Persona: Shadows of the Mind

[Aarah]

Keira similarly looked over at Max. She let out a short, nasal exhalation in expression of her amusement over his posture on the chairs.

"Oh, social work? Cool. Working to help people is so rewarding, don't you think?" She replied as she refocused on Maria.

"And I see you're a reader." Her eyes beckoned to the girl's book.
"Whatcha reading? Anything good?"

[Cassandra]

"Oh, I wouldn't go so far as to call it good." She smiled as she looked down at the pages. "Just another cheap romance - kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. But, you know, it's entertaining enough."

[The-Shadow-One]

Kieran blinked, looking at Max, a small smile splitting across his lips out of amusement of the cat like sprawl. "Not much, had a weird dream last night. Trying to see if it means anything, it was that weird. Sup with you geek?" He replied, stretching with his legs, putting his phone away for now.

[Aarah]

"Just reading it for the sexy stuff, huh?" Keira said to Maria with a sly smile.

[Cassandra]

Maria rolled her eyes, but the corners of her mouth turned up in a smile. "Do you do any sort of reading?"

[Baloth-Kul]

Exchanging the smile, Max stuck his tongue out at Kieran. "A dream, huh? Probably means you're stressing over school. Pretty sure I had one of those last night, too."

His smile quickly turned into an exaggerated pout. "I just want to get the hell outta' here, do something. Think I'd rather be writing an exam than just sitting here, waiting for my timetable."

[Aarah]

"No, not really. I always mean to get into reading more, but, I end up reading the first few chapters and then I get bored. I get bored kinda easily."
Keira began rummaging in her bag.
"You want a mint? They're sugar free."

[Rook]

James Cothran was tapping his hand impatiently upon his knee, though not particularly thrilled to be dealt his curricular fate, sitting here was a complete waste of time. He could be out doing... something, at least, before school officially started. He hadn't given much thought to last night beyond the symptoms of his lack of sleep. He'd paid no mind to the strange dream and, in fact, he'd almost forgotten about it, except for the nose on that weird little man which kept popping up in his mind's eye.

Deciding that there was no point in trying to snooze, James turned is attention to the other students in the room, his eyes eventually falling upon the odd Japanese girl. He shifted a bit closer and leaned over to nudge Mokoto, "You feelin' all right?"

[Cassandra]

"Sure, I'll have one. Thanks."

[Aarah]

Keira handed Maria a mint. It was a creamy colour, wrapped in a clear plastic wrapper with a green stripe across it.

She felt another yawn coming on and tried to stifle it, but it refused to be denied.
"Yyyyuuuuurrr! Oh, excuse me! I got the Sunday sleepies!"
Popping a mint into her mouth, Keira gave her phone a quick look without taking it out of her bag.

Keira saw from her peek that she had a notification on her instant messaging app.

[Aarah]

Spotting a notification, Keira lifted her phone and tapped to read the message.

Oscar Nigel Tarinson

Oscar observed and heard the various conversations from the corner he stood in and made a decision regarding everyone else. He decided that none were bullies based on what little evidence he gathered so far and believed there would be no harm in catching a bit of shut eye. So, he leaned backwards against the wall and closed his eyes in order to have a nice power nap.

[Pilovv]

Though she was zoning out, she widened her eye as her head shot up. Then she realised she probably looked a bit crazy, trying to calm down. She'd completely missed what he had said... She tried to make her posture less awkward, looking over to him. "Ahm. . . Yes?"

Hopefully it was the right answer. Not sure where to look, she ended up looking back down at the floor again. Gee, these people sure were noisy. If it weren't for that dream, she would be wishing she was back in bed right about now.

[Unionhack]

Keira checked the message that had popped up. It was from her boyfriend, Nick.

Hey, are you still at school? I figured we could do something today, before school goes back in session for real.

[Cassandra]

"Thanks," said Maria, unwrapping the mint and placing it in her mouth. Seeing Keira reach for her phone, she turned her gaze once again to the pages of her book.

[Aarah]

Keira began to write a reply to her received message.

Yes, I'm stiiiill waiting to get my schedule.
That sounds great. Don't know when I'll be out of here though. Probably December. I need coffee. Send coffee, pls. xx

[Rook]

"Well you look like you're trying to stare a hole in the floor, so I thought I'd ask." James laughed, seemingly oblivious to her reluctance. He held out his hand, "I'm James. Junior year."

[The-Shadow-One]

"I know what you mean." Kieran stated, yawning slightly as he did so. "I guess they lost our timetables or something." A joking grin crosses his face. "If they don't find it guess we got free time all the time."

[Pilovv]

Makoto huffed a little, still looking at the floor. She wasn't blocking him out. Mostly because she couldn't get away with it, and she supposed she'd feel bad. "Makoto. Senior." First name basis was weird... She hadn't brought her head up, so she never noticed him extend her hand. She kept staring at the floor.

[Baloth-Kul]

"Oh, and what a shame that'd be." Max replied with a smirk. "What would you be doing with all that spare time, hm?"

It's time for the official start, folks! I appreciate you guys joining me on this, I'm really looking forward to playing it out and I hope you guys enjoy playing it as much as I've enjoyed throwing it together.

Some notes before we begin;

1. As I mentioned in the RP Discussion Thread, this RP is going to be rather slow-burn. Discovering plot details, uncovering secrets, will take several in-game days or even weeks. This doesn't mean the posting pace will be any faster or slower than usual; just want you guys to know that things may take some time.
2. Because of this earlier point, we're going to be skipping around a few days at a time, from time to time. You guys have a full school year to get through, after all!
3. When these skips occur, I will be asking what you guys were doing in the meantime. You are free to interact with eachother and be #CoolKids in whatever fashion you please. Just remember, you signed a contract accepting responsibility for your actions, and Igor may take notice of actions unbecoming of your coming powers! But that's a story for another time.

Again, I hope we all have fun.

After a moment, Nick replied.

Well I don't think I can send any, haha. But don't worry, we can grab some on your way out. There's a nice place I found right outside of campus, you'd like it.

12:21 p.m.; School Waiting Room

Again the door to the room opened, and another student entered; this time, however, this signified that the waiting period was likely over; the student to enter was Henry Gauthier, senior student council president and the Academy's all-around star pupil. Not only was he the president's own son, he was just about as ideal as a student could be; involved in both sports in the arts, hailed for a flawless transcript, good looks to boot, and a prized native son of Canada. Due to his success and grooming to the role, Henry had been assisting the faculty with the registration process, given that he would seek a job in Academia post graduation.

Because of his well-known presence on campus, he was a known face to everyone gathered, whether they liked him or not. He looked over everyone, smiled, and began to speak.

"My apologies, everyone. We didn't mean to keep you here for so long; as you may have guessed, there was an issue with your registration. Normally, we have backups in place to prevent this from happening, but that's just what has kept us paused for so long. I'm not exactly sure how to put this... but it seems that the records for all seven of you are just... completely gone. It's as if you've never attended this academy at all. This is what has been giving us such pause, and honestly... we're not entirely sure how to proceed, nor do we understand how such a targeted thing happened."

Oscar Nigel Tarinson

Oscar Nigel Tarinson was woken from his slumber by the voice that addressed the room and he yawned as he opened his eyes. "Then someone [&@%!] up their [&@%!] job." He commented before yawning again. He did not like the sound of this and could not help but partially wonder if it was related to the weird dream that he had last night.

[Pilovv]

Makoto looked over to the boy who had walked in, sighing at the news he brought. Their records were gone? She had actually been signed up to this school, right? Nothing seemed to go right. She then looked over at Oscar, who was being. . . Let's say loud.

She would say something, but she didn't want to deal with it. She listened to the student council president, pondering what could have happened... Maybe she'd get a few days off if they didn't sort this out. But she doubted she'd get that lucky.

[Aarah]

Keira replied to Nick.

Great! See u later then. Kx

She pressed 'send' just as the door once again opened.
She recognised Henry.
At last! No more waiting.

The relief of the wait being over was short-lived, however, as Henry delivered the strange news.
Keira was too busy assessing the information in her head to notice Oscar's colourful language.
"So...what does that mean exactly?" She asked the senior student council president with concern.
