For those playing as Argonians, how often do you get clipping when wearing helmets? Mainly the Stalhrim light helmet as mentioned here: http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?f= ... start=1775

Unfortunately clipping is inevitable if you've got horns growing out of the back of your character's head, but I get around this problem by primarily playing my Argonians with soft floppy ears (as in Daggerfall or Morrowind) or feathers which can be flattened (as in Skyrim) so it's usually not that much of an eyesore in my case.
wiggly wiggly ears. flop flop flop flop.

Well, the eyebrow ridges are at the front of the head, right? IIRC, those are optional. One could just not have eyebrow ridges and just get "decoration" for the back (which should be covered by helmets, anyway).

Race matters way less in Skyrim than it did in previous games, so really just play as whatever you want because it doesn't impact your character that dramatically. I haven't played Skyrim in ages (I really need to replay the series, especially now that I can do it on PC) but I like Bretons. Their appearance as a race is fine and they make for good sneaky spellswords which is my preferred style of play.

I disagree, actually. For example, the Argonians are super overpowered. Hist Skin completely breaks combat on the default difficulty setting. It basically makes you indestructible against anything but dragons, giants, and spellcasters. As if the ability to breathe underwater with no consequence wasn't bad enough.

How bad is the clipping with the Archmage Robes (hooded version, obviously), when compared to Stalhrim light armor, when equipped on Argonians, if any?

Argonians look really good in hoods, though naturally if they have any form of horns, those won't show no matter your head gear (circlets being the exception of course.) That's generally why I settle with the feathers, at least those not showing make some sense.

I'm new to Skyrim (Special Edition is my first ES game), and thus far have only played as a Breton (mage) and an Imperial (sword-and-board). I've really enjoyed both so far; might try a Khajiit next.

Khajiit is a really fun choice, especially with their innate night eye. Makes playing a thief character so much easier.
