Nibenese/Colovian conlang
I'm something of a language nerd and I figured it'd be a fun project to create conlangs (a man-made language) for the Nibenese and Colovian peoples. If anyone would like to contribute vocabulary, translating texts, etc it'd be pretty chill. I can provide all the grammar rules I have created, feel free to add or recommend that I change something
I've started work on the Nibenese language and i've created the following regarding the oblivion crisis
"Krste oblevest (brneväc ojuke et Grencam Piricem) ce prsteva na tkanaļ tridná grnová apu Meruns Dagen va senäs verjipetkrne daedrest segirantevamis kirodilatt. Segirantev eteseva tkanev par Martinema Septim apu ál ce trincformeva na Atoktarat Akatosest lijovant hrļevat kongemes"
Literally translated-
"Crisis oblivion-masc. sg. gen (called-masc. sg also as-dat. prep Great-masc. sg. dat. Anguish-masc. sg. dat) happen-perf in-dat. prep. end-fem. sg. dat. third fem. sg. gen era-fem. gen. sg when Mehrunes Dagon and his-masc. sg Legion daedra masc. sg. gen attacked- 3p pl. perf. Martin-masc. sg. instr. when he become-3p. sing. perf into-acc. prep Avatar -masc. sg. acc Akatosh-masc. sg. gen use-ger. amulet-fem. sg. acc king -masc. pl. gen.
The Oblivion crisis (also called the Great Anguish) happened at the end of the 3d Era when Mehrunes Dagon and his legion of Daedra attacked Cyrodill. The invasion was ended by Martin Septim when he turned into the Avatar of Akatosh using the Amulet of Kings.

Re: Nibenese/Colovian conlang
Of all the language projects I have seen spring up, I haven't seen one for the Colovians and Nibenese.

Re: Nibenese/Colovian conlang
Once I create about 500 words i'll alphabetize them and upload it as a pdf. I'll continue adding revisions as more words are created. This should be fun!

Re: Nibenese/Colovian conlang
Interesting work, but I don't see it having much of a relationship to Ehlnofex, which it would have to be descended from either through the Nedic or Aldmeris branch of the tree.
I mean, I would understand that it would go through some changes after being further removed from base Ehlnofex, but not quite something so drastic.

Can't say I'm a fan of the random diacritics, since it's a big departure from the ASCII-friendly source material. Interesting work though.

Re: Nibenese/Colovian conlang
The diacritics affect the pronunciation, for instance the ļ makes a consonantal "y" sound. If it's easier it could be replaced with just a "y". The diacritics on the vowels affect pronunciation as well.
Good catch! That was definitely a typo. My bad

Definitely, from now on I'll take a look at some of the Nedic/Aldmeris resources and reconstruct root words from there.VirtualWeasel wrote:Interesting work, but I don't see it having much of a relationship to Ehlnofex, which it would have to be descended from either through the Nedic or Aldmeris branch of the tree.

I'm interested to see the result, you seem to have a much better grip on grammar than I've ever had when it comes to conlangsHammythefrog wrote:Definitely, from now on I'll take a look at some of the Nedic/Aldmeris resources and reconstruct root words from there.VirtualWeasel wrote:Interesting work, but I don't see it having much of a relationship to Ehlnofex, which it would have to be descended from either through the Nedic or Aldmeris branch of the tree.
