I sometimes wonder if I could commission someone to draw me some pictures of things I want. I'm not good at drawing and I have interest in getting better at it (doesn't hold my interest). Just something to think about I guess.

I made a song???? a couple weeks ago, now I've put it on YouTube. I've been playing it on the piano for the last few years after I came up with it, and I decided to create it in FL Studio after downloading the demo (initially to make High Quality Rips). It was my first attempt at making something from scratch in the program. Remember that. It's important.

Check it out if you're so inclined?

I wrote a couple of short stories. Here they are for your reading pleasure; let me know what you think.

The Door To Nowhere
A scholar gives his statement regarding the dark events which occurred during a visit to his sister's home in the woods outside Whiterun, written as an homage to the style of H. P. Lovecraft.

A Terrible Headache
A short tale of a First-era necromancer, written as an homage to the style of Clark Ashton Smith.

Here's a mashup I finished today, it's blocked in Canada and the US but there's a link in the video description to a page where you can still listen to the audio.

I made a new track. It's a little barebones, but I thought I'd get back into making music: https://soundcloud.com/user-838574454/limit-evolve
(There's some static inbetween instrumentation at the beginning, but that's something I have to live with for the moment)

Sounds really fun, Meta! Keep going and make more.

As for my own musical exploits, I've finally hopped on the We Are Number One bandwagon while doing warmups today after a long time of not doing music. That's why it's bad. I promise.

Oh and I also found the password to my old Soundcloud, where I have things hidden away I'd forgotten about. They partially sound nice, too, which makes me think I've devolved.

All right, I published a new story a few days ago, it's a paranormal story (haunted house type) and so feel free to read it here.

Since I'm gonna try to hang around here a bit more often, I thought I'd share some of what's been keeping me away over the last few months... https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... zUAPNGf_bw (Note: I'd recommend not listening to the first two videos first, if at all, since they're non-indicative of the quality and type of content of the rest.)

I was feeling silly/poemy, so I made up new lyrics for part of the Do-Re-Mi song in The Sound of Music.
Hidden:
Dough, the stuff that makes some bread
Ray, best of the ghostbusters
Me, that's who's writing this song
Far, the distance into space

So, a cheeky child's retort
La, I've nothing for this word
Tee, it holds up a golf ball

That will bring us back to dough.

Had more time for writing lately. Not sure if I am going to continue with this. Would love some opinions though; good and bad.

It's in a world that's a sort of mash-up between steam-punk and post-apocalyptic and horror (though none of these elements are apparent from this extract).
Hidden:
Bastion
Chapter I; Part I

The street bustled with small merchants establishing their stalls. Cramped between the rising tenements their market bore a sense of fabricated narrowness, compounding the claustrophobia Nell felt as she manoeuvred among the men and women of the creep. But had that been the worst of it, she might have considered herself blessed on reflection. It was the stench, rather, which hit like one of the freight trains out of papa’s stories: [&@%!] and [&@%!] and rotten vegetables permeated the air, piercing the noxious odours of coal and fire-smoke which might have been a kind familiar in this alien clime.

She could catch the snippets being spoken about her. Such a presence had captured jolted stares and whispers, interrupting the morning’s gossip. Instinct drove her hand towards the comforting grip of the silver dining knife she carried. It was wedged into the belt of her dress and she hoped it made her look intimidating, but among these, she couldn’t imagine the threat of death meant much. It all made her anxious and she could feel her legs began to stride forth with greater intent, her steps becoming uneven as her pace hurried.

---

Raul’s closed. Worn, the architecture aged, it was like everything else in this part of the city. Its red-brick exterior was faded and blotched blonde in regions, the wood of the door peeled - the paint had given up long before. Resisting the urge to take a breath, Nell pressed inside. The furore from the streets began to dissipate, replaced by soft discussions and softer grumblings among the early-morning drinkers. Whether the smell lingered in her nostrils, or in the bar, she didn’t want to think about. A glance was passed across the room, she’d been deliberately late to avoid needing to spend more time than was necessary in the hole. Her gaze, however, was near-immediately blocked when an individual stepped forward, hand outstretched. He’d begun his pitch before she could even recoil.

“Excuse me, ma’am, if I might say you don’t look like you are from around these parts. And if you’re looking for a hire, I can promise that I’m your man.”

She almost tripped in her backstep, gaze falling to the man’s hand: Clean, however, she shook it.

Beginning to look up she realised that the man was but a boy. He couldn't have been much older than herself. “Em”. She struggled to find the words as she examined him. A broad smile beamed the worst of his innocence, emphasising features contained with youth and vigour and inexperience. But etched throughout was a genuine good-nature, he breathed a warmth which had her clutching his hand a moment longer than necessary. “Em.” It was repeated and she never felt so stupid. “I-.. I have a meeting scheduled, apologies.” She stepped past his nod and glum smile with a fluster, out onto the bar floor.

Her vision now more complete, she renewed her search for the women she had intended to meet. Surveying the bar, her skin crawled as she realised the filth of the place. Even the most earnest of cleanings would probably fail to wipe the age from the furniture. It’s booths dilapidated, it’s tables grub-ridden, old posters advertising beers and spirits peeled from the walls. Vision reaching into the corners of the premise, she spotted the a women sitting near the back. Sitting alone, arms folded, disposition ice-cold, her hair was the same colour as the black sands of the wasteland and cut scandalously short. It all matched the description she’d been given and it made her highly uncomfortable.

Gaze lingering, she didn’t realise she was beginning to stare until the women had returned her own, dark brows furrowing over beads that managed to be darker still. Resisting the urge to seize still in the same anxiousness which had almost kept her in bed that morning, Nell turned into the bar. The man behind it was about as cheerful as the furniture. Speechless for a moment, a nervous glance passed across the grime-covered taps. His frown only grew as she managed a request:

“Just, eh.., just something from a bottle.”

I made a new Soundcloud, gave myself an actual pseudonym/stage name, and made some quick tunes. Basically I want to try and form a more cohesive sound for myself, something that's recognizable and conceptually within some given (though loose) parameters. The tunes are rough around the edges, but they're an idea of the direction I'm taking. Hopefully working like this is going to help me improve enough to be at least semi-professional.

You always make good beats.
I can imagine this playing at a rave.

@Aarah
Well the three headed one is the representation of the trimurti, the three deities of creation (represented as Shakti the woman), maintenance (represented as the middle head as vishnu) and destruction (represented as the older man head as Bhairava). The idea was to play on the sheogorath island from oblivion and at the same time represent the world as chaotic but with a peaceful core existence.

The colorful woman is the Goddess Saraswati and I have been working on trying to draw her for years without success. Most of my designs are always just done freely when they occur to me and this one was no different. I put on a good playlist devoted to her and *poof* it just kinda happened.

^That's nice to have a story behind the drawing. It gives it more emotion and depth and I think this shows in the ink.
Must have taken many hours to do.

Do you do anything with the finished pieces? (Post somewhere like Deviantart or wherever). It would be a shame to have them go unseen.
