Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Yay, I get to be homeless next week. I get to throw myself at the mercy of the council. Woo. Should get confirmation that once again, I failed. Why? Because I suck. What? I says I suck at life. 25, jobless and homeless. Yay. What? i'm not enthusatic? I'm a loser? Well, yes. I suppose I am. I don't know, i've been meh for the past few days. I know I [&@%!] up the interview and I have not got the job. I keep [&@%!] up! Nothing on the room front, Motivation fading, desperately hoping that despite my [&@%!] preformance, i somehow bagged the role but that is as likely as a peruvian marching band turning into an orange. I.e. Not [&@%!] likely. What? Dovah is a miserable [&@%!] again? Why am I not surprised? I know, most of the [&@%!] I post in here is negative. Life ducking sucks. At least, if i am in a B&B, i'll have my laptop and the freedom to continue my [&@%!] diet. I'm just living off cup meals at the moment. It seems that I've decided I don't deserve proper meals. Energy drinks no longer affect me and i wouldn't be surprised if stress is at an all time high.
Still, at least fate gets to finally [&@%!] me over big time.

Ouch! You're not too shaken up, I hope? I know it's happened before and comes with the job, but still must be a shock.

No, last time I got into a scuffle.I didnt sustain any injuries and mostly just adrenaline.
I dont reckon anything is fractured tho, but obviously I also got a good scolding by the NS bc, it could have been worse. But no, I'm not shaken up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just my arm and cheek hurt

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Ya no, what basically happened was I was on one of the medical units checking on a fellow coworker and their assignment <_< when a nearby room got, loud, and quickly escalated. One of our NA's were in a corner of the room, calling for help asap, bc the patient.. while bedbound and clearly irrational, was swinging the hospital tv remote like a mace, clearly using it as a weapon
And let me say something! This isnt the first time this has happened. Hard plastic, bulky remote connected to the wall by a thick wire? Those things hurt just dropping em on your bare feet, let alone swung at you!
Anyways. So ya.. we called out a code grey for security.. but with the NA trapped in the corner, it's obviously unsafe to go in there.. but just as bad to wait on security. And well.. I've been down this rodeo before >_> except this time, I've got +2years under my belt
Tried to de-esculate the patient, but more importantky, get that damn remote from swinging around and get the NA safely out while we wait on security. Bloody man tried to swing it at me. Got me once, but thats when I tried blocking(hince where I got the bruises) and grab the cord of the remote and immediately gain control over it. Got the NA out, bc no more swinging remote, and while the patient was too preoccupied trying to tug back the remote(which bruh, wasnt going to [&@%!] happen. It wasnt a contest of strength) and when I could, I tied my end to the side-brace of the bed, he kept on at it, and three nurses came in and boom! Patient was now in 4 point restraints
And well.. obviously bc I was [&@%!] and had my adrenaline going, I undid the remote and retied it/anchored it to a different pary of the bed and told em "This is why you do THIS" which.. I may have been a tad harsh.. but I did just get hit by the damn thing and we've had these issues before. (Ya cant swing the damn remote if it's anchored to the bed!)
So ya.. that was solved before security showed up.. and everybody, including the floor manager were much too focus on if I was hurt <_<
Ahem..
I may have also had the NS tell me I did a good job.. but also called me a moron bc what if there was just one good hit at my head. So.. I guess that averages out. I will say tho.. Floor manager sure as hell gave me alot of praise >_> ya could thank me by, idk, maybe changing them damn remotes so their not so hard and heavy. Just saying

I thought I remembered a female patient scratching your arm not to long ago.BetaB17 wrote:No, last time I got into a scuffle.I didnt sustain any injuries and mostly just adrenaline.

Anyway, glad your wounds are only superficial, and hopefully they will heal soon for ya!

Spring isn't just a date on a calendar. Y'know how I can tell it's finally spring? It starts to stink like mud.
And it has for a few days, now. Early spring sucks.

Today...progress with Operation Cat. I have been trying to coax a new neighbour cat to trust me for the last month or so. It's a very shy cat and it has been gradual work, but today, he ate food from my hand. Woo! Not stroked him yet, but don't want to move too fast.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Thanks, Cass! ^-^
I did do the whole 'food trail' thing, but only when he was there, otherwise who knows what would eat it.
If it was E.T. though, no way would I be leaving any food. I'd be chaining the door and putting up motion-sensing floodlights.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
The last week or so has been a nightmare. My dog, Patches, has been vomiting after every meal. To start, we took her to the vets, they checked her and said everything looked fine. They gave us some meds for her, but she still continued throwing up, so we took her to the vets the next day. They did a bunch of blood tests, and stated that she passed all but one, which they then informed us had to do with her pancreas. They then told us to not feed her for 24 hours, and then give her chicken and rice for the next while. We waited the 24 hours, and she hadn't thrown up in that time period, so we gave her the chicken and rice; she seemed fine for a bit, but started vomiting again. Once again we took her to the vets where they gave her a shot, which is supposed to help, and if she is still throwing up when we give her breakfast today, then it's something more than previously thought. We haven't fed her breakfast yet, but the shot hasn't seemed to help much because she's been up and down, whining and coughing all night. We can't afford any major expenses e.g surgery and stuff and also almost any minor vet expenses now too after all these visits, and I am just so broken down from it all. We've had her since she was 10 months old, and she is now 5 years old (6 in May), and I'm scared that we can't take care of her anymore. She's my baby and one of the few bright spots in my life right now, and I'll be crushed if we have to give her up because of this crap. As it is, I'm not handling this too well. I just don't know what to do at this point.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Scuba happened today! I was doing lessons from 8:30 am until 7:00 pm, and have more from 12:00 to 8:30 tomorrow. But after that I'll be all ready to do my open water dives!
It's really cool, being able to breath underwater. A strange feeling, though we've only been in a pool. I think the lakes will be super especially weird and wonderful.

Hey, that sounds great, Cassandra! Those lessons are long!
You'll have to let us know if you find any treasure or Loch Ness type monsters in the lakes.
