I have little confidence they'll hold to that lesson and they'll get lost in their developments of 'new technology' in the gaming world. They're going to focus on the pretty stuff and interactive roleplaying and rely too heavily on beats derived from old lore to come up with a compelling, well-crafted story.
I fear the reason they're taking so long for number 6 is not because they're polishing it to perfection. They're putting it on the back burner because they have no real idea where to go next and are hoping the next two or three new titles will spark inspiration or gauge fan reaction.

Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

The second Alduin fight was easier than the first because it was basically 4 on 1. Depending on your gear during the first fight, it may have been challenging.

Agreed. That first fight was a pain because I was only maybe level 8 or so? I died about 3 or 4 times.MidbossVyers wrote:The second Alduin fight was easier than the first because it was basically 4 on 1. Depending on your gear during the first fight, it may have been challenging.

Agreed... I'm guessing the next Elder Scrolls game will be more akin to a Far Cry 3/4 style of open world game play, that is to say; further simplification of number crunching aspects, extremely limited dialogues trees (I wouldn't be surprised if we no longer have the ability to RP at all and simply get a simple "yes/no" option for accepting quests). I also wouldn't be surprised to see the removal of numbered skills entirely and simply be replaced with three skills trees for combat, magic, and stealth (ugh). Especially with the recent success of open world games like Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn, I really think Beth is going to be trying to emulate these.Dark Spark wrote:I have little confidence they'll hold to that lesson and they'll get lost in their developments of 'new technology' in the gaming world. I don't like any of these ideas but I am interested to see what Bethesda does with a new IP. I prefer my TES and Fallout games to be crunchier but a streamlined system in a new IP might be more palatable to my taste.
Fool! All we do in hell is play DDR!
