Baelfire - Raid Group

Before Baelfire entered the tavern with Elona and Laurius, he said to them, "We should separate a bit. Looks less suspicious."

He entered the establishment with the intention to go and take a seat alone at one of the tables, but he stopped in his tracks as he saw his plan was scuppered by the chairs being stacked up.
And so he stood by the door, alternating glances between his comrades and the curly haired girl as she spoke of breakfast.

Arya - Bars & Nobles

"N..N..natural, yes. Indeed.."

She said with reserved tongue; standing before the entrance, along side her fellow associates, quite literally shaking in her boots

"All w..within this.. Quaint.. Little.. Establishment"

It was hard to say whether the prospect of the mission, the openly public engagement, or the tavern itself. Probably the later two. Either way, she was nervous without a doubt. Vila's mentor was as hopeless in social affairs as ever, when so displaced from the comfort of her business

Philip - Intelligence Group

"That's perfect, glad I went with you two." said Philip to Vila. He could tell Arya was still nervous, he was almost starting to wonder if she'd ever left her store. Her introverted nature certainly set her apart from Philip's outgoing personality but that didn't mean they couldn't get along, he tried to set her mind at ease. "Look, I can tell this isn't your usual haunt. But it's early, noon won't be for hours. As rowdy as taverns can be, that never happens until evening. Right now, place will be quiet. There's probably only a couple of people in there, regulars, travelers, the sort who'll mind their own business and leave you be." said Philip. "And if someone does try anything, you light their arse on fire."

Vila - Intelligence

Phillip meant well, Vila could tell, but the last line was something she knew from experience would not set Arya's mind to ease. She contorted her mouth into an expression that read "oh oh no, playing with fire no no" and butted in quickly: "you won't have to set anyone's arse on fire, though. That's plan C, which we will not need." Maybe she was a little too doting on her teacher, though, she thought. They were part of a secret Legion division now. Things would get ugly in some way eventually, it might be best to prepare her early.

"In any case, we'll need to appear as if we've spent the night carousing over the possible business we want to conduct. It is a little bit abnormal for three people to go into a tavern in the town they live in at dawn's break, completely sober. So we should knock a few back and hide in plain sight, yes?" The alcohol might help with the unease. She hoped.

Arya: Intel

"Usual h..haunt?" She said in a perplexed tone, though her body told well enough. To what he said, almost seemed unconceivable "I can do rowdy!" Quickly she brandished her hand through her hair, leaving it unkempt and unruly, like she had spent the whole night within her arcane workshop, before bringing that hand to bear on her chest and leaned forth in protest "See?!"

And as if in a show of strength, she readied to burst through the tavern door, with boot if she must. That is to say, she would of. The moment she took a step, her face turned green and a sickening feeling washed over her, before promptly turning away. All that came was a sickly exhale and luckily nothing more

Certainly, she pushed herself far beyond what she is. Like she had something to prove. Being so brave and rash, were clearly far traits from this eccentric elf. Her outburst was well outlived, and she quickly resumed that helpless composure "Yes... Yes.. Let us not ignite this already.. Dire scribe.." She said between breaths

To anybody else, it would very much look like one of the three was already deep in a barrel of rum.

The girl's gaze had returned to the table following the utterance but a moment passed and the sound of the door re-opening and her new company filing out failed to fill the room. She raised her face once more: this time her features came into view as her hair fell to the side. Baelfire could make them out from their distance. Her face was pallid as if she hadn't managed much sleep; her eyes were puffy. But her expression transformed as she seemed to take in the appearance of her guests for the first time, all armed in one way or the other. When her tone rose to meet them again, it possessed a small level of anxiety that was absent the time before.

"Are yous deaf? We don't do breakfast. Yous can come back when we open properly at noon."

Church Undercroft -> Ygfla's, 7.25am

Their trip was uneventful with Henri the pair leading purposefully through the city streets. The change of tone which emerged when they stepped into the square where the brothel was located was palpable. It seemed worn, tired even. The bars - still open, still serving - had a seedier look to them than the taverns that were the more typical in Cheydinhal. The entrance to the brothel itself had a bouncer: a large Nord, blonde locks flowed to his lower back and a steel war-axe was only inches from his grip. However, as the three passed through, he only passed a nod - a nod which seemed directed at Henri before the rest of them.

That was a previous customer seemed to be made evident when they stepped inside.

"Henri, you little [&@%!] [&@%!]."

It was a women's voice and before any of them had the opportunity to go looking for her she had begun stomping towards them. An Orc, she possessed a voluptuous figure and an impressive pair or ivory tusks which curled outwards and upwards from her bottom lip. Her intentions were obvious from the expression on her face - but when she struck Henri, it wasn't a slap: it was a punch. The Breton reeled back, holding the side of his face where he had been punched.

"Beth, Beth, Beth... I had no idea you still wo-"

"You [&@%!] [&@%!]." It was repeated as she struck him a second time. No-one else in the room seemed to move to stop it.

But Henri was more ready that time and seemed to move forward in a bid to absorb the blow. His hands reached up to guard his face as she stopped and extended them all a stern look, though it lingered on Henri. The Breton's own gaze turned to his companions: "I am going to sort this out, yous look for the Madame - ask her for details on what she told Hadras, tell her you're with me".

Looking forward, the room itself was but an entrance hall. There was a lot of velvet and a lot of purple. Some of the girls were lined up along the space, passing the newcomers wicked smiles. The sign on the wall suggested that following the hall would lead them on to the main show.

"We aren't here for breakfast." Baelfire replied to the girl.
He remained standing over by the door.

Arya's short lived enthusiasm was quite the spectacle, it was probably a good thing that Philip and Vila were the only other people around to see it. Philip didn't say anything lest the poor woman be embarrassed further and instead simply walked past with a gentle smile and opened the door to tavern. Philip would step inside and look around, but he didn't have any plans on making his way to a seat until his companions entered.

Opening the door, Philip would find the interior itself broadly unchanged: worn around the edges, it managed to maintain a charm enough to keep some regulars turning up. The bar itself was directly across from the door with the bar-area extending a greater distance to their right than to their left: an unoccupied stage, the one Phillip had played on prior, was located to his right. It wasn't as busy as the last time he'd played, but at the time in the morning it was, the emptiness shouldn't have been surprising. There were three other patrons. Two men sat close to the stage, consuming a meal. Both wore garb typical of merchants, and the gear set beside them suggested that they were wanderers. Closer to bar was another man: his hair was stained with grease, and his clothing was scruffy; he gathered the food up in his meaty paws, eschewing the cutlery which had been provided.

Lette, who Phillip recognised, was behind the bar. She hadn't looked up at them enter, seeming to be preoccupied with something behind the bar.

"W..W..wait..!" The elf mustered as she tried to scramble after the bard, not in any attempt to stop him but to closely follow. Already hot at his heels, she tried her best to wiggle a glance on this less than familiar facility.

Her disheveled hair and quint self, just barely able to glance over his shoulder Though, even then, she certainly took great caution to not touch her young associate's attire, as so not to accidentally push him.

Vila quickly rushed after the two, slowing down as she caught up with her mentor, gently guiding her into the alien world of the tavern. Once they were all inside, and she had assessed the surroundings, the Dunmer nodded towards a small table not too far off the lone man. They couldn't go around asking questions right from the get go.

"Let's sit down and order something first, and come up with a plan of operations."

Shulbash

"You don't say." The orc dryly remarked. Presumes I am the dumb muscle. Either the Legion is in need of more help then expected or she is foolish to presume that dumb muscles are needed. Shulbash spotted the drunken Altmeri soldiers and merely observed as they walked past the ongoing incident. if they murder him. Skullbash will murder them if I have the chance to unleash it. Expect they will try to harrass us if noticed.
With that, he continued to walk and played the part of the silent orc.

Philip - Intelligence

Philip turned his eyes to look at Vila as she indicated which table they should go to. Philip smirked and quickly ran his hand through his hair. The Redguard strutted his way across the tavern floor before pulling out a chair at the table and taking a seat.

Vila followed suit, picking the chair that would seat her between the other two at the quadratic table, giving her a vantage point of both her companions and the rest of the tavern, setting her elbows down on the table and clasping her hands together.

Slinking by to take her seat, she seemed to sink down within her robes, and remained mostly quiet. Her unkempt hair and shy composure led a stark contrast to the others

"You think they've got okay Sujamma here?" Vila asked into the round, eager to get the casual chatting underway and blend in. And to have that sujamma. It had been quite a long, eventful night, after all.

Philip - Intelligence

Philip was sitting with his right leg on the ground and the left leg lazily crossed over it, his left arm was on the table while his right was dangling across the back of his chair. Philip made a 'tch' noise. "Well, they say there's no good sujamma outside of Morrowind. Although I did meet some worshi- wonderful people who brewed their own, one of the best drinks I've ever had. The sujamma they had when I was here before was good but that was, before. May not have it anymore, probably an import, it'd certainly be more watered down." said Philip. Still he nodded. "Two sujammas, if they have it." Philip turned his head to look at Arya, despite literally worshiping the Prince of Debauchery, he wanted to be respectful of the boundaries of a colleague and potential friend. I really have lapsed. Forgive me. "Warm milk and honey. I'm more of a mead man myself, but if you aren't looking to indulge, it's a good choice."

In mute curiosity, she listened in on the bards comments, and seemed no less surprised of her student's choice, even given current factors. However it was when she was included in the exchange did she wave both hands in shy protest "No no no no. Hot water is sufficient" She seemed to wince at the unsuspecting offer, and tried to flash a nervous smile to show that it was still appreciated

Sorondil - Intelligence Group (at Ygfa's)

Sorondil raised an eyebrow at the commotion, hoping it wasn't a sign of trouble. He gave Remus a glance, wondering if his companion was having similar thoughts.

"All right, then," he said with a shrug, moving forward. He approached the young women. "Good morning. Could you direct us to the Madame, please?"

It took a few moments for their presence to come to Lette's attention and she came around. "'Ehy, what can I get yous?" She sounded tired though her expression perked up when she noticed Phillip's presence. "Oh, Phillip, good to see you again. Still strumming around?".
Image
The voice of the girl who responded was harsh and gravelly as if she had spent a serious amount of time sitting in a smoking chimney.

"She'll be somewhere out back hon'." A devilish grin rose as she added. "But I don't mind a bit of experience neither."
Image
That answer didn't seem to comfort the girl at all. She took a step back, as if she was making a move for the door. However, before she could turn to grasp a hand around the handle it burst open and an older Imperial man came through. His frame heavy and jaw soft, had he been twenty years younger he might have been imposing. Baelfire caught the glare he seemed to pass to the girl, but spotting their presence he was quick to adopt a more welcoming expression.

"What can I do fer you gentleman?" he asked across the room.

"Daddy I thi-" The girl began but the man was quick to cut across. "I've had enough of you this morning, Sara. Go and set up some tables, we could do with the money."
Image
The pair soon reached a house close to the city's main gate. Nerissa led the way to the door and wrapped it with a hard knock off her knuckles.

"Remember: not a word." She had barely gotten the utterance out when the door opened and a short Elf - short even for a Bosmer - stood in their path. He broke into a broad grin as he spotted Nerissa. "Nessa! Well, I must say I hadn't expected to see you again. Come'n, come'n."

He paused as his gaze at the large Orc standing beside her. "Your friend, though. Hmmm... the Knight can come in too, I guess." His grin widened.

Arya - Hearthfelt Tavern

Her disheveled hair and inexperienced disposition in the setting, she was quick with a nervous bout with Lette's approach "H..Hot w..water please!" She almost seemed startled by the minor interaction, shuffling her hands in her feet, like an adolescent given their first ale. She fell back in a shy silence, subconscious of her own shortcoming.

Her innocent composure almost gave a sort of charm, if not made her seem younger to most

Vila - Intelligence Carousing Committee

"Two sujammas, for the rest of us, please," Vila followed up, smirking at the waitress in a strangely friendly and inclusive way, while gesturing between herself and the Redguard minstrel. It was meant to make the round seem familiar and jovial, underlined by her speaking for Phillip as if they were old friends.

Elona had been entirely quiet and surveyed the building looking at the rafters, nearby rooms, tables, and the people around her building her situational awareness. She kept one hand on the pommel of her sword and the other on her waist ready to conjure a companion if need be. Looking over at Larius discreetly she waited for him say something.

"Ahem, well," Laurius said, "I'd gladly partake in whatever fare you have available at the moment. But truth be told," he continued, lowering his voice, "What brings us here so early is... well, we're looking to be pointed in the right direction regarding something, and if you can help, we'll provide a bit of coin in exchange. Nothing that could get you in any trouble, of course, though I'd rather not go into specifics out here in the open."
Start the groove.
