What Legion was in Skyrim?

Post by Elegost »

I have been browsing around the web but cannot find a clear cut answer. What Legion(s) was in Skyrim during the Civil war? Is it known, or is this part of Lore that we must make up.

My Thanks

The Imperial Legion? From Cyrodiil, the setting of TES IV: Oblivion?

I think what Elegost is asking is which division of the Imperial Legion, since it can't have been all of standing force of the Empire.

I am indeed referring to the division , as in the 1st Legion or 5th Legion.

Thanks

General Tullius was deployed to Skyrim as a result of the Stormcloak uprising, so it's likely he brought his legion in to supplement the standing force, absorbing it in the process (Rikke being the commander of that part).
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Than for the reply's. The reason for asking is I wished to make a legion banner - like each Legion had in Rome with the number upon it. I guess it shall have to be up to my imagination.

I think most of the Skyrim Legion wasn't destroyed in the Great War and a majority of it is what is left of it. Assuming that a fair amount of Stormcloaks are former legionaires, I could see Tullius bringing a small percantage of the Cyrodiil legion to back up the depleted Skyrim portion. I think, because Nords are mostly warriors, they often had no issues with recruiting until the entire White Gold Treaty.

But I could also see half or most of the Skyrim legion being destroyed in the war. Titus Mede II fled to Skryim and I could see it being the largest of the three legions(HighRock,Cyrodiil and Skyrim) due to the nordic culture and being a warrior is a very common occupation up there. Either way, Tullius is most likely have taken his portion of the legion with him. At least, a couple hundred due to it being a pressing matter and losing Skyrim is something the empire literally can't afford. Cyrodiil is having a very hard time recruiting as I can see the Thalmor interferring, reporting on numbers etc.. High Rock, I can see being engaged in a ton of politics and not wanting to divert resources. Skyrim, it can provide arms, armour and soldiers.
