BE3 Discussion
So what did y'all think of Bethesda's E3 presentation? For those who missed it, I've summarized it and included links to trailers on the UESP blog: http://blog.uesp.net/index.php/2017/06/ ... cap#more24
What do you think of the Creation Club? Which games and updates are you most looking forward to?

Re: BE3 Discussion
Creation Club is ehhh. Paid mods is no bueno. The only benefit I could see is community content creators who make big ol' questlines and the like, who put real effort and creativity towards projects--that kind of stuff, I'd be happy to toss a few bucks their way to support them and enjoy their work. But spending X dollars on, like, a single unique sword or armor set? No way.
Their work in VR is cool, but I personally am not bothering with any of that tech until it gets some more impressive advances. But that's another discussion entirely.
Sequels/DLC for stuff I don't really care about, meh. I mean, cool for people who like Legends/Quake/Dishonored/Wolfenstein, but not really my tastes.
...The presentation overall was pretty disappointing. An over-reliance on pre-recorded video, and pre-rendered cinematics, with very little in the way of actual gameplay presentation, or describing any new or "revolutionary" mechanical changes. But that's kind of E3 in a nutshell, isn't it? It's the hype train, the press' buffet. A lot of smoke and little substance--just stuff to talk about.
But I am grateful that they didn't say a word on a new single player Elder Scrolls game, or a Fallout sequel. As much as I desperately want such things, I want them to be well written and fresh and new. The waiting is worth it. If they pumped out an ES game every year, it'd be garbage shovelware. So as poor as their presentation skills were this year, I'm grateful they still seem to put thought and effort into how they make their games.

Re: BE3 Discussion
Creation Club, no good. Pay what you want model from $0 up for everything ala Bandcamp, cool. This, no. Putting aside all the other issues for a second, it really does encourage Bethesda to never fix the problems which plague their games, why should they make a good UI if someone else will after the fact and they can make money off it? Why fix your awful inventory systems when somebody will? I've had to reload Fallout 4 entirely because I didn't read the name of a holotape I picked up and it was impossible to find in my mess of an inventory.
The Evil Within? Eh, didn't like the first one very much, so I'm not particularly interested. Still might play it eventually.
Wolfenstein & Dishonored? Cool, looking forward to both of these, quite enjoyed their predecessors and the previews make me excited. More excited for Dishonored, naturally, I like it more. But Wolfenstein was good. I'm curious if the woman who looks like Angela Davis actually is Angela Davis seeing as Jimi Hendrix was in The New Order.

So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

The only thing I want to know is: VFR from DOOM VFR stand for Virtual [&@%!] Reality? Probably. I shouldn't be amused by this but I am.

Re: BE3 Discussion
Creation Club is an awful idea because it's Bethesda's answer to Greenlight. Greenlight started off as a good idea then went downwards really quickly. They can claim it's offical DLC but it's just paid mods and Bethesda isn't the best developer to handle QA testing. *looks at Skyrim when it came out on PS3*
Most of the major mods tend to have a donate button. This? This will split the modding community in half and it could give them the incentive to half arse TESVI. Why bother doing the work when you can hand it over to third parties under the guise of Creation Club. Why do DLC when you can give that over to the Creation Club? Worse, Bethesda is more then capable of delivering superb things and have the manpower to do so. This could be a bit of a stretch, I know but I hope i am wrong and it is just something to compliment. Does this mean that Bethesda will have to clamp down on a lot of copyrighted content due to it no longer being free(when they submit it to them)? E.g. Star Wars, I can't see Disney being happy with TES having lightsabers as paid content. However, this could mean that the Unoffical Patches can be ported over to the consoles though, that being paid content would be crap. Just crap. As Baloth said, the only thing that I can see, is the big modders. Sadly, it's going to be cosmestic items, armour mods, the small stuff that you can get on the nexus and i suspect, Bethesda will bend the rules if it's slightly retextured.
Skyrim. Skyrim. Skyrim? SKYRIIIIIIIM! Seriously, stop with the SKyrim spam. I mean, there's 3 re-releases this year. 3. The copy-paste job that was released earlier this year. The upcoming Legends of Zeldrim. er... linkrim? Legend of Sky? Dang it, it makes for no pun. The switch and now VR. What's next? a mobile version? I thought I never say this but i'm starting to get fed up with all these Skyrim releases.
Skyrim VR. If they can get the entire game to run without any gimmicks, any cutbacks, i will be seriously impressed. I would consider subjecting myself to VR because of Skyrim for immersion purposes. (I view VR as something that is gimmicky and potentially bad for my eyes). But i suspect they will have to dial back a lot of the stuff. Fallout 4 VR. Yay. Settlement Craft:the game: VR. Wooo. There better be fully rendered bodies otherwise, tis a bit meh.
Doom:VFR. So, it's teleporting doom? [&@%!] it. It's Doom the Virtual [&@%!] Reality Game. Just [&@%!] it. It's Doom. Doom VR is just a [&@%!] it moment. Doom, VR? Sod it. Do it. I am taking the mick here tbh as it's doom. Of all the games to do VR, it's Doom. The granddaddy of them all. The game that pretty much doesn't care for being modern and did it's own modern approach without caring about the trends.
Dishonoured:Kill the Outsider sounds interesting and if it's a proper expansion, it could be excellent. That said, tis Dishonoured. And no, i can't spell it correctly because it's hardwired into my brain.
ESO continues to grow. I continue to weep at the mere prospect of having to fork out a lot of cash when I get around to it. Stop supporting it, Zenimax! Stop making me want it! stop it! Stop! *Breaks down into laughing sobs* But joking aside, tis good to see regular new content. Kinda makes me wish Skyrim had this level of content instead of 2 DLCs, one add-on and a billion remasters/ports.
The Evil Within 2. Er.... not the game I would give a sequel too but i'll pick up the first one at some point. Tis said to be decent and more Silent Hill then Silent Hill.
Skyrim Switch. Amibo? Amibooo!? Didn't that fad die out last year? I am doubtful there will be mods on it because well, Nintendo has just about embraced online without the complicated system and mods is something that i suspect is 5-10 years away for Nintendo. Nintendo does Nintendo a lot nowadays. Surprised Legends isn't being ported over.
Overall, i would say, tis alright. Apart from Skyrim being milked and the paid mods/Bethesda Greenlight. Seriously, Bethesda. Why? Why do your own version of Greenlight when Greenlight just finished it's burial?
Nothing outstanding but nothing bad(apart from Skyrim spam and paid mods).
I think, Doom VFR may allow us to give the bird. Please let that happen. Let more Brutal Doom elements in Doom! Do it! Do it! Doooo it! *combusts from the hype*

I can see somebody isn't looking forward to "Skyrim - 10th Anniversary Edition" in 2021, "Skyrim and Fallout 4 come to GOG" in 2022 or "The Elder Scrolls 30th Anniversary Collection" in 2024.The SheoDovah wrote:Skyrim. I wouldn't mind Skyrim and F4 coming to GOG. Kinda surprising it isn't on GOG at the moment. They're going to take a leaf out of Ubisoft's book and do a trillion dollar edition aren't they? O_O

They're too busy relaunching Skyrim to make it DRM-free. Oblivion only came to GOG less than two weeks ago.The SheoDovah wrote:I wouldn't mind Skyrim and F4 coming to GOG. Re: BE3 Discussion
Not much of interest for me, besides the TES: Legends and Wolfenstein reveals. Looks like several more dry years for the main franchises.
The 150 card expansion for TES:L will expand the game's card pool by almost 50% on its own. That, combined with the recent Steam release and imminent mobile release gives me a lot of hope for the game.
