Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I'm replaying Dark Souls, got Dark Souls 2 recently and decided I'd play through the whole series. Doing it this time as a Neutral Evil Sorcerer, so I have a different build and an excuse to fight the optional bosses and chill with the other serpent. Still saving Solaire though. But yeah, Dark Souls is great and this time the Archers in Anor Londo didn't take me several hours, so that's an improvement. Also I went in the back way of Blighttown because I didn't want to do it again. But the boss run for Gwyndolin in Twilight Anor Londo is unforgivable.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
Gambling. All day every day. I'm losing all my caps. New Vegas, why do you do this to me?
I've also played some more Borderlands. And my sister wanted to try out a different character, as well, so we went back and started again. I quite like the Mechromancer. Though I stopped using shotguns the moment I found a pistol with a bowie knife attached. I've given up on having any sort of set playstyle; now I just use whatever guns I find that seem cool. I'm quite fond of the elemental damage, though.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I've already wasted around half of my Borderlands savings on the slot machines, don't you worry. I also somehow managed to tip Moxxi's $100 by accident. I'm just wasting money left right and center. But it's still not as bad as New Vegas. I lost 1000 caps today. And at one point I was doing so well. "Just 50 more chips!" I said, "Then I'll have won 500 caps!". "Go for it!" said my Roulette Advisor. Then I lost it all. Everything. Curse you, Ultra-Luxe Casino!

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
Luck is so OP in New Vegas in my opinion. Don't even need it maxed out, 7 from the start is enough to tip the scales to easy wealth. 10? Now your just cheating
Anyways, in Borderlands, ya, the elements really do add this extra layer of fun, especially when you consider how legendary or certain weapons might differ with just the right traits. I absolutely loved my Corrosive Lady Fist. With it's super high crit damage, it just shreds through Hyperion Bots like it's nothing. Seriously fun just to see them rip apart with no effort. Also, that name tho

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I'll go revive that later today after I grab some screenshots of my Mechromancer. She must be shown to the world. <3
EDIT: Thread has been revived. Could use a title change.
In the meantime, I beat Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain two nights ago. While I totally get why long-term fans were upset with the ending (I thought it was pretty solid honestly), and that the game is definitely unfinished (not like a subjective, fanboy gripe sort of unfinished: there is literally content they did not add at the end that is essential to tying up a vital plot point), I really, really enjoyed it.
Seriously, it's one of the best games I've played in ages. I love how many different ways you can approach situations the game presents you with. You have so many options. I don't think I've ever played any game that allows more personal freedom in tackling problems than MGSV:TPP does. That includes Elder Scrolls and other sorts of open world games, where your options are different ways of killing enemies.
I could go on for hours about how awesome that concept is, and I only hope that it can be expanded upon by people inspired by playing it. More games need to have that freedom of choice when it comes to raw gameplay.
After that, I'm still hopping back-and-forth while not dedicating appropriate time to studying (and here I thought senioritis only hit during High School >.>), between a bunch of games at the moment. I'm currently running through Borderlands 2 with my girlfriend (I'm a Commando, she's a Mechromancer), doing one more campaign of XCOM 2 before the expansion releases (I preordered!), and playing both ends of Grand Theft Auto V (online and story). Expect some video footage from Baloth and I in the coming weeks on the GTA front, actually, but we still need to figure out the fine details of a simulcast or whatever it's called.

Finished Dark Souls today with the Dark Lord ending, this also means I've finally defeated all the bosses in that game. Turns out Manus is a lot easier when you know Crystal Soul Spear. I completely derailed my Elder Scrolls-athon for a Souls-athon! Up next is Dark Souls 2 which hopefully has DLC that is more natural to access than Dark Souls 1, I'll probably have to look up how to start it. Not sure if I'll play Demon's Souls or Dark Souls 3 after this, I mean finishing on Dark Souls 3 probably makes the most sense.
Oh, I didn't know we were getting a expansion, awesome. I'm not going to play it now but I'll probably get it next year, replay it with the expansion then.doing one more campaign of XCOM 2 before the expansion releases

Yeah...I'm still playing Fallout 4. Funnest thing ever: Chloe got wasted at the Diamond City bars and went into the sewers with MacCready to kill Ferals. The best part? She was wearing a nice dress.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
Gotten bored of Skyrim due to too much Skyrim thus taking a break from Skyrim. Playing Spec-Ops:the Line and gonna to Max Payne 3 it as well. I mean, just play Max Payne 3, not shave my head, become an overweight ex-cop with anger issues and a talent for slow motion firefights. That and life may have affected Skyrim for me. That and [&@%!] Hearthfire breaks immersion! FFS. Why is there no option to hire builders to build the darn house? Why must I have to do some headcannon to flipping freaking justify it. I was enjoying my RPing in Skyrim. However, this may be the last time I play it on PS3. I may be in a position to get the original(Admittly, probably take a lot longer then it should due to Steam burying it) version on PC, get a ton of mods, disable certain things until I am ready. Bit off topic, I kinda want to stream in the future. It would start off with easy(ish) games like XCOM. By easy, i mean games that look like it can give a ton of material because, well, XCOM, Baby.
Anyway, Spec-Ops:The Line. Tis a very underrated third person shooter that got screwed over by it's publisher. At first, it seems like a run of the mill third person cover based shooter(At least, it seems to be cover heavy. You could say [&@%!] cover but you'll die a lot) but it deconstructs the general idea of a miltary shooter. Though a certain part of it kinda undoes it's theme due to it forcing the player to do it if they wish to finish the game.
Max Payne 3. Tis easily one of Rockstar's best published games. Better then L.A Noire, heck, i'll put it above GTAV. GTAV is superb but really falls short of it's potential and the lack of support for the bulk of it, i.e. single player ruins it for me. I mean, I love GTAV but it kinda is a let down. Not that many heists, got rid of bowling(That wasn't the issue, Rockstar. The issue was the stupid amount of "Niko, it's Roman, your cousin. Let's go bowling!" phonecalls.") and could have done with a lot more side bits. Maybe, i'm just nitpicking though. L.A Noire bored me.
Shame as I did enjoy the story but man, it was a chore to play. Max Payne 3, fun, narrative heavy shooter that is challenging and the airport level is easily the best part for me.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
Last night I played Oxenfree.
It's a supernatural mystery game that revolves around your relationship with four other npc characters.
As you try to solve the mystery, you get to interact with the other characters via conversations, in which you have to choose one of (usually) three responses.
How you respond and the questions you choose to ask, will alter the way the characters feel about you and how the game develops. This means that you can have several different game ending scenarios, as a result.
It's a short game, only taking about four hours, but it's very engrossing, the characters are really believable and it's got a lot of emotion and humour.
Due to all the different dialogue choices you can make, the game has a lot of replayablity to it, if you like that sort of thing.
In case anyone else plays it and is interested in knowing, here's the ending I got:
Oh, and one thing that annoyed me was in the following tab. If anyone wants a not-really-a-spoiler advice, read on.

Path of Exile: I haven't played it for around a year, so I was surprised at how much work GGG put into the game. Apparently it goes to act 10 now, and it was 4 before. The game is still very polished, and it is where I'd point those disappointed in Diablo 3 to go. Or Torchlight 2
Steamworld Dig 2: Is good.
Metroid: Samus Returns: This game has been damn good, it is making me want to check out Zero Mission, along with the original first two to get more of a feel for this game at it's best in 2D.

Had a free trial of Portal Knights.
I liked it. It's like Minecraft but better, imo, because it has more purpose to it.
I've also got Neverwinter: Tomb of Annihilation, and Hitman yet to try out.

^I went on it tonight but it seems to need an xbox gold subscription to play, which I don't have.
Played Episode 1 of Minecraft Story Mode. There wasn't that much to do yourself, and it's another of those 'choose your dialogue' games, but I really enjoyed the story and it was fun. Reuben the pig is so cute.
Unfortunately you have to pay the monies for more episodes.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
Playing AC:Rogue and nearing the end already.
If Ubisoft(Oh, Ubisoft), put the same amount of effort into this as they did with Black Flag, it could have been the best game to end the American based ACs in. Instead, it's just bare bones and just Black Flag's expansion pack. Shame as the story had a good concept where you play as Assassain turned Templar for a good reason and get to play through that reason. Ship Combat is a bit improved but there wasn't really anything i found wrong with BF's combat. The risk of being boarded is a welcome addition and whilst the naval fleet game is no longer tied to online, tis more or less meh. All you do is select a ship, send it, wait etc...

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I've been having a lot of fun with Elite: Dangerous! We all begin in a little cruddy ship called a Sidewinder, but while Baloth went more towards the military/pirate hunting route, I decided to run the trade routes and do a little bit of exploring. To that end, I upgraded to a nice little ship called a Cobra Mk. III (RMS-X1, the "Risky Mistress"), then to a bulky cargo freighter called a Type-6 (F-ZERO, the "Fortune Zero"), and finally to my current ship and my baby, a multipurpose medium-class ship called an Asp Explorer (RMS-X2, the "Risky Mistress II"). Here's some shots I got.
Jumping to Hyperspace
Fortune Zero, docking
Turns out broken windows are bad for your health in space
RMS-X2
Loops by a Gas Giant
Docking on the Dark Side of a Station
Lateral Thrusters
Brown Dwarf Star
Silhouette of the Mistress
Stopping to Check the View
Fueling Up
Explosive Corona
RMS-X1 Over a White Sun
Yimanbin
Binary Sunset
Over the Rings
Captain Ulysses Sirius Hackett
Jumping to Hyperspace

Nice pics, Union! I really like the white sun one.
Baloth managed to pull your arm to play E:D, I see!
That's a fine looking ship you have.

Yeah, I watched a few gameplay videos and couldn't help it. The game is far from perfect, but I really do enjoy it.
And yes, the Mistress II has taken good care of me. A calm, forgiving mistress, if you would.
Honestly her maiden voyage was really bumpy and almost ended in disaster, but since then she has performed above and beyond expectations.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I haven't played anything in a while, but it so happened that a free visual-novel style game was recommended to me today. Now at first glance you might not think it was my style, but I was assured it would be worth my while.
It's a cute little game called Doki Doki Literature Club. You should play it! Unless you are easily disturbed! You will see a similar warning on the game, don't take it lightly!

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
@Dirty Spaceman Thanks for the recommendation! I haven't played a visual novel, but I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm on the first weekend(I don't know how far that is), and the game just managed to make me weep for a certain character. I didn't think there would be crying in this game. That's a good thing, though.
Thanks, again.
Thanks, again.
