I did a very brief search on the wiki for it, but wasn't able to find the answers. As one enters the Rift through the track that begins
near Fort Amol (The one with a bandit on a fallen tree spanning a gorge) there's a small bit of ruins. A gate by the look of it. I'm fairly sure this is in the vanilla game as I've seen it before on Xbox 360 (I'm now on Xbox One). As you pass through a wisp, as in the creature, came out of the trees and flew about a bit, before going to a well just to the south of the ruined gates. The well is boarded up and can't be interacted with as far as I can tell, and hitting the wisp just makes it disappear. Anyone know what this is? One of my mods, an easter egg or a quest?

It's this I think, in the Unmarked Places page:
afaik this is another one of those cool little places that people who wander around a bit can discover, but no actual quest or anything.

Odd, no wispmother for me either. Must have broken. It's a shame that would have been cool.

Re: Strange Wisp
I just took another look at this location with my current character.
To start with there were the 3 wisps flying a circuit around the ruin area. I decided to go say hello to one of them but as soon as I got close it flew straight off to the well and hovered above it. Then the wispmother rose up and all 4 of them attacked me. That's what trying to be friendly gets you in Skyrim I guess.
Normally I would have stealth-shot all 3 wisps before they detected me so that might explain why I hadn't seen the wispmother before today, maybe.
Sounds a little like 2 of the wisps and the wispmother had already been killed in your play-through..?
Cool that we can still keep finding these little details in the game after all this time, though.

Re: Strange Wisp
Is the event repeatable and/or level-dependant? I've been over this hill many times with the same character, have seen wisps, and have fought the wispmother, but until this thread I don't know if I ever thought much about what I observed near the well. I'm pretty sure I've seen the wisp go in or mom pop out, but how often I cannot say.
His name was Emer Dareloth.

Re: Strange Wisp
Well the enemies seem to require a certain level, not sure if the event itself has any additional dependencies. I began a new game and went up to level 5 and... no wisps, no wispmother. So... somewhere between level 5 and 73 for starters...Imbalance wrote:Is the event level-dependant?
Dunno. I'll head back after 10 and/or 30 in-game days and see what's up.Imbalance wrote:Is the event repeatable?
