Yeah those 3 pillars are in the 'map area' the game calls Barleydark Farm. Apparently, though, there's also a Barleydark Farm faction with an unused NPC Farmer (Mithorpa Nasyal) hidden in the game data so I'm assuming there was supposed to be an actual farm thereabouts as well.
I don't normally use shouts so this is the first weird Letter I've received, but the more I look into it the more threadbare this mini-quest seems. I used to think an NPC had to 'hear' the shout to trigger the Letter event but it looks as though the game just checks if you're in a 'named' map area and off it goes... If that's the case then you guys who use shouts all the time have probably seen loads of bizarre Letters.
My next challenge is to cause "a bit of stir in Dragon Lair 3".
I've had 'inventory shenanigans' off Skyrim before so I didn't worry too much about it.Imbalance wrote:That's odd. I've seen such letters "overwrite" one another when placed in a container, but never while in my char's pocket.
One of my characters did a bit of Dragonbone War Axe dual-wielding and the game blatantly changed the unique name of one axe to match the other and merged them together. Kind of annoying but I suppose I should count myself lucky I didn't follow my original plan and call them "Naaslaarum's Fang" and "Voslaarum's Bite" or whatever otherwise I would've had a right fit at the game.
But now you mention containers I recall dumping a load of notes and letters into a dungeon chest intending to let them get 're-spawned out of existence' but then changed my mind and retrieved them. So it is possible that brief spell in a container might have glitched them.
