Will Mars get revenge on Beta? Wil Beta get away with being a good friend? Find out next time on UESPF!

I FINALLY got a starting date for volunteering. :D Tis 22nd September and I will have a job in 10 months. I mean, volunteering, getting help and potentially throwing myself in to level 2 Maths will boost my chances. If that happens, i could potentially be in my own place by the summer of 17. Downloaded Arena and Daggerfall. Dislike the combat system because of my mouse and Daggerfall feels wrong. It plays well but it has that not quite 100% full frame speed and the sound is buggered in the cutscene. :( Took me 3 days to work out how to get out of Privateer's hold. Found it via the wiki. The games, i mean. EE are utter bleeps with their age censor and I literally can't access sites like Bethesda. :( Either I have to pay to unlock it or take it into an EE shop and well, i go through a simcard twice a month. :-/

Anyway, I should either be able to afford to do Christmas as a result of a job this year or silently turn into Arnold Rimmer. :P

Today was an interesting day, I am either embarrassed or feeling honorable - I lost a duel to a woman.

Just a few hours ago I had beaten all my friends in a hand-to-hand duel and started boasting, "can anyone here beat me?" Alas, I was challenged by my girlfriend Serana.

Serana is someone I dare call girlfriend, 6 months older than me. She is extremely intelligent and equally strong and tall and much more beautiful with pitch black hair and eyes just like me. She is more of the 'dominant dragon' of our nest.

I did not apply my full force and speed at first but when I did, she beat me easily. Some of my friends started laughing and the others remained silent.

It was a Kung Fu duel, both our styles of choice were Wing Chun.

I've made it through the 20 hours of travelling, and am now in Rwanda! Feeling just a bit jet lagged at the moment, but it should pass soon enough. No matter, the weather is lovely and Kigali looks beautiful at night.

Today I started learning calculus (at 9 PM) and by 10, I completed half of my book. That's relativity.

And you're the same age as me, right? I don't do calculus until next year, I'm quite sure. How do grades work where you are?

12, we call them classes. I'm in class 11 for that.

The suggested age range for 11 is 16-17 in our country - all my classmates were born in 1999 or early 2000. I on the other hand am the youngest in our class.

Good god am I jealous.

Checked out my friends gun collection last night. He's got an AK, AR, 4 pistols and 3 shotguns (one being semi auto). This is how I know I'm not really much of a gun person. I mean it's very cool and all, but I wouldn't drop that kinda money on guns.

Today, the buses decided that they didn't want to be on time thus causing me to powerwalk and run to the flipping job centre. Barely made it! FFS, one would think leaving at 11:40 would be more then enough time but noooo, buses decide to be late. :-( I just discovered that Secertary(Yeah, i know it's wrong, i can't spell it) is something i am actually qualified for. Mainly because no qualifications are really required and I could sort out a work placement for it or reception work. I am really rather miffed about this discovery as no-one and i literally mean, no-one told me that this kinda fell under the Admin Sphere of work. I really wish people would tell me stuff like this when I go to them for help! I could be employed by now but noooo, let's not tell Dovah that he should consider Secatary work because we, the universe, love to make him believe he can get a job and make him be poor! Dovah. Not. Amused.

Not angry, just really miffed. Oh and I've taken a massive disliking to a government apprenticeships advert. All lies. No-one on a normal apprentice(crap) wage can afford a car. No-one can do what they claim you can do and progress into careers. My backside!

Yeah, I'm bitter about my life. Right, time to stow the Negative Dovah away and bring back Postive Dovah.

I am literally a week or two away from volunteering! :D My purpose will return!

Been playing Oblivion, writing Fanfiction(Click me sig for stories) and changing my weekly meals every week.

I also punched a bear in the face.

I may have made one of these things up.

Okay, we're 15-16 when we go into grade 11. I guess that's why we wait until grade 12 to do calculus?

That might not be, actually our courses are a bit advanced.

This thread may not be appropriate for this type of talk. Mind if we talk in PM?

Ah yes, very sorry. Kind of forgot what thread this was... PM me if you wish, I could really get all the answers from Google if I took the time to look into it.

Returning to what this thread is actually for, today I was sick in bed all day. Really too bad, because I was supposed to visit a reconciliation village. :( Ah well, I guess that's just another reason for me to come back some day.

Welp, today, I was down in the ER. A bliss for those wanting to be more engaged, a witness to constant motion, and where you get to see some of the more interesting cases*

Every so often I get interesting cases of patients in the hospital, ranging from just fascinating and rare(and thus a great learning experience to anybody in the field) and then those more severe where the risk/threat is that much more apparent >_>

I typically see my fair share of the same old same old(S.I's, DT's, psych pt's, depression, fall risk/medical assistance, confusion/aggressive behavior, ECT)* and especially down in the ER if not temporarily(add in intoxication, homeless regulars, and or both). But you wanna know what I don't see too often? Something internal now external, I.e part of his small intestines was now visible

I kid you not. The pt got stabbed by a knife, and the internal pressure forced part of his digestive track to surface from the wound. The pt is lucky the knife didn't rupture any organs, since the bleeding would be far more evident.. And internal.. Or.. external now I suppose?

None the less, we went from one of the ER's trauma rooms to pre-op before the pt went in for surgery and I was reassigned back to my prior station(I.e ER) Still, interesting day. Shame I couldn't witness the operation >__<
:
Like for example, how do you extract a sufficient blood sample from a pt that just recently expired? You don't want to drain em.. But you need that sample to help find cause of death or further testing >_> The responding MD's didn't know, the trauma staff were stumped and chilling down.

"Can't we just puncture his liver with a syringe and get our sample that way?" ~One of the male ER nurse comments

Bloody, genius. No pun intended

And for explanation, they couldn't get the sample thru more traditional or passive routes I.e thru a venipuncture cause the pt now lacked a pulse. The liver on the other hand is blood rich and would have plenty in reserve(since it was filtering it after all)
:
To clarify the first two, that being S.I's and DT's. They essentially mean either a pt whom is currently suicidal or a threat to themselves, or a pt who is currently detoxing, be it from alcohol to certain drugs, with varying degrees of severity and very real risk.. Hence the hospital's involvement

Today, I sorted out the last bits of paperwork and will offically be starting volunteering with the NHS next Thursday! :D FINALLY! THE WORK DOVAH HAS COME BACK TO VOLUNTEER! May not seem like much but i don't have much going for me beyond unemployment. This is the first of two steps that will increase mah chances of getting a jerb. Tis 4 hours, 10-2 every thursday and admin is what I'm doing. Got an id badge and travel expenses are covered monthly thus not really a long term potential issue. It's short term for the next month though. Got a new computer chair. Just need to assemble it and then I'll be able to actually lean back when using my laptop instead of awkardly sitting if i want to lean back. Tis not good for my back due to my rubbish posture.

Did usual shopping, got some bargains. Ok, they may not be proper ones like "OMG! That's half price!?" but cheap. Cheap fish! :D

I suspect this is the point where unemployment starts it's end period and within the next 10 months, I'll be both employed and living in a place of my own. Kinda hoping to be employed in 6 months and 4 months of sorting out a place to rent. It's impossible for people my age to buy our own places. We're talking stupid amount of pounds to buy a one bedroom place. Renting is cheaper. I live in an expensive part of England though.

Me weekend plans are to do a few more stories of my Oblivion PC(A mixture of not having time and just being lazy has resulted in me not writing. That and Oblivion.), working on my RP and relaxing. Chatting, Dovahing, Oblivion,, the usual stuff I get up to the weekends.

Now, where did I place my Serana cosplay outfit? :P

Dark Spark Fun Fact: I didn't learn about just how dangerous detoxing from full-on alcohol addiction was until after.

Wait, that's not a 'Fun' Fact at all.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

We saw a wolverine near our house today! Omg, I'm so thrilled! They're a super rare sight in the wild. He was huge with a nice golden ring on his black fur. We estimated he's around 80 lbs. I still can't believe it!

I hung out with me best mate today. Twas fun. Was out of contact for her for a few months due to Facebook being a bit of a pain in the ass with private accounts not adding private ones. Twas fun and nice to see her. :)

Tomorrow, i've got a job hunting related thingy but with luck, it will A. open up what i'm suited for.(Kinda a bit lost atm and admin has proven to be harder to get into then Fort Knox) and B. Find out why I'm getting less interviews then erm... ok, i can't think of a witty thing. But even a stone gets more job interviews then I do.

Oye, so tell me this. Why was today so good :wat:

Maybe it was this northern weather? A bit chill, cold rain on and off, bit of a bite with the wind. Ahhh, bliss <3

Maybe it has to do with me getting good eats today, that being take-out Chinese I pitched in for since I was in ER today(Oh ya, and having ER today is also peachy)

Or maybe cause I switched up my usual attire and got some compliments about it

Mmm :wat: a bit of all I suppose. But no seriously, if today is any clue, I may just need to go clothes shopping

Aside from the obvious fact of wearing scrubs(both dark gray today) which isn't anything new, but I normally wear a long sleeve underneath(black if gray/ gray if scrub top is anything but) and of course my wrist watch.

However seeing as I had some laundry that needed to be done, and was good on scrubs but less so with under shirts >_> so I ended up snagging just some random black long sleeve from my bro and set about normally. Turns out, people like mid length turtle necks with their scrubs :dur: and I would be lying if I didn't say I did too

(I totally didn't snag a picture when I got back from work. I'm not that vain)

I need more mid length turtle necks now... for the colder weather ya know? (yeah lets go with that excuse)
