Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I made smores at work, what the hell are yall doing? :3
I'm also (for once) not on the Psychiatric & Behavior unit.. Which has been, just.. Just horrible for the last month and a half. Instead, I'm on the Telemetry floor today. Maybe not so much my go-to like ER or ICU, but it's certainly more appreciated than the hell I've had to deal with as of late
Edit: 30min after work? Already got the brandy out. "I'm celebrating okay!" Celebrating what "Idk, a good day?" Plus, I like brandy... Stop judging me

Not that I was aware of, but oddly enough there is the remains of a wasp nest above that door...

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
@Beta: It was the remains of an old wasp nest long since gone. I just found it funny that you mentioned wasps after seeing the remains of the nest there.
@Aarah: I caught the bottom edge of the door on one side and dragged it out of its track, bending the hardware pretty good and wedging the edge of the door hard against the outside wall. Fortunately, I was able to fix most of the damage. It took me a clamp, a crowbar, an iron bar, two car jacks, a small sledgehammer, a very large wrench, a couple of other miscellaneous tools, and about three hours to do it, but the door is fine again and bears only minor evidence of the mishap.
Lesson learned: always watch the overhead doors when going through!

*talking around the campfire*
Grandma: "Hey, guys, what's a menomie?"
Everyone: "A what?"
Grandma: "You know, a memonie, that I always see on Facebook."
Dad: "You mean a meme?"
Grandma: "Oh yeah, a meme. What's that?"
Sister: *turns to me like so*
Sister: *gives 15-minute lecture on memes to all present*
I really do love my family.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Gotta go to work early today >__<. Ugh... Like, can I not? Like seriously, please?
Edit: Had a bit of an impromptu brunch after a bit of training/meeting at the hospital and right before work officially started. Ended up going downtown with one of my co-workers (from my department) to have, as she described it "A cinnamon roll but also with chocolate". I.e, a twisted sweet bread with cinnamon goodness and chocolate as the swirls. That and some coffee
But ya, that was nice
Anyways, here I am now, in Acute Dialysis. Doing what you may ask? Jack nothing. O' sweet boredom, how you have taken me so...

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
At lunch, I was opening a packet of crisps and the bag suddenly ripped and the crisps burst forth into the air like a potato snack volcano, showering the floor with all but two crisps short of the entire packet.
My colleague thought this was hilarious, as did I, though cleaning up the floor afterwards...not so much.
What happened to the floor crisps? Said colleague ate them.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Oh, right, something noteworthy did occur. The mock interviews last tuesday. Went well and reinforces my belief that once I have the interview, I can get the darn job. The only issue is, I can't get [&@%!] interviews. :-/
Oh and today, i discovered that ASDA's meatballs went up by 7p. 7p! FFS! No, this is not an overeaction. Its now 47p for the cheapest stuff. That is now 90p for a Dovah portion of canned meatballs. First they raised the price of Freddos to 30p, now this! The country is dooomed! Doooomed! DOOOOOMMMED!
*whispers* Doomed.
Thursday is that cooking trip i mentioned earlier and shall be fun. It's with a celebrity chef that once appeared on I'm A celeb, something like that. I don't know, I pay no attention to stuff like that. There will be a chance fo win high street vouchers due to a judging thing and I may do the Mcdovah/[&@%!](See the food thread for more details as it's in there somewhere).
Yeah, tis all. Oh and still struggling to find a flipping job to apply for. FFS. Stupid life, stop giving me lemons! I am gonna to get real mad and ragedrinktea. Yeaah, I will do that.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Third day in a row down in ER? My all time favorite unit? Oh, and two of NA's from my department are also there to help out and chill? Good times are...
*First hour into shift*
Announcement "Code Grey on 7 central. Code Grey on 7 central"
*5 minutes later*
Unit Clerk "Umm, Beta, Nursing Office called. Could you go to room 7602?
....Why me!?! Went from starting my day with best of expectations.. To the worst. From heaven, to literally hell. And if you aren't aware >_> that Code was for security, bc a patient either turned combative or the staff seriously needed the extra help/protection. I.e, never a good sign. Worst yet, 7C is our Psychiatric and Behavior floor >_> i.e, the place I had to go to. And odds were, the patient in question was either out of control, in isolation, or.. Now my problem to deal with. Take a guess which one?
Not only did I have to spend the rest of my day in the unit I dislike the most, but I also had to get one of the worst assignments. Ya, no, I'm totally fine risking myself getting punched again this year. I mean nothing happened.. But after 7 hours? Ya, things got pretty close a few times.
Why couldn't I have just stayed in ER. I would of been fine running Fast Track or Triage at least. But nope.. Not my luck. Even the unit clerk knew how badly I was going to like the bad news. [&@%!] me, right?

Yesterday I went to Koreatown (in Toronto) with my friends. I got a BTS poster to put in my room! And more Melon Milk! And Strawberry Milk and Banana Milk, too!
We also went out for Korean food and karaoke, which was lots of fun.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
It's a cooking utensil we just recently bought. Two bricks/slabs of smooth rock salt in a metal frame. You put fish on it then bake the whole thing. Suppose to help lift up the flavor a bit, like specially cut cedar planks
But honestly, it is literally just a slab of salt. Nothing special.. But so tempting....

Oh, that's fine then. I thought you spotted it in some shop and then went over and licked it. Lol.
Ooo, they sound cool to cook things on. You'll have to tell us what you think of the food cooked on it.
-----------------
At lunch time today, I had one of my favourite sandwiches: baguette with chicken, lettuce and salad cream on.
Then outside it's got that first suggestion of Autumn. It's sunny, but there's a distinct nip in the air, and a cool freshness with a hint of sea salt in the breeze. Nice.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
So, I went on that cooking trip yesterday. Twas fun. Made Chicken Korma with Pilua rice and Apple Cinnamon Crumble. Admittly, my mentor(tis what they are called) kinda did most of the work and I really wish I took charge better. I'm kinda one of those people who struggle to do that. But I sliced chicken for the first time in my adult life and avoided burning the place down.
Kinda want to cook some [&@%!] chicken. *sees price* WHY!? WHY DO YOU KEEP STOPPING MY WISHES, LIFE!? *sobs*
Yeah, tis not justifiable for budgets. Stupid pittance! I mean, there's no cheap butchers/nothing cheap around here. It alone, is £1.50 to £2 and that is just for mini-fillets. The normal sized stuff is too much. Like seriously, why is fresh meat that expensive? Frozen stuff? I could get but that's usually battered, breaded and worse, that is now expensive. The only justification is that it's bulk. E.g. Iceland's 8 southern fried chicken fillets.
Hopefully, September(I know, I said it last month. Life is persisting in giving me lemons and I am getting real mad. What? It's either Lemons based expression of my futile endeavours to get a flaming job or the usual ranty swear filled negative description of it backed by heavy metal as I rave about it.) is the month that starts getting me closer and closer to it. If not,
Do i need to go around with a billboard with my CV? I really do not want to be unemployed for Christmas again. I told myself I wouldn't and that 2017 was the year.
Oh and [&@%!] the price of prawns.
What was I saying again? I think tomorrow, I shall tackle the change mug. Tis shrapnel(slang for loose change over here in England) and could do with being bagged.
Oh and purchased the Steig Larrson Milluem trilogy. I may have no room to add to the collection but that is what a nail is for. I am kidding, I'll use a spear to hang it up.
TL:DR: Dovah had fun yesterday. Cooked chicken. Rants about life, gets sent to the corner of shutting up and is trying to be funny.

Cass in a nutshell, fangirling hard these days No wait, that doesn't even do it justice. Here Melt away Cass, melt away underneath all that glory

So I've had, what, five days off of work while my car is getting fixed? And I am slowly going insane. Solution? I.. Uh.. May have bought two more boxes of cake mix >_> triple chocolate to be more precise.. It even comes with a package of fudge
Also bought some peanut butter icing & some salted caramel icing. They weren't selling any cookies n cream :< but apparently, five different versions of vanilla is perfectly fine. Oh well, I got cake I can now make
