Two questions about conjured weapons.

Post by Daemos Avetorii »

Are Conjured weapons likes Bound Sword/Battle Axe affected by the +20/40/60/80/100% damage boost perks from Onehanded and Twohanded?
Are Bound weapons necessarily inferior late in the game because their damage rating is fixed?

Thanks in advance to answers. :)

The weapons are affected by the damage boost perks, thankfully. If you get all the bound weapon perks, they basically equal daedric equipment. However, once your smithing and enchanting go up a ways, you can improve normal weapons to greatly exceed the bound ones. If you like to pack light, or just starting your quest, the bound weapons are great, but can become irrelevant later on. The bound bow is especially good, because it's a daedric bow with daedric arrows.

Yes, they are affected and you can even poison bound weapons. I've found them to not be as useful in the higher levels...but that may also be because the one character I used bound weapons with I didn't take any weapons perks out for. I'm pretty sure that would've made a difference.

Bound Sword/Axe/Bow is great if you invest in One Handed/Two Handed/Archery but not smithing. It takes two perks and a minimum Conjuration of 20 to obtain Mystic Binding which is the skill perk that makes Bound Weapons do more damage. This means that as early as level three a character could be fighting with weapons that are functionally Daedric.

I actually prefer the bound weapons, because it's way too easy to break the difficulty of this game with Smithing if you play vanilla. It gets boringly easy, even if you turn up the difficulty, especially if you also boost your One-Handed skill with Enchantments.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.
