Hi everyone! Guess who’s back but not really! That’s right, I’m going straight from camp to my internet-free cottage. So this is just a quick drop in to say hello. Camp was undeniably amazing. Being a councillor is honestly so much fun. I’m a-feeling fantastic. More details to follow when I get back home.

Also, you guys are so sweet. I love your goodbyes. I’m sorry that I never posted in here before leaving. Lots to do, not much time to do it. You know how it is.

I’ll beg and plead to use my parents’ data for RP stuff. We’ll see how that goes.

Hello everybody !

I'm now in charge to generate the DaggerfallSetup after AncestralGhost that did the job during many years. For French people, I'm also in charge of the PFD, the Project French Daggerfall (PFD), because Ancestral Ghost is now a real worker and has no more time for such tasks dedicated to video games.

How did this happen ? Because back in the years 2011 to 2013 I spend really many time to translate VortexDragon's DFTools from Russian to English, to debug and enhance them, to finally finish the complete translation of Daggerfall in French. In 2017 I transfered the DFTools sources from old Borland C++ v6 that do not support 64 bits OS to the last Embarcadero C++Builder 10.2 version and Windows 10. Following that I modified another set of PFD files, a new PFDSetup was needed, Ancestral Ghost had no time, so here I am, with DaggerfallSetup in the basket !

Who am I ? A very old video games player that play with them since their beginning. If I never used a console, I played first on Apple II, then Commodore 64, Atari 1040ST and a long list of PCs up to now. I begun with many text only adventure games (Colossal cave, Red Moon, Return to Eden...) and begun the RPG with Ultima IV on C64 in 1985 and twelve years later on PC went a certain... Daggerfall. Today it's Witcher 3, what an evolution !

Apart from Daggerfall tools and translation, I'm an active member since 2008, on a French video game site, of forums dedicated to The Witcher 1, 2 and 3. Because I really like the games and Sapkowski's world, I translated in French since 2013 three short stories of Andrzej Sapkowski that are not officially released in this language and two old Polish comics. Before works on Daggerfall and The Witcher world, I spend many time from 2009 to 2011 on the French translation of Mount&Blade and Warband, developing for that a dedicated tool, FusionM&B, to help the M&B translaters.

I've come into this forum because Chizmad requires some help, see the subject "DaggerFall issue everything is sped up, not clockspeed issue". To answer him I had to create an account and here I am !

Wandering on the forum I saw that some links toward DaggerfallSetup and other pages are outdated but I discovered that I'm not yet authorised to give links in my posts until I've posted ten times. Hope this one will count, it's the 5th ! As I don't like to post for nothing, you'll have to wait a while until I'm able to fix the old links.

When you say DaggerfallSetup, is that like a specialized installer with mods and such? I've installed the DOSBOX Daggerfall we have on the will a while back, but idk if that's the same thing.

Welcome Daneel53. The Daggerfall Setup is great, much more convenient for the user than messing around with DOSbox settings, it's what I used when I played Daggerfall. So it's nice to hear somebody is still working on it.

It is also amazing to see that this game is still played after twenty years and that there is still some work on it. I'm echanging mails with Deepfighter who is currently translating Daggerfall in German. I think that he is almost alone but the work is going on and I'll have to introduce a new version of Deutsch Daggerfall into DaggerfallSetup. That means that a version 2.14 of DaggerfallSetup will have to be generated soon: does this job will end one day ? Somebody has to do it !

But let's stop this discussion now, this is not the right subject for that. Thanks everybody for your welcome !
