Re: Favorite race to play as?
My favorite race in Skyrim are the argonians ( or saxhlells).
Why?
Because I think that the face of them are the more dragon like in the game.
And I tought that would make more sense to play the Dovahkin as an Argonian.
Also I like their tails and the fact that they can breath underwater.

Re: Favorite race to play as?
Bosmer - suits the kind of character I like to play as.
When the game first came out I tried playing as a Breton, but I made so many newbie mistakes that I got fed up and deleted it - Back when level 80 was the top level. I have played as a Breton, Argonian and Bosmer. The Argonian is my most complete/levelled character, a bit overpowered though (well, a lot).

Re: Favorite race to play as?
I've only played Imperials, Bretons, Nords and Altmer in TES games. In Skyrim, my order of preference is:
1. Nord
2. Breton
3. Altmer
4. Imperial
Bretons are my overall favourite in TES III and IV due to their magic resistance, but in Skyrim Nords take the favourite place as they're the natives of the province and so feel the most fitting.
That list actually made me think why I've never played the other races. In Daggerfall and Morrowind the reason is that the character faces for all races except those mentioned didn't really appeal to me (except Dunmer ladies in Daggerfall), and in Oblivion most of the NPC Bosmer were so awfully annoying it put me off playing as one. None of these really apply in Skyrim, so habit must be the only explanation I haven't considered the other races. Plus, for the beast races that they are just too exotic. Even elves are sufficiently human-like not to feel weird, but Khajiiti and Argonians would feel "off" to play for me. Hmm, maybe I should try e.g. a Dunmer for my next character just to broaden my horizons.

Hmm... tough question.
I like playing as nords and wood elves. I am an archer by choice, but I like the close combat option with the nords.

I like all the races!
That being said, I think I like Dunmer and Argonians the best, with Nords being a close second. But I try to play all the races in each TES game, if I can. Of course in Redguard you really couldn't, but that is an outlier in the series.

I currently have a Breton, Khajiit, Imperial, Nord, and Bosmer. I pretty much like all races except Orcs and Redguards. Just because of my experiences with one crazily annoying Orc in Oblivion and just the rudeness of Redguards. I would rank them but that'd be too much work.

Re: Favorite race to play as?
The ones I NEVER play as in Skyrim are Imperial, Bosmer, Nord, and Dunmer. All have negatable abilities and npc Nord dialog annoys me in game to the point I can't stand them.
I like the other races (have yet to play khajiit or orc), but I've had a lot of fun with Altmer and Argonian (image how excited I got when I read about Argonia!). Altmer have a bonus 50 magic, high born ability, and fastest walk speed. Argonians have water breathing (without having to tote something enchanted with it), bonus unarmed damage, histskin, resist disease, and interesting insults. I'm currently +200 in an evil Argonian build and loving it! ^_^

Re: Favorite race to play as?
My favourite race has always been Nord, going back to when I first jumped into the series with Oblivion. Back then, they were just the bigger, stronger (albeit "dumber") versions of the Imperials; plus, back then, their lore was much more Viking/Germanic-like. Skyrim was actually almost a let-down after having their lore (IMO) muddied a bit with dragons.
That said, my first race was actually Khajiit (in Oblivion), so they also hold a special place for me.

Re: Favorite race to play as?
Nord... best looking chicks in the game
I do wish the elves were as fair of face as their lotro cousins. Female elves in Skyrim look manly, man. It took me a very long time to smooth out the features of my Altmer to make her look feminine. Must have worked, a serving wench in Falkreath told her she would have the men wrapped around her little finger in no time *shrugs*

Definitely Bosmer. I have a love for archery, and I was able to get to the point of one shot kills for dragons. SO yeah, they're epic.

Khajiit all the way! In every Elder Scroll game I play em mostly. Well...Argonians too sometimes.
I just love playing fast, sneaky and agile characters. Khajiits suit me perfectly ^ ^

I have to start Skyrim yet, but have a strong preference for either an Orc male or a Khajit female. Followed by a Dunmer male or Nord male.

Nord it is (as always).
Next would be Imperial/Dunmer/Redguard.

Redguard, and I play as a mage because I can and to spite min-maxers, not that video games will ever break from that relic.

Re: Favorite race to play as?
I almost always play Altmer or Breton; I tend to gravitate most towards Mage-type classes and these seem to suit it best, at least lore-wise.
Never ever played an Argonian, Imperial, Nord (not even in Skyrim), Redguard or Khajiit.

I tend to favor melee characters, specifically 2 handed and sword and board warriors therefore I tend to favor the Nords, Orcs, and Imperials. Every once in a while I will go with a bosmer if I feel like making an archer.

I play as a Dunmer because of the bonuses. But I use set race to change my face to make it look more beautiful and human like.

Re: Favorite race to play as?
I always play as an Argonian. This is partly to dumpstat (personality is generally not a focus for me in single-player games) but also because I sympathize greatly with the personality bestowed upon Argonians by the dev team. They don't outwardly express emotions in the same way other people do, are readily misunderstood, tend to keep to their own, and treasure those they call friends. Despite this, they have an appreciation for fine art, craftsmanship, and clever things, and are seen in unusual social circles with those outside their "in" group in pursuit of these things.

I mostly play as either Altmer or Breton. I tend to avoid races like Dunmer, Argonian, Redguard, Orc, and play the other remaining ones once in a blue moon.

Re: Favorite race to play as?
I personally love the vikings and Romans when I'm studying history, so I tend to play as one of them while incorporating real-life aspects of their life into the game to supplement the story I tell in my head and how I play them.
This love for Viking-sounding names and stuff is how I ended up with my name "Eric Snowmane" online being based off a barbarian Nord-knight thing from Morrowind.
Lately, I've been playing charismatic sword-and-shield Roman warriors.

Re: Favorite race to play as?
Dunmer. From Arena to Skyrim, the first character is always a Dark Elf. Something about a figure clad in Daedric Armor, dual welding Dawnbreakers (or a spear, depending on the game), with red eyes and wrapped in flames (again, depending on the game) is just so beautiful.
However, following that, is Breton, Imperial, then Bosmer. I do have a Nord character that I only play while drinking mead, however. I get very into character.

It usually involves me sitting with my halberd while looking for Elf NPCs and hitting them with ancient nord weapons.
