Dorian - Lake Illinalta
Dorian, anticipating a challenging battle, drew his silver longsword. The heft of the blade and the soft crackling of its electric charge was all the comfort he required, but he sensed some of his companions were less confident.
He reached out to the newcomer, Dulani, laying his left hand upon her shoulder, "Shouldn't be too bad. We're just going spearfishing." As he spoke, he subtly discharged a burst of charm magic, attempting to soothe whatever misgivings she had.

Dulani - Lake
Dulani felt her racing heart slow down at her comrade's touch. She turned to give him a smile. "Oh, it shouldn't be bad at all. These beasts of the sea are really very easy to fight, once you've done it once or twice." Turning her gaze towards the water, she spoke again, more slowly. "I apologize for my nerves. I just..." She let out a short laugh. "No, it's nothing. You don't need to worry about me."
Feeling more at ease than before, she pulled out her wakizashis. "Let's get this fight over and done with, shall we?"

Lake Ilinalta
Ra'zhar sneered. "This one can certainly recall the beast, but will this be done only for the group to argue for days while our enemy gathers up our quarry like a village girl might pick blueberries in the summer?"

Niralie - Lake Illinalta
Niralie already wasn't thinking too highly of the Khajiit thanks to his hasty action, and his response didn't help at all either.
"I'm sorry if you don't like me disagreeing with ideas that could potentially get us killed," she said huffily. "But what we need is a good plan: a backup course of action in case our uncertain ice idea fails. Not to enrage the beast before we have equipped ourselves or decided what to do."

Eolwyn - Lake
"I think further planning would be advisable." Eolwyn said to Ra'zhar, in agreement with Niralie.
"Is your summon able to attempt a collection by itself?" She repeated her earlier enquiry.
"Perhaps this retrieval mission can be easier than we anticipate."

Ra'zhar sighed in exasperation and snapped his fingers. Shortly after, ethereal smoke rose up from the water, indicating the Familiar's disposal.
"It must be one of us." he explained to Eolwyn. "It sounds like the thread is locked in a chest, and most summon creatures do not possess opposable thumbs. This one could summon a dremora perhaps, but they are not known for their willingness to obey every command."

Eolwyn smirked at Ra'zhar's joke.
"We could bring up the whole chest: bypass messing around with the key and lock underwater if that is too specific a command for your summon."

Niralie - Lake Illinalta
"Would it be able to bring a chest - and the key - up, though?" Niralie asked. "It seems like it would be too difficult for it to carry it. No, I think we'll probably have to swim. I suppose if there's a boat somewhere around I could try to bring them up with Telekinesis - I am wearing the Thread after all - but I'd rather not do it while swimming, and I'm not confident that I could maintain a water-walking spell and Telekinesis at once." She looked around to see if there was any boat in the near vicinity; she hadn't paid much attention to the lakeshore.

Arellius Afer III - Lake Illinalta
Arellius sheated his blades as the follower was recalled. The intensity of his gaze relaxed as he caught the exchange between the Breton and Dulani; an illusion mage was certainly an interesting addition, he registered, before returning to the broader discussion.
Realizing the discussion had turned to retrieving the chest, he didn't open his mouth to enter the discussion. His greater concern was killing the beast - retrieving the thread would come easily after that, he was sure.

Katlina
"Because there is no way that a nord can be an enchanter and conductive was the wrong word. I meant use lightning on teh water. It spreads over an area and will cause it a lot of pain and I am more then aware of how lightning magic works or should I bow before the mighty Altmer and beg her to enlighten me because I am a dumb nord who plays with magic?" Katlina spat in the ground and stormed off to think.
She returned a minute later and caught the rest of the conversation. "Oh, it's a we, now? Since when did you decide to act as leader?" She snarked and was in a bit of a foul mood. "Or, or, maybe, I don't know, we smash the chest, grab the damn thread, give it to Sanguine and whilst we're at it, give him our souls and offer him all of Skyrim for the taking." She remarked. "Should have went back to solititude." She muttered under her breath.

Dulani - Lake
When she saw the smoke rise from the water, Dulani relaxed her stance and flipped a stray piece of hair out of her face. She paused to hear what the group was saying, but the bickering was getting on her nerves.
"Look here, Nord. Aren't you magic-folk supposed to stick together or something? And even if you aren't, you two are both parts of this party. Last time I checked, everyone in a party was supposed to work together. Now, as you obviously hate each other, I can see how that could be kind of hard. But can't you just pretend for a bit, for the sake of the group? We came here to retrieve a thread, and that would be a whole lot easier if you two didn't keep creating little debate sessions every 5 minutes. If you actually have something useful to say, say it. If not, could you please just shut up and let us get through this? Save the arguments for later, when we aren't forced to be your audience.

Niralie scanned the lakeshore. In the distant fog, hardly visible, was a small boat that seemed large enough to accommodate a handful of occupants. The state of repair of the boat was unclear from such a distance.

The Cave
Sees-In-Shade watched Khazi find the blade and hand it to Nammu, and watching others trade his sword while he laid disarmed made the Argonian's instincts rebel with anxiety. Snapping out of his fugue state, he gingerly stood and whipped his tail experimentally. "'Chaurusss'? What?"
As he approached them, he gestured back at chaos, but found himself at a loss for words. Finally, he narrowed down on one question. "What the kaoc are you doing now?"

Nammu
The priest never paused in his action, hardly even looking up to see the Saxhleel finally gaining voice. No, the only proof of his acknowledgement was a slight rise in his brow and the words he readied to say from tired lips
"Undoing further risk.. Or would you be more content if this one was less concerned for others, yes? To leave a most vile essence, unchecked? Nammu is not as careless as one may think.."
He stopped for a moment, shrugging his shoulders in a disinterested manner "Or maybe I am, who will know?" Before resuming his tending to the tainted blade.

The Cave
The haggard Sees-In-Shade, still reeling from his near death followed by the extraordinary anguish of Nammu's "concern", found himself becoming frustrated by the Khajiit's double-talk. "Where is your concern for othersss when there'sss a puzzle to sssolve?"
The Argonian didn't wait for an answer. He felt naked without a blade in this cavernous ruin. Favoring his newly-scabbed mid-section, he began surveying the torture chamber and the carnage behind them for a temporary replacement. Or perhaps a permanent one, quality permitting. He wasn't particularly fond of the tainted shortsword in Nammu's hand. Maybe one of the bodyguards no longer needed theirs...

Nammu
Again, so little of a response wavered on that ever desolate face, the priest seemed so unmoved by the Saxhleel's frustration.
And yet, after a time, he spoke "Where?" For just a moment, he looked up from upon his stilled hands before resuming his sight to the blade "This one say's that as if Nammu cared little for the Baronet's men?"
"It is true, I do"
He spoke with such ease and contempt, as if the very words he uttered carried so little worth. It is not unlike the priest to tell a lie, or speak so openly

The Dwemer Arena
Nammu's touch sharpened the dull blade and his spell cleaned the blood off of it, but try as he might, he could not remove the black stain which had soaked into the steel. It appeared that the blade had been impregnated with chaurus venom, though what effect this would produce, if any, was unknown.
Sees-in-Shade uncovered a few Falmer blades and axes, but they were of crude work, hardly comparable to steel worked by the hands of men. The fallen bodyguards' longswords were hardly superior: made of simple iron or tarnished steel. However, just as his search seemed fruitless, he spotted a fine steel greatsword lying upon the altar where the mysterious gemstone was enshrined. Though it was perhaps a larger weapon than he was used to, Flacus' weapon was clearly a work of master craftsmanship.

The priest inspected the blade one last time, it weighed heavy in his hands. Even without fully purifying the blade, he seemed content, like the chaurus venom seemed inconsequential.
He tapped the end of the metal blade on the stone tiles, dusting off any remaining ice crystals left. All before promptly tossing the blade lazily on the floor, incidentally towards Khazi and Sees-In-Shade
Without further prompt, he ebbed away in a slow walk, this time bearing closer to the stone table and it's sole survival. Yet, he seemed waiting for further words or question

He could not share in the Saxhleel's concern, briefly adding "The Falmer are little more than pests in an unwelcoming domain.." Stretching out a sole hand, slowly he flexed each of his claws again and again "One would be more concerned over the sentries, yes?"
In a low murmur, but carried far by the silent air "Ah.. But that wouldn't be so bad?.."
"Would it?"

Niralie - Lake Illinalta
Niralie couldn't help but give a small, satisfied smirk at Katlina's response and Dulani's subsequent reaction. She said nothing; Katlina was doing plenty on her own to prove Niralie's point.
She stared out at the boat, a variety of ideas flashing through her mind and an equal number of responses as to why said ideas wouldn't work, and whether it was worth taking the time to go all the way over to the boat. She considered for a moment, and then shook her head. "Hmm.... it's too far to be useful," she said, half to herself.
She turned toward Grelok when he addressed her, and retrieved the rings from her bag. "They're not resist-cold rings; they're waterbreathing rings," she explained as she brought them. "Resist Cold will need to be a spell - if each of you wants to come get the rings individually, I can apply the spell when you do so. As I said, we are a few rings short - though Zudeel does not need one and Dulani has volunteered to remain on shore - so there will be two others yet who will need to do so as well." She poured the rings out of their pouch into a pile in her left hand and held it out. She looked around the group, ready to apply the spell to any who came for the rings. "Does anyone have any ideas what to do if the ice plan doesn't work?"

Grelok - Lake Illinalta
"Thanks." Grelok slipped the ring onto his finger, and strode over to Ra'zhar. He spoke quietly to the Khajiit--whatever he said made Ra'zhar grin. The Orc removed his travelling cloak, sword, and steel dagger (keeping the flame enchanted dagger on his belt), and brought them to his horse, tied up a safe distance away.
Returning to the shore, Ra'zhar nodded to Grelok, and waved both his hands. From his right palm, a quiet, yet bright blue pulse of magicka enveloped Grelok. From his left, the black-blue burst of energy which summoned the familiar once again.
"Some fishing trip this is!" Grelok yelled, as he and the seal both dove into the lake, and began to swim down towards the bottom.
Though none would see it, Grelok winced in pain; despite the resist cold spell, the shock of the cold water sent pain shooting up his mechanical arm.

Katlina
Katlina flipped off the elf after seeing her smirk. "I will assist with getting there unless it's suddenly deemed that I am not to do anything and just stand here looking pretty." She told everyone and approached Niralie. "Just give me the damn ring so we can get this over with."
