Well, um, in this case when the bandages were removed there were um....well I suppose 'fly babies' is the nice way to put it. Didn't know that was possible.
That's good though. Keeps the wound from getting infected.

Could be worse. It could NOT have been maggots >_> and if your asking how is that worse? Clearly you haven't seen what a wiggling sack of nightmares can do..

And that's just talking about the parasitic larvae...

One of many things I like about living in New England is that venomous and parasitic life forms are relatively rare when compared to lusher greener places like the rain forest, or where my grandparents live out west where you have to be careful about ticking off a rattle snake. This place has lovely scenery, crystal-clear ocean beaches, and an insect that lays eggs in your skin that hatch into larvae which grow to the size of tumors and necrotize the flesh around them before consuming you alive! Uh-uh. Noping right the hell out of there. I don't care if it's a great vacation spot, we are not going.

What I'm trying to say is I really enjoy living as far away as I can possibly get from bot flies. Also soldier ants.

In England(Classic/Refined/Original/1.0/Alpha), we have parasitical life forms. They are politicians.

Not to rain on your parade.. But exotic and rare parasitic exposure should be the least of your worries.
:
I mean sure, maybe if somebody returning from out of country could potentially bring back a nasty bug(literally). I'm also gonna include certain fungal and microbial infection, since those are just as bad and likely..

Still tho, the real threat there comes less from it's actual harm, but the lack in modern treatment given their rarity.. For many of said tropical diseases.

The real scare can be the more common ones, especially those that can mask their presence long till it's too late. Case in point, the common tapeworm. Even in the modern world, or high up in the frigid cold >_> tainted meat improperly cooked.. Something in the soil.. Doesn't matter

Fact being, your infected, and without a doubt it will do it's best to make home in your intestines. It will grow, slowly stealing away your nutrients and eventually effect your health. Early blood test may raise suspicions? Sudden drop in B12? Maybe medical treatment is all that is needed? That's the common result.. Ever asked what happens if you do nothing? Well, I can tell you this much.. Losing a few more pounds and feeling ill is the least of concerns

That tapeworm isn't just going to keep growing. No no. It will mature, and it will start to lay nee eggs. Problem is? When they hatch their not all gonna stay in your intestines, much too cramp now. So.. They will slowly burrow thru, eat their way to other organs and bodily systems, latching on to their new homes, and eventually trigger complete organ shutdown <_<

So ya, maybe maggots are ready to burst out of your arm or a worm has decided your sinuses make for a pretty comfy place. But hey, at least you don't have massive worms digging through your body and wrecking absolute havoc on every vital organ possible. Again, admittedly rare by this stage, most folk would have been treated, but hey, bless modern medicine you don't have to deal with those little monsters.. Probably.. Maybe.. They are common tho..

Still don't compare to tropical fire ants, [&@%!].. Those [&@%!] feast on nightmares.. I'd rather take a sting from a bullet ant or offer my finger to a leaf cutter ant..

You don't have to worry about larvae burrowing through your muscles as long as you're the primary host. Eating meat infected with tapeworm cysts results in you becoming a host for adult worms. Eating something infected with tapeworm eggs (contaminated with animal poop) will make you a host for tapeworm larvae.

Remember, kids: don't eat poop.

That explains why Canada had a public PSA about not putting stuff in their mouths. Ah bugger, I've got the damn meleody stuck in my head now.

I'm not kidding, Cananda had an advert about not putting stuff in their mouths. I only know this thanks to Nostalgia Critic's adverts reviews.

Yeah, and that's why I don't trust other people to cook food for me. We've had more than one e coli scare where I live (blown massively out of proportion by the media, but still pretty serious) and I've worked in the food business long enough to see... things. Horrible, horrible things.

Over here, we pride ourselves on having a billion rules and forms to fill out. In fact, I had to take an entire hour to fill out the risk assessment of the form of quality assurance on the risk assessement of the form to make a post. We're pretty much like Imperials but a million times more obessessed with forms.

I know but I can see some places having some workers who do not care because of crappy pay. The worst i've had was a dodgy takeaway last year that caused me to play the game of thrones and I tend to have an iron stomach.

You see Mars, that's the biggest problem I've learned in the medical field, common sense isn't all as common as we would like.

And some folk are just so brain dead you wonder how the hell they even function..

Alright, so breaking that up, I'd like to share a somewhat funny story. Some time ago someone asked me why I enjoy playing old video games, and it's a question I've been pondering ever since, but I finally came up with an answer.

You see I've been playing a game called ADOM (Advanced Domains Of Mystery). If you've never heard of it, give it a go. It's a good game. It's currently on a shareware model where the game is basically free but you can unlock stuff by buying it on Steam. If you like Roguelikes you'll like ADOM.

Anyway, ADOM is an old dungeon crawler (significantly older than me, in fact) and I decided to start off my adventures with a Dwarven Duelist. Why the hell not? Dwarves are boss and swashbucklers are awesome. So I roll up my character and make a beeline for the easiest dungeon in the game ready to kick ass and chew slime molds. I manage to kill a hobgoblin before I encounter a locked door. No problem; this game is a Roguelike. Everyone knows you encounter a locked door in a Roguelike, you kick it down. So I kick the door and manage to bust it open on my first try because dwarves are [&@%!] boss. I also successfully activate the trap. The door falls straight on my character's head, killing him instantly. I was one minute and thirty-four seconds into the game. Noble warrior of prophecy, destined to smite evil with nought but a sword and a smile on his face and he goes down to an entryway.

So to answer the question: I play old video games because they're [&@%!] funny.

Are you studying anything specific about business law or just the field in general? Work-related or just recreational? Got any interesting tidbits to share? :D

I'm majoring in Accounting, so it is mostly related to that field.

If there is anything to glean from it so far, in a nutshell, it would be the saying, 'Get it in writing.' You can bypass a lot of legal woes if you get everything in writing. Keep your nose and clean and keep good records and you shouldn't ever be too knee deep in [&@%!].

I am feeling so tired, dumb, and unmotivated at the moment. I mean that is usually the case for me all the time, but it's quite noticeable to me now. If only there was a way to grow back any lost brain cells on mine....... that would be great to fight my rampant stupidity.
