"Alright," said Holman, and stepped up to be checked first. "I'm packing, just so that there're no surprises between us. You want me to disarm before going in?"
Start the groove.

Re: Cog & Gear: Flashpoint
Monad queued up behind Holman, ready to be frisked. She'd been hoping that giving Holman her bag and weapon would have allowed them to get the items into the basement but it was looking like things wouldn't work out that way. Still, at least they'd get past and things probably would have gone worse if she'd been carrying them.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

Adelia turned to follow Rin, hands over her face.
"I'm very sorry that I couldn't be of more help," She sighed and let her hands drop to her sides, "I probably should have told you that I'm not the best at persuasion and the sort."

Run & Mausier
She trotted over to where Mausier waited patiently, still heated over their loss "We ain't no don'e yet.." or at least she seemed before the posh miss
Stopping before her guardian, he looked down at her through his high collar. Rin seemed to tighten her fist, confident that the bar brute no longer kept eye on them. "Te.. Te.. The mean brute ain't lettin' us by.." She did thru a whimper, fighting back the bulk of her tears "I... I..." She seemed to have given up, lugging forward till she met his leg, and promptly embracing it and sitting upon his foot "H.. He.. H.." Run just buried her face into the fabric, likely crying over the loss
Mausier did little, but was certainly more capable than his partner at the moment. Opening the door ajar, he nodded to the posh lady, as if saying to abide to a new path. He was far less shy to take the backdoor, and far from giving up
He waited to see if the posh miss would follow thru the door which he held, looking calmly at her without a word

Adelia smiled and nodded to Mausier as she walked through the open door. Finding alternate entrances was much more to her liking than trying to talk her way past a guard.

Mausier followed close behind before taking lead with his coat catching the air, guiding them towards the sewer entrance that he had learned of. And by every stride came Rin, still embracing his leg even while it swung by every stride

Admiral's Home - Morgan
A slight breath emitted from Morgan's mouth, one of relief as he placed the gun down, before taking a seat. "About this terrorism that remains to be floating around the train wreck?" He asked of Orville.

Orville's house - Roger
After shaking hands with Orville, Roger surreptitiously gave his own hand a light wipe upon his trouser leg as he descended into one of the offered chairs.
His eyes quickly scanned the seat for crumbs or stains before he committed to settling himself firmly upon its surface.

Bors nodded as he patted Holman down, retrieving the derringer from his pocket and stowing it in his own. He took Monad's bag from Holman and searched it, retrieving the revolver and straight razor with a frown. He examined the alchemy equipment with curiosity before handing the bag back to Holman, "Didn't take you for a medicine man."
He chuckled as Monad stepped up. She underwent the same examination as Holman, though considerably prolonged. He gestured over his shoulder, towards the door, "Go on in. And enjoy the party, heh heh."
The Sewers
Mausier, Rin, and Adelia entered and proceeded through the sewers unimpeded. They followed the same path that Cornelia had and in the darkness, nearly tripped over the body of the guard who's throat she had slashed. He was laying on the ground, choking and desperately, painfully clinging to his mutilated throat and life.
The City Rooftops
The man was equally surprised by Victoria's magic. However, he ducked under her first attack, the flames only grazing him. Victoria's telekinesis was hastily performed and wild in its execution. Instead of knocking his legs out from under him, the man was blasted through the air, slamming against a chimney and stunning him.
Orville's House
Before answering Morgan, Orville spoke to Roger, hardly seeming to have looked at him, "I assure you, sir, my furniture is quite clean. As is my right hand. Miss Potts ensures so of both."
He said to Morgan, "What else? I have run the scenario over and over again in my mind and dissected the line spouted by the Watch. It was not a wreck, and everyone who isn't white and fuzzy should realize that. But we are not in such an enlightened world as that. It was not a robbery, there are much better ways to do such a thing. Thus, I must conclude that it was some form of terrorism. But who is responsible for such a thing? My first thoughts turned to the idea of disgruntled workers. The motives are there for both parties: the workers in this city are oppressed dreadfully by their corporate masters, and the Watch could be easily... persuaded to keep their lips tight by said businessmen, thus delaying riots until a suitable time."
He stood up and began to pace in a militaristic fashion, like an officer drilling his troops, "But no, I decided. Why would workers attack a train carrying their own fellows? For it was not only the first-class section that was destroyed, but the entire train. Bombs are ludicrously easy to make with a little know-how, and indeed, I found traces of gunpowder at the scene, but how easy would it be to produce multiple ones that would produce such devastation and with such odd effects as I've heard of? And why that train, at all? Therefore, I do not believe that this was an act of workers' rebellion. There are only one scenario that fits: mages' rebellion, My theory is that a group of radical magi conspired to destroy that train as it entered the Steel District, which, not coincidentally, the Brass Towers are located. That would explain the disregard for who they killed, but not why they used gunpowder. I speculate that these terrorists, if they exist, are begin strategic in the beginning of their war of terror. They do not wish to bring the might of the Inquisition upon them before they have had a chance to spread fear. They will allow the whispers to grow. After the city is in flames, they will reveal themselves."
Orville returned to his seat, "Now. I pose two questions to you: who are you working for, and will you help me?"

Re: Cog & Gear: Flashpoint
Rin & Mausier
Prior to their decent, Run had yet to relinquish her hold over her guardian's leg, and like some caterpillar upon a tree, she shimmied her way up. Up beneath his coat, out of sight, and now unmistakably at peace.. Finding new avenues in career as a professional humpback impersonator.
As the two(three) climbed their way down and along the damp and decrepit path, at least one of them seemed none so phased. Wiggling about underneath "Dis stinks an' there be too much methane down here's. Why couldn't the'y had just built a secret tunnel, or something more dry? Eehh.." Mausier steadily avoided soiling his boots more than need be, but valiantly he pushed on with not a word "We be not havin' tis problem had that fellow not been so storm.. I swear! He must be a wizard o' somethin'!" Rin struggled to wave her arms about beneath the fabric "Ain't nobody to pass!? Oh te' nerve.."
-------------
Eventually, Mausier came to slow his pace, looking quietly at the floor not but two steps forward. A man lie bleeding, during. From under his coat Rin squirmed a bit, popping her head just from the back of his collar, though the fit was rather tight
"A man? Wha'ts all tis bout?" Rin said in a puzzle, though she gave pause as if listening to something "Oooh, aye, seems like tha't widow makin' miss was just here. Bloody, typical.."
Mausier was about ready to pass the dead man, with no care to give but Rin tugged at his shoulders "Oye! Were's dat heart? We can't just'a leave the fellow.."
As if to comply, the guardian brought his height lower, to give his companion a more ample look. Just how much was it a lost cause to try?

Re: Cog & Gear: Flashpoint
Bor's eagerness as he patted her down made Monad uncomfortable but she managed to keep a straight face throughout. She knew he was going to take the weapons away but it was still unfortunate. He better give those back. "See you around." said Monad with a smile once they were given permission to pass. She walked past Bors and went through the door, she felt the whole ploy would make her god proud. Once through Monad would wait in the middle of the stairs for Holman to follow.

Re: Cog & Gear: Flashpoint
Adelia paused to take a look at the figure on the ground. When she saw what it was, she squealed and took a step back, hands clutched to her chest.
"Oh, no. This is just awful!" She exclaimed. "That woman did it, you say? I thought that she looked a little off, but this? This is terrible! How could she leave someone suffering like that?"
She took a couple hesitant steps forward. "You don't suppose we could help him, do you?"

Holman gave a nod to Bors, and went through the door after Monad. Once he met up with her on the stairs, he offered her the bag back. He made sure they were out of earshot of the door, and whispered, "Well, we're through. So we can drop the acts, but what do we say if someone's suspicious of how we got in?"

"Oh, I'm sure they are." Roger agreed, embarrassed that Orville had spotted his actions.
He laid his hat gently on the floor beside his chair, and propped his cane against it.
"What do you want help with, exactly?" He enquired.

Monad took the bag take and put it over herself. "We tell them the truth. Guard let us past, thought we'd fit in down here." Monad replied in a low tone. She looked back at the door and pouted. "Think we made a mistake coming down here unarmed?"

Victoria
Victoria was more then aware of her injuries and was fighting fiercly through it. She was a bit too quick with her spell and was surprised it even worked. She was an adventurer but her fights weren't usually much. Just a show of sword here, a bit flashiness there. Nothing major. This mage was something else. She took advantage of the stunned man and attempted to rid the man of his sight using the power of Mysticism. She didn't want him to get back up and it would be a temporary lost of vision if it worked. It would buy her time to deal with the pain she was in and preferrably not get skewered.

"We shouldn't be getting into any trouble, we're just asking questions," Holman said, albeit with a note of uncertainty. "It would have been good to have the security, I'll admit. But we're the only ones who've made it in, so... shall we?" Holman would proceed down the rest of the stairs and into the party as long as Monad was ready.

Morgan sighed, electing to let Roger take the lead on this particular conversation... at least for now. He recalled there was a promise of fish however, when was that going to come. He may have had fish last night but nearly getting blown up and shot does make a man hunger again some.
