Eolwyn - Lake
As the serpent finally slackened its coil, Eolwyn fell to the ground. She coughed wildly and gasped for air, sucking in the oxygen that she had been deprived of.
She felt herself being pulled to her feet, though by whom she did not know - her vision being blackened by the crush of the undead.
With weakened effort, she began to reach for her sword. Though momentarily down, she was not out, and would not let this creature harm her group further.
She blinked and squinted as she tried to focus on where attack was needed.

Dorian - Lake Illinalta
With the serpent occupied with Arellius and Nora rushing forward, Dorian sensed an opportune moment to strike. He did not worry himself about Eolwyn; he was confident that she wold recover, and the serpent demanded all of their attention.
Thus, Dorian leapt forward, his cloak flapping, and hoisted his longsword, the blade crackling with electricity, and brought it down upon the long neck of the beast in a vicious two-handed blow.

Niralie - Lake Illinalta
Niralie drew in a sharp breath when she saw Arellius hit. Though she had no fondness for (and admittedly feared) the man, she didn't want to see him die in front of her. She moved forward at Grelok's shout, intending to hit the serpent with another spell, but by then Nora had moved and Niralie hesistated, not wanting to cast a spell with Nora in the way. She came to a stop close to Arellius, ready to check on him as soon as they defeated the creature (as Grelok had also determined, it was too much of a threat for now to stop fighting), and, not wanting to accidentally hit one of her companions with a destruction spell, cast fortify strength spells on as many of her attacking companions as she had time for who were within range, being very careful not to target the serpent.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Lake Ilinalta
With their strength amplified by Niralie's fortification spells, Nora and Dorian struck the creature with their respective attacks.
Nora's blades struck true; too true, as they sunk into the creature's flesh and held fast. Instinctively the foul serpent reared its head, taking Nora up into the air with it, where she held on only by the hilts of her swords. Grelok, on the other hand, was thrown off into the snow, where he rolled a foot or two before coming to a halt.
With the creature's neck fully exposed, Dorian's hefty sword cleaved right through. The creature's head, with a few feet of neck and an unfortunate nord lass attached, fell to the ground. The creature's body continued to convulse for a moment before it began to crumble into dust, as all undead creatures tended to.
A large pile of dust and ash remained where the creature once presided. The lake was now clear for whatever spelunker might brave its depths.

Nora the Fox
Taken by shock over her sudden ascension, she gritted her teeth and held fast for dear life and determination. "Ye [&@%!].. Be still wh'y don't yee an'.." She yelled before being promptly interrupted by a sudden sinking feeling.
She landed along with the serpents head, hard and unruly to the ground. The hair nearly escaped her chest as the force washed over her. Struggling to her own feet, both blades still at hand, she stood with burdened shoulders and a hardy breath. Dirt, grim, gore, and ash, she still looked ready for another fight, her warrior's spirit unbroken.
Clutching both hilts, she swiped off the evidence of their battle and sheathed them both with swift conviction. Without further delay, and no further threat, she immediately started to search for Arelius, if he still lived

Niralie - Lake Illinalta
Niralie breathed a sigh of relief as the creature fell, but her posture remained tense until she saw Nora get safely to her feet.
She turned and crouched down by Arellius, who had not moved since he'd been struck. "Can you hear me?" she asked, beginning to check over him for any immediate signs of injury.

Arellius Afer III - Lake Illinalta
The tangle with the assassin had left him weaker than he'd thought and the Imperial had barely begun to make for the ground when the serpent had lunged. Greeted with an explosion of pain in his chest, the blades parted his grip. He would have wheezed, though there was no air to form such a sound. His collapse was soundless - and for a while: motionless. Pain - concentrated across his ribs - reached out to fill every square inch of his body.
He didn't try to move before any of the others found him. That would be sure to invite the beast's wrath. So he lay still, still until Niralie found him:
His chest expanded and contracted in short, controlled movements: an expression of intense pain was seared into his features, intensifying with each contraction. The blood had begun to form a thick, warm coat at the back of his throat and it rose to gurgle from the man's bearded maw as he parted his lips: an incomprehensible cacophony of coughs and splutters was all that he managed to release at first. It collected around his mouth but seemed to create way for a more successful second effort:
"Yhhhgghee'lf?" There was a pause - another cough; more was blood expelled. "[&@%!]."

Eolwyn - Lake Illinalta
Before she had chance to attempt to inflict more damage on the serpent, their fight was at last over.
Eolwyn felt a stern satisfaction as the beast's head was separated from its runed body.
"Dead. And stay that way." She said with anger to the pile of dust lying still before them.
The Bosmer looked around her. She knew Arellius had been hurt and so followed behind Niralie to check on the Imperial.

So he's conscious at least, Niralie thought. That was a good sign, but the blood was not. "Can you feel anything? Where does it hurt worst?"

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Arellius Afer III - Lake Illinalta
The Elf sat at the centre of his vision; recognisable despite the modest blurring. A dizziness was emerging but as his lips formed a set of words in response, he realised that the blood seemed to have left his throat. Least he only felt the taste of it: his airways no longer slick with the foul liquid.
"There's..." He grunted: a grimace passed across his features as the pain seemed to momentarily swell. Whatever he seemed to have considered saying a moment ago was reimagined as he began again: "Chest; rib's broken". There was a pause and then the Imperial's face suddenly darkened with concentration, eyebrows furrowing, lips closing together in a firm purse. With slow, deliberate movements, his arms began to make the ill-advised journey into a position to support his body as he attempted to lift himself up onto them and into a position where his back was raised off the ground - and he might later manoeuvre towards sitting upwards.
It worked, though the added pain expressed in his expression was clear. "Bu'I'll fine: I'm fine."

Eolwyn - Lake
Eolwyn looked down at Arellius as he began to try to move, blood clearly visible from his mouth.
"Lying about, eh?" She said jokingly in way of comfort, but her eyes showed concern.
"I wouldn't get up just yet. Let Niralie do her magic. You'll be right as rain in no time."
"Anything I can do?" She asked Niralie.

Niralie - Lake Illinalta
"You're fine when I say you are," Niralie retorted, reaching out toward him. She hesitated a moment, nervous about how he'd respond, and then put a hand firmly on his shoulder to stop him from getting up. At least he was well enough to try it, but she wasn't willing to potentially let him hurt himself worse before she'd gotten a chance to check his injuries, and it was best for the whole group if they all were in top shape. "Please, just relax until I've looked at it," she added.
She glanced up at Eolwyn. "Not at the moment, but stay on hand just in case."

Nora
Nora watched wayward as others tended to Arellius. The fact that he still breathed, if barely, was enough for her. Still at stand, she turned her gaze towards shore, then back to land. In a firm dedication, she heavily paced towards the snow bound orc.
She didn't waste giving word or warning, the moment she neared close, whether on knee or back, she was to drag him by his collar and to his feet. All with far less care or sense of urgency as with Elowyn
The fight with the serpent has left her more than [&@%!] or riled

Katlina
Katlina was observing the beast as the others focused on it to determine what was the best course of action to follow her fireball bolt combo. Before she could decide what spell to cast next, it was dead. "Not like we have a healer." She uttered after overhearing Eolwyn mentioning Niralie's magic. "Right, abomination is dead. Time to get this blasted thread." She removed her robe and casted a detect life spell at the water to see if anything else was in there that shouldn't be. She figured that if Niralie was this 'great healer' she could handle it by herself. Sure, it was petty but the elf started it! Taking offense because she didn't trust her to heal the Jarl during the battle of Windhelm. Just because she didn't give a skeever's ass about manners when in the middle of a battle didn't mean she was not to be trusted as a healer.

Eolwyn - Lake
Eolwyn nodded to Niralie. "Will do."
She stepped a metre to the side and scanned the surrounding area for all her comrades.
"Is everyone alright? Anyone need help?"
She could see that everyone was at least upright, even Grelok now that Nora was giving him a hand.

Arellius Afer III - Lake Illinalta
For the barest moment, the Imperial seemed to bristle at the command: features hardening and sternness threatening. However, it had only begun to manifest itself before he seemed to have thought better for it. He relaxed - or at least relaxed as much as he could under the circumstances. The greatest indication of his capitulation to Niralie’s care was in the grin he shot Eolwyn in response to her quip,
“Figure’d yis had’t handl’d.” It parted his lips with a dry, gravelly laugh, one that cleared with a wince as the pain reached a new height in its intensity across his chest. The grin faded as he then addressed Niralie, “Ye’ll find some potion in’me bag ‘case y’don’t want t’waste yer’magic”.

Niralie - Lake Illinalta
Niralie tensed slightly at what initially seemed to be a negative response, and then relaxed herself when he acquiesced to her command. "I'll be fine, but thanks for offering," she replied, a bit surprised that he'd made the offer. She examined him carefully, looking for the broken rib and anything else that might have been hurt. Once she was satisfied that she had found the extent of his wounds, she began her healing.

Eolwyn grinned at Arellius as he replied to, and attempted to laugh at, her remark. It was a good sign, as was his consideration of Niralie conserving her magic. She figured that if he was in really bad shape then he wouldn't be able to even suggest nor care about an alternative.

She wasn't even looking at him, the side of her face was masked by a mess of hair. She hardly even registered Grelok's thanks, but her grip tightened once she realized she still held upon him
"I told ye.. To sta'y safe.." Her chin dipped down for a moment, a touch of somberness touched her voice. All before resuming her harsher tone and snatching him up by the collar with her other hand "...N't te bloody tackle the damn beast!" She nearly readied to lift him from the ground, before unclasping her hold.
Her hands were shaking with rage over things that could of been

"Kaoc," Sees-In-Shade muttered as it became clear Nammu had no intention of speaking plainly. Fed up with the old cat, he turned away and, oblivious to Nammu's treatment of the apparent corpse on the table, began searching back the way they came for another path which could take them around the magical barrier.

Grelok - Lake Illinalta
Grelok's gaze continued to shift back and forth between Nora's face and her hands, until she let go. Entirely uncertain as to the reason behind her outburst, he slowly stammered a reply, stepping carefully. "...Well, uh..."
He wiped a bit of sweat and dirt off the side of his face, before a thought occurred to him. "Hey, uh, one of us should probably head down to the lake bottom, now! Don't know if the Thread is locked up tight or not, so I can go. Could handle any locks." The Orc began to pace back down towards the water.
"Not like I can heal anyone, anyway." Grelok muttered under his breath, as he looked back at his injured companions. He wanted to help them, but knew he'd only be getting in the way.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Not even a moment of chance, she struck at Grelok with both hands with every intent to push him down. "Like damn y'u will!!" She yelled, no, screamed at the thief. She raised a fist, shaking with a royal rage unseen for a hot headed Skaal "I haven't forgotten yer earlier stunt!"
This time, she raised her tone to address everyone "N' don't ye think I'll let any other dive first! Not over me'h dead corpse! If ye go't a problem with that! The'n speak up, an' I'l break both yer shins!!" Clearly, even before she yelled at Katlina not so long ago, she had every intention to do the dive herself

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Pushed to the ground, Grelok flopped onto the muddy shore. Looking up at Nora, then look towards the water, Grelok crawled forward, and rolled into the water.
With an awkward flailing of his arms and legs, he was descending beneath the lake once more.
