Issue with cutscenes and music
I've just downloaded Daggerfall and did a full installion from the wiki. I am encountering lag in the cutscenes and the music struggles to play. Is this a bug? I severly doubt my laptop is having issues as it can run stuff from the 90s. It runs Fallout 1 and 2 without issues. Arena has no issues. Just daggerfall. Would appericate any help.

There is other options on size of installation? I thought the only packaged Auto-Install was just full.
I have constant sound bug issues as well, usually I just move area from the spot or restart the game. I think it may be a DosBox thing.

Sounds like a Dosbox setup problem...(pun intended).

You might have to manually configured dosbox your self. Look on the main site on how to configure for Daggerfall, and make sure you have enough RAM and have the CPU as well as everything else configured properly in the options.ini to play the game.

Yeah, but those patches...can't take up more then like 10mb, can they? They are very very tiny.legoless wrote:The unofficial auto installer comes with a bunch of mods and stuff.Igneous wrote:There is other options on size of installation? I thought the only packaged Auto-Install was just full.

Re: Issue with cutscenes and music
Your going to have to tweak the settings for the audio, you might have to lower the sample size and change the sound blaster type to sb and not sb16
Make sure the sound is around the 22000 range. In the text description in the options file, you will find accepted values. Try setting it lower and using the description to fine tune yoyr options.
Since Soundblaster is bit it should cut down on the issues. Without needing to change the sample size

Re: Issue with cutscenes and music
The issue has been solved! All you need to do is turn computer cycles to 10000 and it runs flawless. It even works for Arena. I did a web search and found this tip. I think it should be included with the next version of daggerfall setup.
