Re: General Discussion
I don't know well but from what I've seen in film industry about Indians in England, I can say that some of them are a bit racist.

That's more Hollywood then the small uk industry. They merely use us as a setting. We merely produced Harry Potter, allowed Star Wars to be filmed and created Dr Who.

Same on this side of the world. Today though I am reading the Upanishads and by The Absolute they're too scientific. Hinduism I believe is the best religion in the entire world. The SheoDovah wrote: Today is an important day for America but for Britian, it is a tuesday. I don't do religion. Just doesn't appeal to me and well, at the moment, Dovah's life is oriented around getting employment. Merely have no interest in religion. Oh god, I just realised our news media will go Election crazy tomorrow. Same with the radios. *flips the desk* At least let us be miserable with our own news, media!

We're already having voting issues here in FL.

Still at least you have a controllable creature, my little brother would run around with loads of issues everywhere. Having your presidential election cycles be 15 months long is exhausting and really strange. Almost everywhere else election cycles are like 1 or 2 months long.

Re: General Discussion
I think the candidates need the extra time to visit all 50 states, maybe mingle around some of the larger ones just so you get as many districts as possible. America is freaking huge. Congressmen and Senators don't have this problem because they only represent one district/state.

Re: General Discussion
Well so is hyping it up like it's the next Micheal Bay film or having a dysfunctional two-party system(not to mention said parties show a greater interest in fighting with the other and less of an interest in the people or governing a country). America's political system is weird ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Kerr wrote:Having your presidential election cycles be 15 months long is exhausting and really strange. Re: General Discussion
If it was a Micheal Bay film, there would be aliens, Megan Fox, Aliens, explosions, Alien Megan Fox and erm..... pretty much just just that.
Politics tend to be dirty business but the election kinda hasn't shown America in a good way and has been a rather nasty election. I am doubtful tomorrow will see the end of it due to both candidates being iffy.

Re: General Discussion
Well current US political election has, for what I know, been less so a bumpy ride.. And rather a screaming car racing down the mountain
The dissatisfaction with the Democratic candidate is a fairly tough one.. Alot of people dont trust Hillary, and sadly alot of it isn't unfounded. Not to mention the controversy regarding Burnie Sanders
Republican is on the other hand a simpler explanation, but not a pretty one
Forgetting Trump ultimately winning at social media, or how he effectively generates attention via drama or how one issue only seems like a drop in an ocean of bigotry. No, forgetting all that(And the fact more people are voting for him, not cause they like him but cause they absolutely dislike Hillary), the issue lies in the distancing gap of the party and their key supporters
Not to be rude here, but alot of the strong sided right-wings are bitter, racist, and selfish people. Ironically(and luckily) that's a very small minority.. And that doesnt exactly help win elections now does it? Hence the party trying to branch out and be more appealing to minority groups(which are on the rise in the South, obviously), more rational with certain policies, and generally less shouting... Can you see why Trump has an initial following?
Back with (the somewhat misguided) desire to have someone new or 'outside of government' run for office.. And the obvious opportunity for business owners/1%ers to take up that demand.. Despite the utter fact a country needs people who have experience/know how government works and the very real demand for quality politicians.. But that's an age old conundrum
In short, It's all [&@%!] up

Re: General Discussion
As fun as talking about leftist politics can be I'm not going to go talk about it because political discussion is frowned upon but yeah, I pretty much agree. Electoral politics is pretty screwed but I do still support voting as a method of harm reduction.
Anyway, we'll find out what happens tomorrow. And remember despite what you might think, things can always get worse. No idea how Charlie Brooker will trim this down to a one episode yearly round up but knowing our luck he'll die before then because this year hates us all.

So true it hurts.because this year hates us all.
Hopefully the UK can comfort the US in bad decision making.. (And somewhere Russia is laughing at them both)

Re: General Discussion
We haven't made a bad decision. We are merely consumers of proper biscuits with tea and voting to make the act of dunking crummy biscuits into tea an act of severe crime was a good idea. No-one should have to suffer their tea being infected with the crumbs of biscuits that are quite clearly unable to in the hot beverage.
