell structure remained and in the decade since has been lead by Agent Andrea. However the transition wasn't smooth and saw a number of agents defect to MJ-12 who'd offered amnesty and funding to Delta Green's skilled investigators following news of Alphonse's death. A-Cell like all (official, non-rogue) cells is made up of three members who use code names, those code names starting with the first letter of their cell's name. Although as with all things, this number can sometimes fluctuate. As of 2018 the members of A-Cell are:
Agent Andrea - Leader of A-Cell and by extension, Delta Green
Agent Anna
Agent Arthur
As the leader of R-Cell and an 11 year Delta Green veteran, Agent Rory has had plenty of dealings with them in the past. His goal is not to destroy Delta Green or even necessarily all of A-Cell, but one or more members of Delta Green's leadership have been corrupted and must be neutralized. If left unchecked, a cancer cell can kill an entire body. If the message from 2036 is accurate, the consequences of not routing out the traitor(s?) in A-Cell would be apocalyptic.
However while R-Cell made be rogue and operating outside the parameters of the organisation, Agent Rory is still attempting to maintain the veneer of being legitimate. While not carrying out A-Cell orders, he still operates independently. However he is no longer capable of field work given his recent injuries, as such you must carry out field operations in his stead. It may buy time to find the truth about A-Cell. And besides, the threats don't stop being real just because your boss can't be trusted.
Who are Majestic 12 and The Greys?:
Hidden:
Majestic-12 (also known as MJ-12 or Majestic) was established following the Roswell incident of 1947 to research extraterrestrials and their technology. They are split into 12 different divisions who follow different projects (Majestic-1, Majestic-2, etc. As such the organisation as a whole is often referred to as Majestic.) Given their focus, Majestic typically has little interest in more terrestrial, "paranormal" happenings. Since the 1980s they have been working (with the authority of the US Government) in co-operation with "The Greys."
The US Government first became away of The Greys following a saucer crash in Roswell, New Mexico. The Greys resemble the popular image of "Little Grey Men" aliens, an image likely propagated by the US Government to discredit witnesses and ease people into the existence of aliens should co-operation ever become open. From the Roswell crash the US Government recovered alien technology, corpses and one live Grey. In the 1980s, Majestic, working in co-operation with the Reagan regime established a treaty with the Greys and began an agreement in which Majestic would facilitate the Grey's research in exchange for information and technology. The true nature, origin, capabilities and motivations of The Greys remains unknown, at least to Agent Rory. But Delta Green consider them and those working with them to be a threat.
Even when they were both part of the US Government, Delta Green and Majestic-12 have always been at odds due to their conflicting goals. Majestic-12 seeks to understand and exploit extraterrestrial knowledge and technology while Delta Green seeks to investigate and neutralize preternatural threats to the United States. Today MJ-12 and Delta Green are fierce enemies. As Agent Rory puts it: "We're the conspiracy. Those fools are just the government."

CASPIE

Think of CASPIE as Fallout's SPECIAL without luck. You get 1 point in every CASPIE and then 29 points to spend in what attributes you want. All stats are capped at 10 or 1.
Agility= Coordination and the ability to move quickly.
Strength= Raw physical strength.
Perception= The ability to see, hear, taste and notice things others may miss.
Intelligence= Knowledge, wisdom and the ability to think quickly.
Endurance= Stamina and physical toughness.
1 Very Bad
2 Bad
3 Poor
4 Fair
5 Average
6 Good
7 Very Good
8 Great
9 Excellent
10 Heroic
For the majority of people all their CASPIE stats would be between 3 and 8 inclusive. You would need a good reason to have 2 or 9. Basically nobody should have 1 or 10 and I would prefer you avoid having either when creating a character. I don't want to see min-maxing for character creation purposes, have stats that make sense in relation to your character rather than putting points into stats you think are the best.
Skills
Hidden:
When making your character you pick 3 Tag Skills which your character is very proficient with. These are by no means the only skills your character has, only where they excel. You can mention other skills your character possess in your character sheet but they won't be as good at them. Every skill is derived from a CASPIE attribute. Skills follow along with descriptions of what the skills are:
Charisma:
Speech = Skill at persuading, seducing, deceiving and overall manipulating people by talking to them.
Agility:
Sneak = Skill at remaining unseen, moving unheard and stealing.
Strength:
Orienteering = Skill at engaging in combat with your bare fists and with melee weapons like knives, clubs, axes, etc. As well as practical knowledge of the outdoors, knowledge of tracking and the ability to live off the land.
Perception:
Weaponry = Skill at using and knowledge of various firearms, bows and a wide range of explosives.
Deft Hands= Skill at picking locks, electronic and otherwise as well as disarming traps, hotwiring a car, cracking safes and operating and repairing equipment, vechicles and machinery.
Intelligence:
Academia= One's knowledge of skills such as computers, geology, science, occult, history, economics, sociology, etc.
Medicine = Impacts one's skill at treating wounds, understanding of the human body, performing examinations of bodies, etc.
Endurance:
N/A
Things aren't always rolled for. In fact, the majority of the time I don't roll for skills you have knowledge of when the task is trivial, something like driving a car in casual conditions doesn't require me to test your driving skill while a car chase would. But when things do need to be rolled I will be using two D10 dice to create a percentage. So that percentage could be anywhere between 0% (Two 0s) or 99% (Two 9s.) There will be no set measurement of damage however when people are hurt it will be described. CASPIE, Skill and Stress all impact your chance of success.
Stress
Hidden:
Stress works like simplified version of SAN common in Call of Cthulhu roleplaying games (including Delta Green.) At low stress tasks are slightly more difficult but still doable. However under high stress tasks become much more difficult, this is intended to systematize fear, making it harder to act when you're afraid and more tempting to turn tail and run. Stress is gained when your character feels disturbed, uneasy or in fear of their life.
5 Ranks of Stress:
Low Stress:
1 - Calm - No deduction from roll.
2 - Anxious -5% from rolls.
3 - Disturbed -10% from rolls.
High Stress:
4 - Panicked - 20% from rolls
5 - Hysterical! - 30% from rolls

To put this plainly you need to work for Delta Green. You're part of a conspiracy now. No betraying them and selling their secrets to the New York Times, Velvet. Between the photo of your future selves together, what you wrote in 2036 to convince your 2018 self and Agent Rory's word, you agreed to leave your life behind (or at least put it on hold) join Delta Green and try to save the world. You're talking this stuff seriously.
Also because of time stuff, you've probably been together for a few days or maybe weeks when the RP starts. So you'll already know each other's names, etc. However this will be your first actual assignment together. Case 1 begins (in universe) Monday 13th August, 2018.
All four slots are reserved and I'd like to start sometime in May, hopefully. So no rush with the sheets, PM me and stuff your characters and we can get this ball rolling.

Rules & Admin
1. Forum Rules apply
2. No Godmodding. (Control other characters, determining the outcome of combat, changing the time, etc.)
3. Only post one attack per combat "turn." This being before I get back to you and post the results of your actions. I don't want to see posts like "James shot at Dennis 7 times, then his dog 3 times and then he ran up to the Alex and punched him in the face before tossing a grenade at Lisa."
4. One player character per person.
5. Try your best to use good grammar and spelling.
6. All out of character talk in hide tags after the RP starts. Hide tags that is. Double parentheses aren't acceptable.
7. Characters have to be approved by me.
8. Keep in mind that you can die. But if you do you can of course make a new character.
9. If you wish to join after the RP has started then PM about it. On the flip side if you are dropping out or going on hiatus for a while please PM me about it to let me know. However I'm planning on having a 4 Player Cap.
10. I will kick as a last resort if I really have to. Please don't make me.
11. Don't be afraid to talk me about things related to the RP. I'll try my best to answer what I'm asked and willing to answer. I won't for example tell you the true motivation of a character just because you ask out of character.
12. I am still the GM. So it is still possible for me to do things with my powers that aren't listed here under rules. But don't worry, I won't go mad with power.

Name: Olivia Patel Code Name: Rosa Age: 34 Gender: F Experience: Before joining Delta Green, Olivia worked as a state prosecutor (ADA) based in New York. She primarily prosecuted white collar crime. While her career started our prosecuting insider trading cases, she demonstrated talent enough to be shifted across to more complicated criminal fraud and corporate espionage cases. She had a 96.2 percent conviction rate. Residence: Inwood, Manhattan. And, yes, the rent was more-or-less equivalent to her salary. Appearance: Her chiseled jaw is almost masculine in appearance, extending a general sense of strength to her features. On another person it might appear odd, but among her other well-defined, squarish features it would seem to work. Her hair is maintained in a strict bun: thick, black and prone to falling in dense curls, unchecked it would sit in a deep shag extending to her shoulders. Her eyes are small, brown-almost-black, inquisitive beads: bright with intelligence, they flare when irritated or delighted. She has a thin mouth, lips tight-pressed; when she smiles it’s close mouthed, assured, almost arrogant.
Her skin is of an off-chestnut colour, a feature of her biracial, Indian-Irish heritage. Her mode of dress tends to be professional: Blouses, typically, but tending to be half-a-size too large as to play down her ugly, too-large breasts, at least in her own estimation; they’re a feature she believes throws her whole body out of proportion. While not of dimensions that might be considered petite, a regimen of daily light cardio and infrequent visits to the gym means that she looks to be in reasonable physical shape. On occasion she’ll wear a dress, the sleeves stretching down to her wrists, but short enough to offer some glimpse of her thighs, which bulge with the natural strength of a committed cyclist. Background and Personality:
Spoiler:
The bar bustled with the sound of after-work drinks. It was a popular spot for the managerial class, it’s clientele typically male, typically white, typically balding. She captured a glance or two as she strode in among them, dressed in a blouse and work pants, hair tied back in a strict, professional bun. Her steps remained confident, her own gaze fixed on her target seated at the back of the room: alone, neat scotch in hand, he did not seem keen to watch her approach.
“This is a member’s club, Ms Patel” he noted and she smiled. That was going to be the least of his problems. Without comment, she pulled a red folder out from under her arm, dropping it onto the table:
“Dates, times, call logs--all connecting you to one Damien Wolfe, the very one we indicted this morning for criminal fraud.” The man leaned in, features brimming with arrogance. One hand reached out to peel over the folder head. He scoffed as he returned he looked back up to her:
“You think a few phone calls are enough to implicate me in this?”
The smile she returned suggested she didn’t; another folder plopped down beside the first. Reaching in he peeled it over, any pretensions collapsing as he leafed through the images it contained. Him: first meeting another, younger man in the hotel lobby, then sharing a discreet kiss in the nominally empty elevator and, finally, multiples of them making vigorous love in one of the rooms.
“Tut, tut.”
“There’s no way these were legally taken.”
“I have the strangest feeling your wife isn’t going to care a tad.”
His face hardened, like stone. “Son of a [&@%!].”
She withheld a smile, extending a simple nod at the accusation. It was a few moments before she spoke, wanting the seriousness of the situation to set in. “Plead guilty to a misdemeanor and testify against your partners: names, dates, everything, and hope to god it matches what we have at the moment. We can forget about this: we’ll drop the jail time, and these pictures will never reach your wife.”
He hadn’t time to think before she’d dropped a third folder the plea agreement inside. It might have rested there less than a second before she had resumed squeezing.
“Let me add, though, this is a limited time offer. If I don’t see a signature in the next thirty seconds we’ll move ahead.” She allowed three of those seconds to pass before adding: “And if you don’t think I’ll make your future cellmates aware of your filthy little secret, too, you’ve another thing coming”
Olivia Patel’s face was blank, even, professional as he reached across to sign.

2036:
Spoiler:
Gordon is a slim African American male, standing at 5'10" with an athletic build. His hair is usually styled in a short afro, and he rarely shaves his beard. His eyes are a light amber, and he has wrinkles and slightly greying hair beyond what is typical of his age.
Under his shirt he has tattoos that cover up a majority of his upper body. Most of his tattoos are military related, but he has a few of vintage cars, radios, and koi fish.
Background: Gordon was born in Louisiana as a single child to a single mother in 1987. Being that times were tough and options were limited, Gordon dropped out of High School at the height of a promising amateur boxing career to join the military. At the age of 18 he began a 4-year tour of duty in Afghanistan as an army combat engineer, where he served with distinction.
After his time in Afghanistan and his honorable discharge, he earned a degree in Criminal Justice and accepted a position as chief of police in Yarrow Run, Washington, a small out-of-the-way town known for strange occurrences and odd happenings that rarely ever kept a police chief in their miserably tiny police department for more than a few years. During this time he got married, had a child, and lost his wife to a car crash. He raised his daughter alone, relying on friends at the precinct and babysitters to fill in for when he was out at work.
At the time of contact from Rory, Gordon was investigating the cold case that was the hit-and-run that claimed his wife's life.
Personality: Despite coming from a military and police background, Gordon is surprisingly relaxed, friendly, and humorous. He has a strong work ethic, but doesn't believe anyone can be motivated to work by being belittled. Friends often liken him to Bob Ross. That being said, he can have a more serious side, and he wields disappointment in his coworkers as a weapon.
Skills:
Weaponry: Gordon has extensive weaponry training from both his time in the military and in the police force. He is professionally trained in handling firearms, particularly pistols and rifles.
Orienteering: When in High School, Gordon was an amateur boxer, and continues to partake in the sport as a hobby to the present day. Style-wise he is a counter-puncher who waits for his opponent to make a mistake before punishing them with a solid haymaker. In addition to this, he is physically fit from a lifestyle of fitness, and he has a good knowledge of outdoorsmanship again in large thanks to his time in the army.
Deft Hands: A good deal of Gordon's time at home involved fixing things and handling tools as the so-called "man of the house", leading to a skill with macinery and handheld tools. This made him a natural fit for the role of a combat engineer, a role that saw him handling things from explosives to electronics.

Personality: Sabrina has an air of arrogance about her, though whether it is down to confidence and self-belief, or compensation for shyness and self-doubt is unclear. To an outsider, it would appear the former.
She can be intimidating to those less sure of themselves and it is never truly obvious what she is thinking.
Sabrina keeps her cards close to her chest, and will only allow people to become mentally or physically close if it bears no true meaning or sentimentality.

I'm excited about the case title "Polybius". Know why? It could either be something about a Greek historian or whatever, or it could be about the urban legend about the haunted arcade machines, which would make me SUPER HAPPY.
Typical Caucasian women, with natural dark brown hair, amber eyes, and a generally acceptable yet smaller figure. Though, one could argue that she probably falls on the cuter side of the scale, especially if shy girls in glasses are your thing. Though in every sense, she would probably contest, having a mild complexion about her face(which is fine) and her height(she's average) and especially her weight(what part of normal dont you understand). It's safe to say, she'll find any excuse to fritz about a compliment
She really isnt big on cosmetics, typically using minimal make-up and more natural color tones. Likewise, she doesnt really sport any type of jewelry, aside from a black service watch and lastly a pair of simple glasses. Not that she really needs them to see, not anymore at least, more so just as a coping mechanism. The one sole exception, and possibly her only fault in her dresscode would be a single, brass amber hairpin in the shape of riverside reeds, a long standing homage to her life-long favorite book "Amongst the Riverside, with Me"
Her general when at work or on the job is what one might expect from a federal profesional. Simple black and formal attire, typically pertaining to a black female suit, white collared shirt underneath, a short black skirt, and black pants-leggings. If for whatever reason she needs to wear a bulletproof vest or carry a firearm, her formal attire can more.than accommodate as would be expected. Though during certain field assignments, she will dress accordingly

A shy, timid, and often very quiet woman. All too content to spend her days alone, curled up beside the window, and watch the rain clouds pass as she savored her tea. She is an introvert, always has, always will
She is unaccustomed to heavily social engagements, and when pressed, often has made mistakes that could otherwise be seen as quirky or clumsy, often stuttering her words. This, in tangem with her secluded lifestyle, has lead to a poorly managed love life. Not to say, she hasnt tried...
But she really is a kind soul, and smart once you let her crack open the books.

Most of her early life had been uneventful, just like any other small girl growing up in Portland, Maine. She had a particular habit of walking around the coastline and finding small coral crevices to tuck away in and enjoy the simpler things in life. She's always been a dear and solemn child, oh how her sickly mother adored her so.
She predominately was cared for by her grandmother, and never really knew her father aside from his portriats in their home. It all seemed so normal to her
Later on, into her college days, she attended University of Pennsylvania and persued a career in federal service. Her high and exceptional grades(but poor social skills) landed her an easy recommendation into the Intelligence Agencies, where she worked for three years, during which, her more inquisitive nature and knack for accumulating data lead her to a job oppurtunity with the FBI
But it wasn't all perfect from there. During her first year as a trainee lead her to a falling out with her superior, which resulted in a sexual harrasment charge. However, in cruel irony, it marked her record and made her a target for demotions. Despite finishing her training as an agent, she was denied field work and relegated behind the scenes and bumped around to different departments till eventually landing in Records management, in a small lonely desk for 4 years, often times tasked with the scraps of other's. Her only real interaction with other agents would be when they wanted something from her, or there deliberately to berate her. But one thing could not be denied, when it came to memerizing the archive of files and solving issues others never had the time to delve for, she had no equal. And then, it happened
Senior Special Agent Mindez came down to her little tucked away corner, and just like so many others, he requested for some info pertaining to a series of cases. Same old same old, but apparently, she left quite the impression on him. Following that week she got transferred again, same old same old, or so she thought. She in fact found herself within proximity to Mindez, who in fact, filed in a request to have her on his team, there by returning her to her duty as an agent. At first as mainly an intelligence consultant before gradually doing more field work and eventually being a key component to his team. He worked them like a drill sargent sometimes, and others like an unspoken father figure who'll protect them at all costs
And so the majority of her career was spent there, or so she had always thought

You need to remove any reference to Majestic 12 or people talking about it. Of someone suggesting she join, somebody saying they're a member or them contacting her, you can't have any. Majestic 12 are a highly secretive organisation. As in, not even the president is briefed about their existence if MJ12 don't deem it necessary (this was the case with President Johnson after Kennedy died, it's almost certainly the case with the 45th President.) You don't go looking for them, they find you.
Other than that seems fine to me.

Pls give me lovecraftian horror arcades Kerr-san
I decided giving the cases names (like how X-Files episodes have names) would be more fun than just calling them like "Case 1" or something generic like "Operation: Hawking Eagle." You can get speculation going and gives you an idea of what it'll be like. So glad you like it. "TV Miniseries" is the plot structure afterall.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally? The last thing you never see

Probably the former. The haunted arcade machines sounds absolutely perfect for Yarrow Run though.
But yeah, Majestic-12 has been a pretty longstanding part of conspiracy/UFO mythology. I'm taking things from that, from urban legends/folklore, Lovecraft and weird/disturbing things or places in the real world. Which is why going for an episodic structure is nice. I can touch on a lot of things without needing to tie them all into a single, big, continuous mystery.

And it means you can get to the solving the case sooner, and then move on to another!
I'm interested, seeing as episodes don't tie together into a single mystery, how does that work with the main story arc of stopping A-Cell?
Think of it like some episodic tv shows. They'll still have arcs or loosely themed episodes, but some will always have the 'main' plot somewhere behind the background, slowly progressing at its own pace
I would say, use GoTS SAC.. but, you've never watched that(which you should) nor a very big anime watcher(which I am)
"I Seek Truth, Not For Power, But For Understanding"
Aye. Pretty much what Beta said. Like, there's three ways television series typically work (well four if you count anthologies, but sush, I'm making a point)
Strict episodic - So have a set up with characters, setting and premise but no episodes really connect to one another, can be watched in any order. So like The Simpsons & CSI.
Strict serial - Every episode follows on from the episode previous to make on long single on-going story. So like The Wire & Breaking Bad.
Hybrid - Where there are stand alone episodes with the characters/setting/premise but also the series has an ongoing story arc, some episodes don't tie into it, some tie in minorly, some tie in majorly. So like The X-Files, Supernatural or modern Doctor Who.
We're taking that final approach, so like a very short Supernatural or X-Files season.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally? The last thing you never see
Not to nip pick.. well, I am >_> but CSI isnt episodic, the background with the cast still progresses and has its own lil arcs. (I would have said Family Guy honestly)
Note tho, not all episodic shows lack some linear time. It's just not as obvious or apparent. I.e like in show were a character now has carries around a new gun from 12 or one episodes ago, but will never bring attention to it(i.e it could have been there for years or just days or just the next day. Doesnt matter)
--------
So I take it you'll mention to us how long(if relevant to us) it is between cases or timeskips.. bc lets be honest, it's totally just timeskips
"I Seek Truth, Not For Power, But For Understanding"
The agents got a call in the early hours of Sunday morning inviting them to a Night at the Opera the following day in Portland, Oregon. That gold Agent Rory had recovered was going a long way towards paying expenses. The members of R-Cell met at a small apartment in the outer parts of Portland. They sat around a kitchen table.
---
"Hope none of you were stupid enough to bring cell phones after everything I told you. Have burners I'll hand out in a minute. What I'm about to go through might sound a bit, weird, but just stick with me until I'm done." Agent Rory began.
Dr. Travis Walker started playing a video on a laptop and began to talk over it.
(In this world, Super Hexagon doesn't exist. Instead we have this game Super Polybius that came out in July 2018.)
The gameplay video showed a triangular shape in the centre of the screen, moving along a hexagon avoiding shapes that came towards it at great speed as chiptune music played. The gameplay video ended with the words "Super Polybius" and the logo for "Tycoon Ghost" those words on the bottom of a cute white cartoon ghost wearing a black top hat with a white TG badge on it.
"Super Polybius. Game came out on Android and iOS on July 10th for a mere 99 cents. PC later that month. This year's Pokemon Go, nearly two million sales, everyone loves it. Developers are Tycoon Ghost, Portland natives, small two person team. Nathan and Chloe Ross, 26 year old yuppies. He designs the games, she does the music and runs the business. They're married, went to the same private school, same college, childhood friends, started dating and married after graduation, started making games together. Real human interest story."
"But what's interesting to us is Polybius. The original Polybius by Sinneslöschen Inc. Now I'm from Portland, grew up here. My brother and I spent a lot of time at Galaxyplay Arcade as kids. In the summer of '81 there was a new game there. And it was a less advanced version of this. Word is it existed in a few arcades in the city, and some of the people who played it had headaches, nightmares, hallucinations. FBI did a raid on Galaxyplay in August, allegedly it was a mob front. But when it reopened, Polybius was gone. And with it seemingly any physical proof that it or the company that made it even exist."
"Now game's something of an urban legend. People have made all sorts of mockup cabinets, online games, that sort of thing. So when some indie devs said they found an original cabinet and based the game off that, it's easy to write it off as a marketing stunt. Just made the cabinet themselves. But like I said, I've played that game and it's a damn good imitation. So if the rumors about this game are real, well, I don't want to unleash that on 2 million people."
"Our goal is three fold. Number one, find out if the cabinet is legitimate, how it works, that sort of thing. If it can produce the effects rumors said it can, it's probably done by some extra mode. Experiments need control groups afterall. So look for options menus. Number two, if it is real, destroy it. Likewise if they're working on an update to add any sinister elements to Super Polybius, destroy that data too. Number three, find out where Mr and Mrs Ross got this cabinet and investigate further. Need to track this to the source."
"Now, I got a cover where you'll pretend to be a local news crew, Rosses work from home, you have an interview lined up. Can go through the details but first, look over the target's profiles."

Blake reclined in his chair and tapped his fingers together. "Camera guy, called it." he announced. "Not a big on-the-spot talker, y'know?"
In his head, however, he noted just how many people he had seen playing the game since. He had even considering shelling out the dollar to download it himself before, but given recent events he hadn't found the time.
Sabrina sat around the kitchen table with four strangers. Her attire consisted of a short, black leather jacket, white t-shirt, black jeans and black heeled ankle boots. Her hair was loose and she gently pushed the right side of her dark locks over her shoulder, as she read the profiles for the Rosses.
"Are we thinking brainwashing? Subliminal messaging?" The French woman asked Rory.
"How have you linked this with our end goal?"
Sitting around the table of some small apartment, outside of Portland, talking about video games had Olivia truly wondering whether she had made the right career choice. She hadn’t been sure what to wear in her first day as a field agent: having worn a more practical outfit for training, it raises questions about what was appropriate now. In the end she had settled on an outfit stolen straight from the X-files: a plain, open necked blouse, which lapped loosely across her chest, a dark coat which stretches to her knees, a pair of black trousers, and dark-skinned loafers. Examining Sabrina’s outfit had her regretting the decision already—she looked like a Spook.
It was an uncertainty she tried to ignore as she listened to the mission brief. It was about video games, which she knew nothing about. She didn’t play video games, because she was an adult. Though, even when she was younger she found the whole occupation weird and dorky. So, she committed herself to googling words she didn’t recognize as soon as the briefing was over. When Blake made his own announcement she nodded: “I can cover the interviewing, lot of practice from my previous role—interviews, depositions, cross-exams, all the same skill-set, really.” She posed a tight-lipped smile at that. Straight in for the big role, she’d make a success of this job yet.

She got so lost in the debriefing she almost forgot she wasnt alone, nearly jumping as the one guy said ['Camera guy, got it'] a timid thought crept over her, as she sat increasingly rigid in her seat as a cold sweat touched her brow 'Does that mean I might have to do the interview??' But just before or anxious little mind could work over the social worries, and then ['I can cover the interviewing, lot of practice'] she breathed a sigh of relief, and audibly so
After much tribulation herself, she said shyly "I uhh.. am a bit familiar with some of the buzzwords.. if.. if it's necessary" she tried to look up, to guage any of their opinions before quickly dashing her eyes back down upon the first pair of eyes she met "And.. And.. deal with some of the more technical side of things. I..I..Including the actual physical game itself"
She curled her fingers in frustration, as her studdering only made her ashamed more 'Why oh why couldn't i ever make a good first impression! Why?!'
