Yeah, it's a YouTube video, but it's 2 hours long and is a very good, intricately put-together video essay expressing the author's views on how the BBC Sherlock is a mess.

I apologize if any of you guys are Sherlock fans, but... damn, this really lays out a lot of the issues I had with the show.

Over the last two weeks my girlfriend sat me down and had us watch literally every single episode of Phineas and Ferb.
It's a great little show, but... There are so. many. episodes.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
I'm watching Darkman.
It's a cheesy 90s superhero film and stars Liam Neeson. I'm sorry but i can't buy that Liam Neeson is a science doctor because well, his badass reputation. Granted, that is unfair for the film but it's a cheesy 90s flick. Seems to be wanting to follow the steps of Batman 89 but it's cheesy and is a revenge on criminal scum plot. Still, tis pretty good. Also, bad special effects. Now, if this came out in the last few years, it would be Liam Neeson does what Liam Neeson does best.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
I'm watching Don't Tell the Bride. It's where the groom has three weeks to organise the entire wedding; venue, dress, etc, with the bride knowing nothing til the day.
This one - the guy, just what, mate, what are you thinking? His fiancé and he have a little thing where he buys pig themed things for her (due to a nickname), ok, fine, but he's taken this little thing and decided to have the wedding venue at a pig farm and the bridemaid's 'dresses' are pig onesies.
>_<
She even told him beforehand that she didn't want him making a joke out of the wedding, she wanted it serious, and then he plans a pig themed wedding. Because where does someone want to wear a fancy ivory wedding dress? At a pig farm with muck everywhere that stinks. apparently.
Oh, and he thinks breaking a record by having the most pigs at a wedding (or event or something) is also a good idea. So over fifty pigs.
What a plonk.
(Sorry, this turned into a bit of a rant.)

Same here. Of all the bloody things this show has featured, i've question a lot of it but pigs? [&@%!] Pig themed wedding? Just noooo. Also, glad to see that Channel 4 haven't altered it beyond ad breaks after BBC 3 shut down.

Since I finished FireFly (As stated above), I decided to watch a series I saw some of by Whedon, but didn't get a chance to catch all of it.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
I would love to say that I am SOO happy that Hulu has all of it! And yeah, I'm at S3, and love how it's gone so far.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
Things of note I watched whilst away:
Warm Bodies - Can words express how much I loved this film? Oh yeah, they can. I didn't. In fact, I despised it from start to finish. I knew I'd hate it from the second I heard what it was called. "It's going to be great, bad movies are so much fun!" Lies.
Lights Out - a short film on YouTube. It terrified me. "No, let us show it to you, it's not even that scary!" Lies! It's terrifying. I was so scared. I swear, I've never squeezed anyone tighter than I did while watching this. So. Scary. I hate it. I hate it so much.
The Shining - A really terrific movie, I thought. I'm glad I watched it. Scary and very stressful during viewing, but only slightly unsettling afterwards. It also gave birth to an entire week's worth of Tony jokes. Good times.
Howl's Moving Castle - I don't even know what to say. I love this movie so much. It's so wonderful. I mean, I knew Studio Ghibli was good, but now I realize that it's really good.
Nausicaä - Hip hip hooray for lovely female leads! I thought that this was super good, too.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
Lately we've been watching NCIS. I used to watch it years ago, but fell behind for Reasons. Since gf wanted to watch the newest season with me, I figured I might as well rewatch and catch up.
Prior to this, both she and bf have been working on getting me caught up on Marvel and DC shows.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
Watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo last night(Swedish 2009 version). Tis a fantastic crime thriller and is fairly faithful to the book but does take a few liberties. Noomi's Lisbeth, i feel is a lot closer to the book but I will admit, I am being unfair because I've seen the Mara version of Lisbet and well, the entire appearance gives me the vibe that she is trying too hard to stand out. Noomi's version comes off as natural and as a bit of a socially awkward woman. It is a slow burn film and if you are not fond of dialogue heavy flicks, avoid it. I do admit, there are a few elements that may have been changed but i can't recall it. A few scenes are not for the faint of heart and it really captures the tone of the book. I have heard the US adaption(which is surprisingly not a remake and just happened to be in production at the same time as the Swedish trilogy) is closer to the plot but suffers from a few issues. I'll probably check out the US version in the future but Daniel Craig as a journalist? I'm sorry, I can't buy that. Admittly, it is unfair because I associate him with Bond but I hope to be proven wrong.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
I also watched Defenders recently. I liked it, I hadn't seen Iron Fist which was somewhat to my detriment when that stuff became important. But I have seen Daredevil so I know who The Hand are. It still worked and I got to enjoy everyone also not caring about Iron Fist. I think 8 episodes worked a hell of a lot better than 13. Daredevil to an extent but Luke Cage especially felt like it needed a lot of padding to stretch it out to 13 episodes. Which made the whole show suffer. Stranger Things was also 8 episodes and it handled that perfectly well.
I'm quite looking forward to The Punisher which is out later this year, glad Karen is going to be in it because those two together was some of the best material in Daredevil Season 2. And that OTP might become canon.
Massive spoilers for Defenders.

^It turned out good in the end. It was one of those "why are you getting a hundred foot high platform for a woman who's scared of heights, you fool!" but then everything came together and it was all really good.
The farm one never redeemed itself, and still ended up crap.

Re: What are you watching at the moment?
I finished the new season of Twin Peaks. In many ways it's different than the first two seasons but there's similarities and clear continuity, god help you if you watched the first two seasons decades ago and are trying to get on board without a rewatch. I liked it, glad it got made so that the ending of Season 2 isn't just the ending anymore, it feels more complete this way. Not fully conclusive but that was never going to happen anyway. Also Gordon Cole is still the best character.
I also watched Land and Freedom by Ken Loach who made the excellent The Wind that Shakes the Barley which is about the Irish War of Independence. Land and Freedom is about the Spanish Civil War and I liked it. Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell is a very clear influence on the film, the main characters are even part of the same militia Orwell fought in. A interesting direction it takes is not having subtitles while still having characters speak in Spanish and Catalan, the main character is a Scouser who goes from Liverpool to fight in the war so I guess it's meant to put you in his shoes. But yeah, there will be scenes with characters passionately talking to one another while the protagonist (and non-Spanish speakers, i.e me) sit by the sidelines and wait for someone to translate or try to pick things up from context and our limited understanding of the language, like you do in real life.
Probably going to start Re:Zero soon.
