I was offered a job by Delvin in the Thieves Guild involving purloining goods etc to the value of 500 gold pieces in Raven Rock.
Raven Rock is in Solsteim, an area not visited as yet due to being well occupied in Skyrim still and for the foreseeable future.
I went anyway. Got the boat from Windhelm, (Northern Maiden) and landed in Raven Rock. After a load of conversations, which obviously kick off quests related to the area, I waited till dark and set off on the nick.
I accumulated more than 500 GP in a very short time, a lot of it new stuff not seen in Skyrim, but the prompt telling me I had collected enough never came.
Looking through the extensive game guide, (page 307), these additional jobs are numbered in groups of five for Markarth, Solitude, Whiterun and Windhelm. Riften is also listed, I don't understand why as it doesn't have any available quests, although jobs are thrown at you, they don't qualify.
There absolutely no mention of Solsteim.
I decided to quit the job thinking it was probably a bit of a glitch.
Was I right in doing this?
Also, I have the The Dainty Sload quest in my inventory. Now I very recently cleared this location looking for the Unique Gem, included in the 24 which have to be found as a prerequisite of the No Stone Unturned quest.
Will I have to wait for this area to respawn before I can complete this quest? How long?
Also, just up the coast is Broken Oar Grotto. Again I got involved in a secodary quest where I ended up clearing this very extensive cave system. A day later I am presented with Lights Out! where I am expected to go in search and kill Jaree-Re. Of course I can't do this currently because it is still showing on the map as cleared, preventing a map maker appearing.
How long are you usually expected to wait for an area to respawn?

Re: A job in Raven Rock from Delvin
Different areas have different respawn times. The Wiki shows the times listed on the location pages.
The Dainty Sload respawn time is either 10 or 30 days.
Broken Oar Grotto is listed as never respawning, so I'm not sure how that will affect your quest. If you killed Jaree-Ra in the first visit, maybe revisiting the place where you killed him may issue some kind of notice.

Re: A job in Raven Rock from Delvin
The quest I was sent on to Broken Oar Grotto was a "Kill the bandit leader" mission given out by a Jarl or Steward.
It seems that these mission clashes have been considered when witing the game program and they seem to occur quite frequently.
Trouble is you only find out about and gain knowledge in hindsight. You can't look up every single location and commit to a quest before you enter into it, it would take forever.

I DO lookup for any location i come to before entering it to avoid bugs and/or bad stuff like one way quest areas or pre/on/post quest locked areas or non respawning pre-egsistent killable hostile quest related npc or simply don't miss good stuff.Frodo-Baginses wrote: You can't look up every single location and commit to a quest before you enter into it, it would take forever.
I also do same thing in Morrowind for same reasons. And i am on >90% completion of all quests in it
