The Civil War Poll for the upcoming rerelease of Skyrim
In the interest of seeing where this community stands on the Empire/Stormcloak conflict as the rerelease of Skyrim is coming closer, here is a poll.

Unity is the only way for humankind to be able to stand against the thalmor, IMO.
Though I doubt it will not matter in any way for long: I doubt that bethesda suddenly includes savegame import and different world states, so I theorize that shortly after the events of skyrim something will happen that makes the whole outcome of the war irellevant for future generations.

Why there no 3rd option? The option to tell both sides to [&@%!] off for being jerks? Not to mention their idiots(no seriously, the only winner in this bickering will be the Thalmor)

Because, Beta.........
erm............. Talos is needed and erm...... cake happened? I don't know, Bethesda made a fair amount of question decisions with Skyrim.
Anyway, as for the Civil War. Never completed it and well, kinda don't do characters that are up for joining the legion or stormcloaks. It doesn't interest me as it is poorly done and well, both sides are the same in tatics. Shame as having the Stormcloaks as a major force that relies on stealth tatics, using Skyrim to their advantage, sabotage and not being able to match the Legion's skill in direct battle would have made it much more interesting. That said, Stormcloaks are underdeveloped and usually come of as "NORDS RULEZ! EVERYONE ELSE DROOLZ!"
The Legion was established and it more or less relies on what was shown in the previous games along with a few other bits and bobs. Both factions are underwhelming and not being able to force a peace or there being a third option in general sucked. That said, they did run out of time and did have a lot of ideas for the Civil War that has been implemented via mods.
But overall, kinda never worth my time. I mean, join the legion/stormcloak vs be a gosh darn hero and explore all of Skyrim, thwart evil, shout at dragons and consume their souls, stop vampires, stop the first of my kind and being a rich hero. Do really wish that the Battle of Whiterun was triggered by failing the peaces by favouring the legion. Would have added an extra layer to it. The legion refuses to adknowledge or treat the Dragonborn as a potential threat if favouring the stormcloaks.
But i've gone on a bit of a long talk thus i best end in mid

Good guys doing the wrong thing, or bad guys doing the right thing? Either way is a screwup. And Akatosh can't start over because his firstborn son decided not to hit the On/Off button on the universe.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Re: The Civil War Poll for the upcoming rerelease of Skyrim
I feel as though the Imperials are a better choice in the long run, but the Stormcloaks are the most knee-jerk righteous choice for me. While the Stormcloaks are valiantly fighting for their freedom of culture and the like, after driving out the Empire they would also have to defeat the Thalmor, which I doubt they would have the strength to do after defeating their previous foe.
While the Imperials are the more peaceful choice, I feel as though siding with them and achieving victory over the Stormcloaks would just led to more of Skyrim's freedoms being confiscated over time, so who can say which side is best to fight for.
Then again, it has been a long time since I've played Skyrim, so maybe I'm not remembering all the details.

Remember the good old days of Daggerfall with more than 2 faction choices for the main quest?BetaB17 wrote:Why there no 3rd option? The option to tell both sides to [&@%!] off for being jerks? Not to mention their idiots(no seriously, the only winner in this bickering will be the Thalmor)

Re: The Civil War Poll for the upcoming rerelease of Skyrim
I've done all three options, siding with the Stormcloaks, with the Imperials and just telling them to shut up and sit down in the main questline, and I can't really say which one I favor. Tends to be a very character-based thing.
Though oddly enough, my Stormcloak siding characters has included a Dunmer.
