^Probably because it's D batteries. They're a bit 90s nowadays. You want AA or AAA? No probs. C and D? The hunt is on.

I got a Twitter account today, because I really miss out on too much BTS stuff without it. Take this, for example. I only found out about it today. Tsk tsk tsk.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Not much has occured. Got to get a place by 1st December and that is taking it's toll on me. Applied for 4 jobs today and am hoping that I will get at least one interview. Tis fast food but I am hoping that my experience will get me the interview. The rest is retail and a receptionist job. I would be surprised if i got interviews for half of the jobs i've applied for. Receptionist because i don't have much experience. One is an sales advisor role and i'll just be surprised if i get an interview. *sigh* I really hope i'm right about my belief of being employed this month. Just can't take it anymore. I really can't.

Learning maths has you learn - more than anything - how little maths you actually know. We're only scraping the surface of a lot of topics really.BetaB17 wrote:By the end of this, Velv is basically gonna harness a level of math nobody has seen before

Oh also I should have mentioned that we are being tested on all this next Friday - our last class is on Thursday. If you are wondering what happened to me today over the next week, just presume it relates to math or statistics.
I got glasses too, though, and I look less horrible than I thought I might have.

Today I was killed by the fact that my garbage old PC can't run Final Fantasy XIII anymore when all I wanted in life was to play that game again. RIP me.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
This week has started off strong for me in the job hunt. Really needed this mood booster and it occured. I heard back from one of the jobs i applied for on Friday(Annoyingly, i forgot to delete part of my template when doing it for the second stage thus could [&@%!] me over big time) and it was basically redirecting me to their site. But seeing that and it saying congrats, you made it onto the next stage of the application process was just what i needed. I'm kinda worrying a lot nowadays as i've reached my limit with unemployment but today has been a strong day and hopefully, an indicator that my belief about being in a job by the end of the month is correct. 3 jobs applied for!
One, i did a workplacement with and know i can do the job. Heck, they said if they had any(at the time), they would have taken me on. So hopefully, the 2 days workplacement i did there will get me through the door for an interview. I'm positive that I will have interviews next week. Hopefully, hear back from a few tomorrow and then, hopefully, a job and moving out will go from "[&@%!]! [&@%!]! [&@%!]! HOW THE!? [&@%!]! [&@%!]! BOLLUCKS!" to just "[&@%!]!"
Gonna to pop into KFC tomorrow to discuss the instore application with them as i've applied for before, didn't get it, my fault tbh, didn't do a cover letter but gonna to attempt to discuss it to increase my chances of interview. Hopefully, The Burger King one will result in an interview. I mean, i'm experienced, got a ton of transferrable skills and well, being rejected by fast food would really kill my mood. I mean, rejected without an interview. No offense intended. I mean, it's just fast food as a reput... i'm gonna to shut up now.
So yeah, fingers crossed!

Today is not my day. Woke up sick and all congested. Had a hell of a time finding my eyes, since they decided to hide on me
Oh, and my car stalled in the middle of an intersection. Yep, just out of nowhere it stopped and wouldn't budge. At first I though, am I out of gas somehow? Couldn't be? And your right, I wasn't. But I managed to start it up again and stopped by the nearest gas station just in case, but I was only down a quarter of a tank, so ya, definitely far from empty
The hell is wrong with my car lately?

Yep. In the ER, just this time not as an employee. Their keeping me overnight, especially after they did an arterial blood-gas test.

Meh, I'm oxygen and on bronchodilators. It's my asthma tho, but hey, at least I'm still breathing ^_^ (Sort of. Gosh, it's so tiring to remind yourself to breath EVERY SINGLE TIME)
I should be out and at home by tomorrow tho, unless something comes up. But don't worry ^_^ Breathing problems? Naaaaaaah, I'm use to them. Give me an UTI or kidney stone(s), then I'll be crying bloody Mary for sure

No, it didn't. So your all good, Aarah. To be clear, I was poking fun at ya over my own wellbeing. Guess it sort bite me in the arse now that I'm in the ER ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. At least I can still have a bit of humor about it all(especially when now I'm on the receiving end of my co-workers
)
To be frank, had I left home earlier before it got too bad, or, idk, not went to work, I would be steaming it off in the shower ^_^ with that nice.. Burning sensation called peppermint.. Till of course.. It burns more than just my sinuses. Alas.. I'm at the hospital.. With an abundant lack of steam >_> but instead sweet, sweet O2

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
My niece sure is growing up fast, went to visit her yesterday and she's about 6 months now. Very cute child.
Had to cancel plans to go to Dublin with friends because the Dole office are making me go to some pointless information meeting. They've never been a help in finding work. And I'm upset because one of my best friends was going to introduce us all to his boyfriend, now I'll miss out on that. What I haven't got a letter about is the medical thing I've been waiting on since May. Every day I check the post, every day there isn't anything, every day I wonder if it's ever going to come. The whole thing has been very not good. I'm really not sure how much longer I should wait before either going to the doctor in Dublin or place in my hometown and making inquiries, I don't even know what I should say or where I should go. It feels like the cruel system you'd make if to purposely make people's lives worse.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
That's awful, Kerr.
Unfortunately, it is one of those things where if you try to get out of it, they are likely to use it as evidence of not complying with their instructions. It may be worth chasing them up about the medical thing. The system is demonised and can be utter cruel for some folks. It really [&@%!] me off whenever Channel 5 decides to focus on benefits or life on benefits etc... an gets the worst sterotype they can to demonise everyone who dares to rely on the safety net that is the welfare system. i really [&@%!] love barely getti... *refrain from going on a rant* Sorry, tis easy for me to rant about that. I do find that volunteering is a good way to keep them off your back though Universal Credit is said to be a pain in the ass about it due to it requiring 35 hours a week for job hunting.
What happened to me recently? I applied for 14 jobs in the past week. That is probably more then the total of jobs i applied for last year(which, to be fair, i was just targetting admin. This year, anything really) and only heard back from a few. One rejection but not surprised. It was a long shot and the judgement situational test was always going to cause me issues. Hoping to hear back from a few today and tomorrow. I dressed up smartly on Tuesday after doing brave battle with my beard. I dislike shaving it because my facial hair is just too [&@%!] thick! I mean, this isn't a disposable razor i'm using. It's a cheap shaver that has a small shearer(?)/clipper that is designed to tackle beards and that was struggling. 45 minutes to turn the beard into a goatee and that was because I pretty much went "Oh [&@%!] this." Turns out the goatee was a good decision as it makes me look like i'm 24 and makes me have a smart apperance. Handed in CV and Cover letter. Really wished I did a better job of introducing myself. Stupid poxy nerves!/Dovah, you smegging moron!
Other then that, not much. Though this bout of job applications has done wonders for my mood. If every single of them is rejected without interview, my pillow may be yelled into. 14 rejections is something i really do not want to see.

Also yay Beta is alive!
Today I took an exam in a class that I haven't been to in 2 weeks. I studied like 30 minutes before exam time.
I think I did really well, but it's immediately evident that after 4+ years of higher academia I am running dangerously low on steam.

Yeah, I'm still upset over it. Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Had our maths and stats exam yesterday. It turned out to be much tougher than previous years - and the minimum passing grade is a B-, and there was an extra question on each section so you didn't really have any time to second guess yourself. I think I did OK, but I'm pretty sure I was the only one who didn't skip the estimator proofs question, which was 25 percent of the stats exam, so we may or may not see a lot of curving.
On the bright side though, we don't have to do any more pure maths courses. Because jesus those were hellish.
