Didn't get the Axe of Whiterun
I did the Dragon Rising quest, and went to get my reward. Everything else worked as it should (even Lydia showed properly up this time, unlike with a few previous characters), but I didn't receive the Axe of Whiterun. At first I thought this might be because of my character being near the encumbrance limit. So I reloaded and tried again with 100 units less stuff, but with the same result. No axe.
Is there a console command I could use, or some other workaround? It's not that I *have* to have the axe, but it would be nice if only for the sake of the consistency of the game dialogue.

It seems to be the gaming failing to spawn it on Balgruuf. Are you doing the civil war quests? It could be interferring with it or any mods?

Re: Didn't get the Axe of Whiterun
The Axe of Whiterun is a randomly generated weapon, depending upon your level. Its 'metal' and enchantment will vary. Because of this, there is no reference ID for the axe, as it's not technically a unique item, and so cannot be obtained with a console command.
You can just as well get a plain axe of your choosing, then enchant it and rename it. I know it's not really the same, but it's a last resort if all else fails.

This happened to me before too. Not missing out on much though.

You'll get another chance at it if you help the Stormcloaks take the city.

Nope, no civil war quests active (if the "speak to Tullius/Ulfric" thing is not counted, and that's basically unavoidable). Some mod or other could be responsible. For instance, I've had several characters in a row for whom Lydia didn't spawn properly, and now when she did this happens. I have no idea which mod it could be, however, since I've used basically the exact same mod collection for a long time now, with only minor changes, and as far as I remember the problem with Lydia spawning started quite randomly. The SheoDovah wrote:It seems to be the gaming failing to spawn it on Balgruuf. Well, I might do that if this starts to bother me more. Fortunately console'ing an axe and a soul gem is easy enough.Aarah wrote: You can just as well get a plain axe of your choosing, then enchant it and rename it. I know it's not really the same, but it's a last resort if all else fails.

It may be worth forcing it to spawn on Balgruuf. I think the wiki suggests it as an option but i'm not too sure. Worth trying to use the command console to force it.

Try activating the part of the quest. Think it may be covered on the wiki. Failing that, try to spawn it on yourself if possible.

Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.
