I've literally nothing to watch since all the new seasons of my favorite shows aren't out till fall. I have been watching a lot of comedy movies lately though!

Finally getting around to checking out Good Game because I am a total sucker for anything the Game Grumps produce.
They're definitely not actors but the show isn't bad at all.

The Crystal Maze.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
I saw the Crystal Maze, tis quite good though i can't help but think of Maurice Moss due to me associating Richard Acyolade with that character as a result of his performance. That and he seems to naturally be like Maurice Moss. Probably start watching it regulary if it's still on. Watched Don't Tell the bride as usual and is it wrong that I really want one episode to feature a failed wedding? Because some of the ideas have no right to suceed yet they do! Watched The Great British Bake Off. Tis decent. Think that's all in terms of tv.
But in terms of youtube, I was enlightened by gaming wisdom. Duke Amiel Du H'ardcore really knows his stuff and knows who can play what. It's basically Jim [&@%!] Sterling, Son mocking all the elitists by reading their comments out as an 18th century duke in a cheesy way.
Oh and tried to watch Benefits Cheat:Under Cover. As someone that relies on teh system, i couldn't handle it as it just infuriated me due to people like that giving a majority of us a bad reputation as scrounging [&@%!] when in fact, most of us hate relying on it and want to work for a living.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
I've never really watched The I.T. Crowd much. Maurice's voice is higher pitched and more nasally too, so it dunt make me think of him in TCM, which is good.
Yeah, it's still on, Friday @8.
What it does show, though, is that with all the importance focused around the perfect dress, venue, reception, etc, at the end of the day, those things don't really matter because they are just happy to be marrying the person that they love.
Tbh, the reception is usually the redeeming factor (see pig farm wedding).
Bake Off is still good. What with the whole hoo-ha about it changing to channel 4, everyone seems to be fine with it now. The adverts are an annoying addition though.
I find Prue to be the same as Mary Berry.
I do miss Mel and Sue though. Noel and Sandi's banter seems a bit more forced than their's did. Still, they're still funny though, and they have kept all the innuendo stuff going.
I hope we'll see M and S on other things though, especially Mel. She was on the last series of Taskmaster and she was hilarious.

Yes, I feel the same! I don't want the wedding to fail because I want the people to have a great day, but there's just that point where you want the groom to see how [&@%!] of an idea he's come up with. The SheoDovah wrote:Watched Don't Tell the bride as usual and is it wrong that I really want one episode to feature a failed wedding?

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
True but it usually starts with a questionable idea(I mean, a boxing ring? WTF!?) and really, there has yet to be a major failure on the show(though i've not watched it since it's very begining on BBC). Though tonight may be the one that fails.
British Bakeoff is decent but i rarely watch it as it's on in the evening and i rarely have the TV on then. (Tis usually gaming).

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
The boxing ring wasn't too bad. The whole music, crowd, entrance thing was pretty cool.
The evening is the only time I watch tv, so those programmes are prime time.
The three shows you mentioned are the main things I watch too.
I've been watching Celebs Go Dating this last week too.
I also like 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown.
Yep, educational stuff.

Finishing up Angel. I find it weird that both Angel and Buffy's weakest season is the fourth one. My lord.
After this I am either going to finish my backlog of short anime (Trigun, Samurai Champloo, etc), or finish Bojack Horseman, or start Stranger Things.

BoJack is such a solid show. One of the best depictions of depression I've seen on TV.
That said... I need to set aside time to watch Season 4. I have such a hard time doing any sort of entertainment that isn't interactive these days.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
It's a shame that Mr. Mercedes is on the Audience network, which is available only on AT&T U-verse and DirecTV, because that probably means it isn't getting the attention it deserves. The screenplay, directing, acting, cinematography, editing, and music are all outstanding. I'm not generally a huge fan of Stephen King, although all of the books that I've read by him were excellent. I'm not sure if I'd want to read Mr. Mercedes, because it's pretty disturbing. Kelly Lynch needs to win a Supporting Actress award for her acting in this, and Harry Treadaway, Brendan Gleeson, and many other cast members also need awards-- Harry Treadaway in particular is downright scary as the psychotic killer. The first two episodes are available for free online. However, in another few weeks when the first season has ended it might be worth signing up for a free 7-day trial of DirecTV Now just so you can binge-watch the entire season, then cancel the free trial.

If Juno isn't the cutest darn film I've ever seen, I don't know what is.
You haven't seen season 4 yet? You must. It's so good. My sister binged it through twice in the first four days it was out.Unionhack wrote:BoJack is such a solid show. One of the best depictions of depression I've seen on TV.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
Just got back from watching It. And hey, you know how in cartoons the people shake when they're scared? Apparently that happens IRL as well. And crying from being scared, yeah, that too.
If it weren't so utterly terrifying, I'd say that it's a fantastic movie.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
I've been wanting to see It, but haven't made time yet-- maybe this week? I never read the book, and only just saw the old TV version for the first time a month or two ago when it was being shown on cable prior to the new movie's release. Tim Curry was great as Pennywise, but I was so-so with the rest of the TV version. The new movie looks pretty wicked!

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
I wish adaptations of It kept in the cool Terry Pratchett level of cosmic funkiness that was in the book. Glad they avoid the completely unnecessary sewer orgy scene like the plague though.
The new movie looks stunning, but I'm such a damn weenie when it comes to horror stuff like that. I'll probably go see it just because my boy Finn is in it.

I heard about that after from a friend. I cannot fathom what Stephen King was thinking when he wrote the orgy in. Yeah, passing into adulthood early, but many things could be done to portray that better.
I mean, if they killed one of their friends for some reason, that could have done the trick too.

Well, even Stephen King admits that's a lil too messed up, even if it's written off as 'the power of friendship!'. No, he doesn't deny it and jokingly admits many writers arent all right in head, him included
And speaking of kids killing friends.. Ya no.. I've seen and read Lord of the Flies, I think that's all we need. No more

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
No, when we're talking about a strict policy of 'kids murdering other kids' vs no murder, I prefer the 2nd option all the way. Just saying.
Plus I mean, Lord of Flies is really messed up at times.. Not Stephen King levels of messed up.. But still.
But we're really getting off topic with this
Btw, I don't know why I do this to myself.. But I've been watching clips of Hell's Kitchen again. Just when you think you got away.. It pulls you right back in

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
Today I'm gonna be watching Harlock: Space Pirate. It's a beautiful 3D anime movie by Toei that my dad has been trying to get me to watch for a while now (and to be fair I LOVE space, pirates, and pirates in space), so I'm real excited that I actually have the motivation to partake in any entertainment that isn't a video game. That hasn't happened much lately.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
He is in quite a lot of stuff, admittly, it seems that he was most active during the 90s/80s but that man is very underrated. He literally can make comedy without even having to speak. Heck, he did it with Mr Bean. Maybe, it hasn't aged well but the british slapstick comedy of Mr Bean is easily his most notable work. If you haven't already seen it, BlackAdder. Not the first series as that is said to be crap but the others, they are worth watching. I wouldn't recommend Bean:The Movie if you are expecting it to be as good as Mr Bean as it is a bit naff. I mean, Bean talks too much and it kinda just doesn't seem to translate well into the American setting but if you go into it without any expectations, tis a decent flick. Mr Bean's Holiday is worth watching as that is just Bean doing Bean stuff. Shame that Rowan Atkinson has retired the character but admittly, I do agree with his reasons for the live action version. It would be a bit sad to see a Middle aged Mr Bean doing his antics.Aarah wrote:I watched the film Johnny English and dang can I not stop singing "Does your mother know that you're out?"

Oh and there is a ton of his earlier stuff on Youtube. Worth watching it. I personally love the Elemental Dating Guide because of his physical silent mannerisms along with A Day in the Life of the Invisible Man.
I've seen Reborn and it's more or less Jonny English but kinda not as good though. That and i think it may have been harmed by being a bit cliched. Still worth watching though.
I've been watching(at the risk of making myself sound a bit boring), Paddington Station 24/7. Tis one of those shows that shows the goings on at X. It's not a documenarty or reality but just erm... just shows what goes on behind the scenes, how staff react etc... Admittly, I do like/love trains and seeing the going ons of Padding Station is interesting. It's one of the few reasons why I even give Channel 5(Aka The benefits channel or Big Brother channel or trash) a watch. Also, [&@%!] Channel 5. Sorry, I really hate their exploitatin of people who rely on the dole and they have picked out the sterotypes to give us all a bad name. *suppresses rant*
Red Dwarf is back next week!
Watched Don't Tell the Bride last week as usual. Come on, show us a failiure! What? I kinda want to see at least one fail because the Groom is a moron.
Watched Top Gear on Dave(yes, we have a channel named Dave. It is famous/infamous for showing Top Gear, Mock the Week(even Mock the Week mocks it) a lot. I mean, when i say a lot, i mean a lot. Today, there's 3-4 episodes on.
Pretty much it. Oh and I watched(Probably didn't mention it due to life) The Kingsman's service. Excellent film though with the sequel out, the Meerkats are parodying the Manners Maketh Man scene. Stupid Meerkats! You advertise car insurance. Stop doing a superb job of parodying stuff. It's an advert! For crying out loud! This really makes me want to........ tut.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
I love me some Mr. Bean-- I bought the DVD collection of the entire TV series. The movies were okay-- I think I liked the second one a little more than the first-- but in my opinion they suffered not so much from being transplanted to America (first movie) and Europe (second movie), but more from too much recycling of bits from the TV series and trying to tell longer stories with "serious" overtones (Mr. Bean brings a family together, Mr. Bean reunites a lost child with his parents). I doubt an audience could sit through 90 minutes of individual funny skits strung together without any kind of story.
